Classy Hotel with friendly staff
-
Levensonian
- Dec 25, 2012
Very elegant at affordable prices.. The wine bar every evening was real nice..Along with the assorted food item made for a nice touch. The lobby has been redone, I am told, and is very cozy and comfortable, with a concierge on duty all day.. Free coffee in the morning with hot apple cider all day and complimentary newspapers...Very helpful and friendly staff - one of the best hotel experiences we have had in a long time.. Our original room had a problem with the heat, so we got an upgrade at no extra charge.. The room was immaculate and very clean..After staying there, we walked around the area and looked at the other hotels, and what I liked about the Tuscan was the clientele seemed a cut above the rest and it wasn't as noisy and hectic as some of the other ones.. The shuttle service from the airport to the hotel (Lories) was the way to go.. Saved expensive cab fare.

Would have given it a slightly better rating if the people in the room above us had not staged a sumo wrestling match in their room at 6:15 a.m.

Intimate boutique lodging near Fisherman's WharfThis boutique-style hotel is one of the newest in Fisherman's Wharf, and it's also one of the most intimate. From the outside, a brick faƧade makes the place look like any other wharf building. From the inside, though, an inviting lobby (fireplace and all) and cozy guest rooms invite visitors to stay a while. The property offers complimentary town car service to the financial district. Knuckles at the Wharf is a full service restaurant on site; for Happy Hour, try local elixirs at the Enoteca Musto Coffee Shop and Wine Lounge. HighlightsLocated within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and the EmbarcaderOn-site wine barComplimentary town car service to the financial district Rooms Considering how retro-looking the building is, accommodations -- 313 rooms and eight suites -- are downright modern. Many also offer stunning views of San Francisco Bay as well as Wi-Fi Internet access (fees apply). This hotel met my expectations. Excellent location, the staff was very friendly and the rooms were clean. My only complaint is that they charge the guests $10/day to use the Internet in the room. It's free in the Lobby but that's an inconvenience. Overall nice stay.

We enjoyed our short stay at this hotel. The thing that really made our visit great was the staff. They were incredibly accommodating - from the front desk to the valet staff to the porters. We were very pleased with our stay and wouldn't hesitate to visit this location again.

This hotel was clean and quiet with very friendly and helpful straff. They were out of regular king beds when we checked in, so they put us in a room with handicap amenities. The room was spacious
with windows that looked out onto a quiet street.
The only downside was parking, which is in a garage under the hotel. It was fairly expensive, $48 per night, and a hassle if we had wanted to use the car during our stay. The location is in the heart of fisherman's warf and not far from China town and North Beach with lot's of restaurants to choose from.

Almost opposite Pier 39 this hotel is perfectly placed to park your car and walk through San Francisco. This hotel is basic, clean and very reasonable compared with similar positioned hotel. There is no $45 a day parking it's included in the room rate as is Internet and coffee in reception. A IHOP is opposite for breakfast as is a 7 11 for any necessities. Ask for a room near the back as it does get noisy at night.

The San Remo is a quirky hotel, and an interesting place to stay. The shared facilities are super-clean, and I only had one brief wait to use a shower. The decor is great, and the rooms are comfy if a little small. I had a sink and a window - I wouldn't have fancied one of the interior rooms, but that's just me. Only grumble is the hairdryers - it would be better to say that you don't have them than to have people rely on being able to use them. I tried two, and they were both pretty useless. All in all though, I'd come back. The location is very good, the staff are helpful and it's a nice change from generic chain hotels.

A San Fran Gem

San Remo is great! The location is perfect. Not your typical hotel - small cottagey rooms and shared bathrooms and showers. It was super quiet, staff was friendly, the location is great and the price was fantastic! Also, taking a shower in the claw foot tub, with the stained glass window wide open to a San Fran view was pretty awesome. I would absolutely stay here again.

It is very good option for what you pay, the hotel is clean and the staff are very friendly and willing to help. It is an option for sleep and shower, I was out at 8 am and came back around 11 pm. The hotel is in a short walk to the fisherman“s wharf area, and if you dont want to walk it is a bus stop in front of the hotel, that takes you to fisherman“s wharf.

The Holiday Inn at Fisherman's Wharf may be a little out dated, but all the important factors are taken care of. The hotel is very clean. Location is ONE Block off the Wharf, and if you're hungry there's a Denny's in the hotel. You're also a few steps from many other excellent attractions and restaurants. I'll be going back .

Average motel. Good shower, clean room. Furnishing are "motel cheap" but functional. Wi-fi worked well.
It has traffic noise from Lombard St but its location to Fisherman's Wharf more than makes up for it.
Price is high for what you get but it is SF!

They charge extra for pets, which was expected. They charge extra for parking, not expected, and when I returned to the room, the valet next door had the parking lot jammed. I was told to double park and they would call me when a spot opened. That was around 11:00pm. I was not pleased and let them know it. Now you do, too.

Family Vacation

Our family of 4 stayed 5 nights at this beautiful hotel for our annual summer vacation. We loved our 2 bedroom accommodations. Everything was so 1st class and the beds were extra comfortable. After walking all day, it was a joy to sink into the cozy sheets and pillows. Although we had a city view, we were steps away from the Mustard lounge on the 2nd floor. What a great place to have a drink and watch the world go by below at Ghiradelli Square. The view from the Mustard lounge was spectacular!
We booked the complimentary bicycles and had a great adventure riding to the Golden Gate bridge. The hotel should probably inform guests that the ride on the bridge is chaotic and children under the age of 16 may have problems navigating through the numerous walkers and other bikers.
The breakfast at the Fairmont was perfect for our family and we enjoyed it every morning outside on the terrace.
The staff was exceptional and were eager to offer help or suggestions to restaurants or fun places to go.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we are looking into the Fractional ownership offered by The Fairmont Heritage. We will definitely stay here again!

The Fairmont Heritage Place was the perfect stay for our vacation. The suites were impeccable, with all of the amenities for our stay away from home. The beds were heavenly! The linen was crisp, fluffy and comfortable. The staff turned down our beds nightly and left a chocolate surprise on our pillows. Ghirardhelli Square was a perfect location to stay in San Francisco. Will definitely stay here again next time.

Excellent location

This hotel is very well located. It is two streets from Fisherman's wharf and one street from a cable car terminus. The number 30 bus stops right outside. Easy walk to ferry tours, bike hire close by.
The hotel is a converted apartment building and the rooms are actually apartments with bedroom, large living room, kitchen, etc.
Apart from difficulties with the wifi reception in my room on the third floor, I thought the hotel was excellent.
There is an excellent open rooftop area with a great view of fisherman's wharf and port areas.

Our arrival and check-in was the low point of our visit. The desk clerk was not as helpful as she could have been with parking directions and advice. That is the only negative.
This place is spacious, well-equipped, clean and located in a great part of SF. Parking in the hotel garage was reasonable at $20/night. I recommend it to others as a good deal and very nice experience.
