Mattress and pillow didn't provide comfort for a good night sleep. Could hear TV and people talking next door!!!

Clean room, very helpful staff, beds are very uncomfortable.

It's really new & updated the rooms are great & very clean. I'd stay anytime & the price was right.

stayed here because it was close to my daughter's wedding location and it had a pool & hot tub. The staff were friendly and very helpful and lots of nice restaurants close by.

The hotel was close enough to Legoland. The staff was friendly and the room was big enough to accommodate a family of 4.

The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful, and the 333 Pacific made the evenings even better

SHOULD OFFER 2 QUEEN BEDS, FOLD OUT COUCH WAS OK FOR 1 NIGHT BUT NOT LONGER. I WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE REFRIGERATOR IN ROOM BUT THERE WAS NOT. STAFF VERY FRIENDLY AND POOL WAS NICE LOCATION WAS ALSO GREAT, WALKING DISTANCE TO THE BEACH AND DOWNTOWN WITH SEVERAL PLACES TO EAT.

perfect for fmilys but need to let minors go out into the hotel alone also need to put soundproof in rooms

Room was very clean and smelled fresh. Room was large and roomy. Easy to get to off the high way. Only down side was gentlemans club next door.

Everything was top notch! Unfortunately, the noise of doors slamming all night long took away from all of the good things this hotel has to offer. The swing and latch adjustments on all the doors need to be readjusted to stop the doors from slamming shut. Your hotel is wonderful. Your staff is attentive, helpful, and courteous. The pool, restaurant, and covered parking were all great! The hotel is modern and cool looking and is close to the beach. Fix your doors and your hotel will be perfect!

We came for a wedding and coulnd't have been happier with the location. The bar opens late, but was still a good time!

Just a place to sleep

We needed a reasonable Hotel close to the Harbor, for one night. Fooled by the fancy name, we expected a Luxurious room, not so. The room decor needed to be updated, the mirror in the bathroom was badly peeling. Bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper like me, because you'll be next to the 5 Frwy, Bring your own towels, these are rough! I gave it only 3 stars because the freeway noise was overwhelming for me. Investing in double paned windows could help. We should have stayed close by on Mission Avenue, where we've stayed twice before. On the bright side the staff was friendly, & helpful. The Continental breakfast was very good. The sheets were clean. The bed was comfy.

This motel is in a great location for activities in Oceanside, Beach, and Camp Pendleton. We impromptu stayed after dinner on New Year's Eve 2010. When writing reviews, I try to consider the price, and at $79.00, this seems in line now a days, with what we received. The stay was ok, but don't expect a whole lot because you will be disappointed. There is the most basic of everything available, including mini-fridge, microwave, coffee-maker, blow dryer, and iron and board. Our room also had a small table and a couple chairs. The Room was Small with one queen bed. Also note, this motel is right by the freeway, and the noise is inescapable. That said, it didn't bother us. I Reserved a NON-Smoking Roon. We are very sensitive to Cigarette Smoke, and our room REAKED of stale smoke, the scent of which, we took home with us. IF this is a problem for you, I'd suggest you call ahead or VERIFY you won't have this problem. They are generous with TV channels, and FREE Internet, but the "breakfast" is NOT a breakfast. At 8am, I walked down to pick up a few things for our "Complimentary" breakfast, which was limited to coffee, cereal and plate of packaged sweet rolls.. There may have been a couple apples in a bowl as well. IT was free so I've learned not to expect much for free. Overall, in a pinch, I would come back, but, this Travelodge did not impress enough to keep me from looking at alternatives before making a reservation in that area again,(which will probably be next New Year's Eve).

This was a last minute find for our family. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. All you need to bring are cloths and food if you're going to use the kitchen. They have boogie boards, towels, chairs and beach cruisers. We had a blast ride the beach cruisers up and down the beach, it was awesome. We will definitely visit again.

The place was right on the beach and nice and clean. However, the second day we were there, housekeeping knocked on the door and immediately opened it, even though I had the do not disturb sign up. I was not happy about that. Then a couple nights later the staff called our room at 2:00 in the morning to tell us our car's flashers were on in the garage. The car had been gone since 8:00 that night and was not even there. When I complained the next day the lady I complained to said they probably wanted to save our battery. When I told her the car wasn't even there, she offered no apologies. That was very rude. I would choose another place if I returned.

The room and the hotel are well maintained.

The room itself was nice. We had a room with separate living area. The problem with any hotel stay is/are.. anything that goes wrong. We got up at 6:00 am to shower, and could not get hot water. IT took until 10:30 am to get reliable hot water, and this may be a problem for those on a schedule. Yes, I could have taken a miserable cold shower, but NOT for $180 a night. Since we were on an overnight stay, and not on a schedule it was ok. They offered us to take a shower in another room, but do the math on that.. The hotel was not at capacity, so I am not sure why we had this problem. When I called the front desk, she didn't seem all that surprised. If you are planning on using this hotel, make sure you verify your room is not subject to this problem. We were on the 3rd floor, and of course I don't know how the place is plumbed. I called in advance to verify the bathtub size (for a couple to bathe in). Was told they are large enough for that activity, but was lied to. The bathtub is small, like most are. Complimentary Breakfast was better than most (scrambled eggs, waffles, sausage) , but no fruit available. I checked that I "would recommend" this hotel, but this assumes getting a hot shower. And, this is a better hotel for business, or family stays, and only "ok" for couple's stays.

Checkin/out ok, room was clean and centrally located for my needs. Good access to major freeway. No pots/pans in room initially, minimal cooking utensils provided, toaster was broken. I was given two pans when I inquired. No dishwasher. Fellow guests were quite except for one of the four nights I was there. Ok for a bare-bones stay but is significantly lacking in kitchen functionality and equipment.

