We stayed at the Ramada in Merced on our way to Yosemite. We literally had just arrived (10pm)& went to bed so we just needed an inexpensive and clean room. The Ramada fit that perfectly. The bed was very comfortable & we slept like babies. The room decor is a bit outdated but very clean. They even serve a nice basic breakfast in the morning.

The room was very clean and provided all the amenities needed for business stay. Internet connections could be upgraded, was slow. Staff very helpful and friendly.

Hotel very nice easy to find , friendly staff however neighborhood not that great . A bit of a surprise that with so many hotels there they would tolerate much trash in street. Good location for Yosemite .Excellent restaurant nearby 'Branding Iron" would recommend to friends etc.

Friendly staff, very clean and quiet rooms, overall the hotel is pretty new and the rates are at least 20% lower than similar hotels of it class, they provide quality shower products and a lite complementary breakfast. Very good value for your money.

The room was very spacious and everything was clean and nice. The only downfall was the shower, my husband is rather tall and had to squat down to fit under the faucet.

We are 70 miles from Yosemite National Park with year round access. Lake Yosemite is 5 miles away. UC Merced is 5 miles.
The Travelodge has large spacious rooms. All rooms have WI-FI, Microwaves and refrigerators, 27" TV's with HBO, Coffee Makers and Hair Dryers. Typical motel - clean and functional but nothing special. Check-in fellow nice, friendly, and helpful. Several decent places to eat close by, including a Sizzler, if that's to your taste. As to location, super convenient because on highway. Downside, very noisy because on highway.

Friendly staff, clean rooms with all the essentials, good breakfast selections. Very noisy with all night traffic in front of the hotel plus a train on the other side of the highway.

Worthy of the price

I am lucky enough to be traveling to Merced a couple of times a year. I like to take the train to avoid the nasty drive through the Valley so I'm in cabs and walking when in Merced.
The Vagabond is closest to downtown, where there are a couple of OK places to eat, and more importantly, where I need to be for meetings.
The rooms are clean, staff is nice, AND THERE'S FREE WIFI. Sure, it's obviously you're spending less than $50/night, no shampoo and thin towels, but there's no Kimpton in town. If there was, that would be my choice.

The trip was ok. We were right next to a freeway so it was very loud. But for $46 I would stay again because its so cheap. Bring your own towels, shampoo, conditioner, etc.

Didn't expect much more for $50, it did the job. The shower head was in the middle of the wall, the breakfast was sparse and the staff was a little hard to communicate with.

The parking is very limited and often scarce spaces are used up by friends of the staff. There was no counter space in the bathroom to put toiletries. Rooms were very clean. Great access to immediate restaurants.

Days Inn Merced is conveniently located in a nice quiet area of the city, with affordable rates. Days Inn offers microwaves, refrigerators and VCRs in all rooms, including in-room coffee. Wake up in the morning and have a free continental breakfast in the lobby with a free newspaper. During the day, you can go to the Wild Life Museum just a 1/2 mile away. Our friendly staff looks forward to serving you at Days Inn Merced.

Merced is a great launchpad for Yosemite, and the Daus Inn is tasteful, comfortable and would have been ideal if we hadn't had to carry our breakfast back to our room on a tray. They had no plates so we were balancing our toast on a bowl. What is wrong with an area where we can sit down? What if it had been wet and windy???

I was very happy with this hotel. The staff were very accomodating by way of an early check in and a late check out. Rooms were great with the exception of stains on the carpets. Pool, hot tub and breakfast was also a plus for the price. I would stay here again in a heartbeat...

Everything was great but the beds were very unconfertable. You faught to stay in the bed and would roll out if you did not stay in the middle and the matress was sloping down hill your head was lower than your feet and the clocks were set an hour off.

The Super 8 provided easy access to the UC Merced Campus where I needed to be early the next morning. We found that the room was clean with great wireless. Oftentimes, I have experienced trouble with the wireless connection while staying at hotels that advertised that they had an internet connection.
The shower was quite nice as was the air-conditioning. And, the frig kept my beverages cold.
