Stayed here for a recent conference. Restaurant /bar (Michael's?) has a good selection of food and wine. The workout room is nice (beware...if you go out on the basement level there is a gym that charges $13/day...instead go out on the same level as the front desk...it is nice and free!). Also there are a few restaurants conveniently located across the street (Flemmings, Trucote, etc). Beyond those restaurants, however, the location is mostly residential. Very friendly staff!

The common area of this hotel is so inviting! There is a fireplace in the lobby where you can sit and read. There is even a small library of books to borrow from with a note that they can be returned to any other Country Inn. Breakfast area is quite large to accomodate the morning crowd.

Mein Aufenthalt wahr angenehm.
Der Hotel liegt nur 15 Fahrminuten von San Diego downtown, den San Diego Zoo und la Jolla. Dennoch ist es sehr abgelegen und wenn man kein Auto besitzt nicht zu empfehlen.
Der Frühstückbuffe wahr sehr reichlich und abwechlungsreich!
Unser Zimmer wahr eigentlich sauber das einzige was ich zu beanstaden habe ist das ich eine Kakalake im Bett fand und ich während dem Schlaf von milben oder ehnlichem ungeziefer gebissen wurde.... sehr sehr eklig!!
Auch eklig wahr dass die Teller beim Frühstück auf die schnelle gereinigt wurden und dann wieder verwendet wurden... dem entsprechen kam es vor das sie nicht wircklich sauber wahren.
Das Personal wahr stets sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.

Great value for the San Diego area, restaurants nearby. The room for a family member we were traveling was given away because she checked in later, her room was upgraded which was nice but she was still on the other side of the hotel.

We received a wonderful suite with comfortable beds and furniture. The room was very attractive and modern. The hot complimentary breakfast was good. Great value for our money since we booked over a weekend. More comfortable than any other hotel we've booked with our family in the past. Good location for heading to the beaches, or the zoo. Right next door to an awesome bakery.

This is our second time at this hotel. Again, the service was superb. The staff was friendly and consistently met our needs. The breakfast surpassed what one would usually expect for a free hotel breakfast. Our kids really enjoy staying here.

my mom took me down to visit ucsd, we were only there a few hours (from 8pm to 10am) but it was really worth the stay! they patio area outside for all the guests to use looked really nice, as did the food items that could be purchased for snack in the hotel. i wish we had more time to enjoy the hotel!

Best holiday Inn that i ever been too. I do not regularly stay in small hotels or motels but this trip was unplanned and under budget. We found this hotel and stayed here for just one night and the best cheap hotel i had ever seen in san diego.

This hotel was very nice and clean, and the staff was very helpful and nice. It is conveniently located right next to a Chili's restaurant. Not exactly gourmet food, but it is nice to be able to just walk back to the hotel. It is not the best location as you have to take your car to get to any place, but the area is safe, and it was much cheaper than any other hotel on labor day weekend!

It is good for the money. Good location, next to the freeway. A little bit noisy, but not too much. The carpet is a little bit old, but room is very clean. There is a LCD TV, but no microway...In general, the hotel is very good for its rate

Overall everything is great to excellent for your buck. The only inconveniences is the fact that if you are coming from the West you have to travel half a mile down to make a U turn to access the hotel.

Visiting with family, waiting for apt. for Mom to move in. Whirlpool was fantastic, nice quite location. Staff was wonderful and breakfast was beyond all expectations.
The weather was a little cool, so were grateful for t.v. and kitchen. Rooms were fairly spacious.

Air-conditioning didn't work

We went to the room and found the maintenance personell working on the air-coniditioner. We complained that it wasn't cooling. There was no other room to move to, so it was very uncomfortable. The next day they did move us to a smaller room and smaller bed. At least it was cooler! I would stay there again, but make sure everything works.

I was in San Diego for a one day trip. The Homestead is clearly a long stay hotel and not designed for business or vacation travelers. There are no food or beverage facilities other than a vending machine, which worked fine. The room was clean and the internet worked. Minor complaint that the bed was squeaky and seemed old and lumpy. As the header says for the price it was OK.

This is a no frills hotel, very close to the center of San Diego. For the price, I got everything I needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the room was clean, and had both a microwave and mini fridge. This isn't a fancy place, but it was clean and easy to get to all the best places in San Diego.

The hotel is a good hotel, but I only gave three instead of four stars because of the location of my room. My room was in front of the street and it was very loud. Even when the window was closed. And in the night it was sometimes very cold that I couldn't sleep well and I couldn't find any air-conditioner. But the location is good and you can reach La Jolla Beach in 10 minutes and Downtown San Diego in 20 minutes.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I booked 2 nights but plans changed and I needed to check out a day early. It was easy to do and without penalty.