The hotel has a convenient location. It's close to everything. I stayed there for the Carlsbad Marathon, and it's located so close to the starting line that I jogged there. Hotel rooms may need some renovations, but my stay was peaceful and enjoyable.

The hotel is 5 blocks away from the beach. Five very long blocks, not walking distance. Nonetheless the hotel is very clean and quite pleasant. The hot continental breafast is really nice and a great money saver. With three kids and one which is 17 it's nice to have the sofa bed for him in the living room. For our family of five it was a great value. I would definitely go back.

Everything was quite good except the location of room was noisy from ice machine, freeway and no view. We were pleasantly surprised by the variety of food at continental breakfast.

ROOMS WERE CLEAN AND ORDERLY. FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF. RECOMMEND. I WILL BE STAYING THERE AGAIN.

The room was very large. Not bad for the price

The staff was very friendly and capable. The current description of the hotel amenities includes continental breakfast. This is no longer offered and was discontinued since August 2011. The room was not very clean but was acceptable since we stayed there one night only.

Upon arriving, I was happy to see so many sailboats docked, and the outside of the hotel looked appealing. While checking in, I found out that there was a $50 deposit I had to pay, which I was unhappy about due to the fact that I was not notified about this fee [...] by the hotel when I called before I started my long drive from Arizona to their location in California. I had all of my money budgeted for everything that I would need it for and did not have an extra $50 to spend, but the Front Desk Attendant assured me that it would be put right back into my bank account once I checked in. Once my son and I got to our room, I was unhappy with the slight odor in the room, but figured that it was because of all the wet weather they probably get there being right at the ocean. I noticed that there was stains on the carpet, the screen door to the patio sliding door was off-track, and you could tell that someone did a bad job on painting the room/bathroom. I did like that they wash the bed covers as well as the sheets after every use, which was a great thing to hear due to I usually have to avoid using them in other hotels. The housekeeper, the only one that I came into contact with, was very nice. I was happy that I didn't have to go far to get to the places I wanted to take my son to that weekend...however we did not have access to walk down the docks to get a closer view of the sailboats. My son and I did not like that whenever we had to leave our room that evening just to go to the vending machine or the car, we had to bundle up due to the hotel hallways were not enclosed they were open to the weather and cold. The next morning, I thought that I wouldn't have to take my son anywhere for breakfast since the hotel offered a complimentary one...but I was incredibly unhappy with their layout - it consisted of coffee, orange juice, hard-boiled eggs, and danishes that didn't look appealing. Needless to say, we didn't eat anything. When we were checking out, I was told by the lady who was the Front Desk Attendant at that time, that my deposit may take a couple days to get back into my bank account...when I expressed my unhappiness about this and my worry that I would have enough money for gas to get back home (7hour drive back to where I live in AZ), she had a sassy response that consisted of 'all hotels have a deposit' and that I should have known that and had made it part of my budget. I have not used a hotel in quite some time, and was not notified by [...] the hotel [...] about this fee, so of course I could not have known to put aside another $50.

The room was clean and neat, carpet had sticky spots (read about this in other reviews before booking) but for the price it was all in all a decent room. The continental breakfast included a lot of choices and was always well stocked. Refrigerator was good sized. WiFi was fast and free. We would definitely stay again.

We were comfy and had everything we needed. Breakfast was great! Good for the price. Good proximity to the beach and Interstate 5.

THE HOTEL OVER ALL WAS NICE CLOSE TO THE FREEWAY AND THE BEACH ONLY THING IS THAT THERE WAS NO FREGATOR AND NO DRAWS TO PUT ANYTHING TV A LITTLE OUT DATED BUT OTHER THEN THAT IT WAS GREAT actually when we coming back in october we well try to stay there again thanks for friendly staff

For the most part it was as expected...a place to change, shower and sleep. I only have one complaint the TV in my room had a life of it's own, it would shut off all by itself. Made it hard to laydown and relax at night watching TV.

Super location. I am retired military, a poker player, golfer, and a walker. Camp Pendelton gate was a 7 iron shot away and had two dandy beaches on the ocean - one very close to the southern gate, the other on the north side of post a good drive away. It was a 10 minute walk to the harbor and public beach of Oceanside. The harbor has entertainment in the evening and bonfires on the beach. Free parking available at the harbor if you did not want to walk. Oceans Eleven casino had poker 24/7 and only 3 miles away. Sidewalks abound outside the motel and if you look hard enough you can find a bicycle/walking path a half mile away. Plenty of restaurants in Oceanside. I suggest you try the Carrows restaurant for a good cheap sit down meal. Dennys which is across the street is open 24/7. By car, and depending on traffic and the day you go, LA is an hour away, downtown 1 1/2 hours. San Diego a half hour away. 2 1/2 hours away is Joshua Tree National Park. Torrey Pines golf course is 20 minutes away, a fantastic municipal course, just visiting the pro shop is worth the trip to see it. Free parking for pro shop visiting. As far as the motel itself, on site parking, outside room access, friendly staff, clean rooms, small but adequate pool with hot tub on those cool Southern California nights. The rooms had a small refrigeratior, microwave, wifi, coffee maker, hair dryer and continental breakfast which was your average cereal, fruit, muffins but adequate. The only thing hot was the toast and coffee.

Great location. Could see the harbor and the ocean with the waves breaking from the patio at the back of the motel. There is a trail that runs from the patio / pool area down to the harbor and beach. I went for a run past the harbor and along the beach most every morning. Great way to start my day! People are out surfing at all hours... as long as there is day light.

I was very happy with my stay at the Auqamarine Villas, I hope to go back as soon as possible. Excellent price and just a block off the beach. Nice, Clean, full kitchen and Garage parking. Loved it. Just took a day to get used to the train but was all worth it.
