This is a jewel hidden away. The staff was very friendly , happy to help.
Room clean and kept that way nicely, bed comfortable and lots of pillows to snuggle with.
I loved the place and plan on using them again for my visit.

A small getaway.

I don't live very far from this hotel, but me and my boyfriend wanted to just getaway from everyone for a little while. The pool and jacuzi was really clean and the room was nice and comfortable. The bed was so comfortable and I fell asleep in an instant. Would stay here again.

On first impression, the first floor room was dingy and worn, but everything worked well, from the wireless connection and comfortable bed, to the shower in a chipped porcelain tub. The room was quiet despite a full house. A free breakfast included cereal, milk, fruit and coffee. The cleaning staff was courteous and efficient each day of my four day stay. The small pool , was unheated and bone-chilling, despite 80 degree weather, and faced a welfare motel. Adequate parking.

The hotel was situated in Downtown Pasadena..The staff at the hotel was so helpful at any time of day. Rooms were clean, with nice products for use. Pool does not get much sun and has limited seating which is why I rated it at 4 not 5, but the ocean isnt far. I wasnt familiar with the area, but just two blocks from the hotel was an incredible attraction with Old Pasadena. An array of shopping ( from Lululemon, coach, urban outfitters and SO many more) Many eateries, Some upscale, some funky, lots of chocolate and ice cream places.. nice for all ages at night.

We enjoyed a fine New Years Eve week in the Quality Inn Pasadena, Ca. The room was conventional, yet quite comfortable. The breakfast room's continental breakfast was not overwhelming in variety, but just fine for our purpose. Our TV reception was below average, with bad shadows and limited channel selection with a very primitive remote control and outdated TV. However, who is going to watch much TV when the Tournament of Roses is going on? Housekeeping completely failed to make up the room one day, but performed excellently the other six. I just think they were temporarily overloaded due to the New Year's rush and thus would overlook the minor slight. Bottom line, on balance we would return to the Quality Inn

Wonderful experience in Pasadena

The classes at the Spa for Yoga and Pilates with Teresa were top notch. The fitness facility also first rate.
The hotel has beautiful grounds and is a very nice base to use for exploring Pasadena and close to downtown LA.
I did not like paying $25 a night for parking. I have been coming to this hotel for 40 years and the charge for parking has been put in place by the Langham. I do not recall this with the Ritz Huntington or the Huntington Sheraton - the predecessor hotels.

The gardens are beautiful. Wander across the painted bridge and enjoy each beautiful painting. We loved having coffee in the courtyard each morning. There were a few days where I never wanted to leave the hotel. The only peculiar thing I noticed--no benches or chairs in any of the beautiful gardens to sit and enjoy the scenery. Strange.
My only real complaint--they don't have the coffee the cart in the courtyard anymore.

For this hotel it is possible to give the second name: the SMOOTH WATER.
The cosy hotel in which it is possible not only to have a rest but also to work. Good service, the attentive personnel, the technician in working order, cleanliness, a beautiful kind on mountains.
But, there are remarks:
- Too hot water in a jacuzzi
- High audibility in rooms (it is audible, than are engaged visitors in the next rooms)
- Because of the provider there are small problems of connection of the Internet which are operatively eliminated
Good conditions for rest with children, residing of pensioners, tourists - singles and those people to whom quiet conditions for work are necessary.
I like this hotel.

wanted to visit Old Town and Cal Tech and it was easy walking distance to both the free parking was nice and secure

The Saga Motor Hotel was built in 1957 and located on the world famous Tournament of Roses Parade and Route 66. The Saga is located in close proximity to numerous restaurants and cafes, several of which offer take-out and delivery services. The Saga Motor Hotel is a 100% Smoke-Free Hotel. No smoking is permitted in our guest rooms, around the swimming pool area or anywhere else on the hotel grounds. Cancellations must be made 24 hours prior to date of arrival to avoid a charge of one night stay. Any no-shows will be charged for one night. Check in: 2pm.

good for business travel

The Saga is great for my business travel. It is centrally located and I can get to both work and a variety of restaurants. The room is not fancy but it has a fridge and freee internet access. I got a bonus this time and also had a flat screen TV that I used to connect to my computer so that i could see my work on 2 screens.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. And it's very convenient to run down to breakfast.

Would have enjoyed more room to sit at a table in the breakfast room. Otherwise, everything as expected in three star. Location ideal, away from much traffic but close enough to Old Town.
