This is an excellent choice for a mid-range hotel. Most of the amenities of a luxury hotel without the ridiculously high price. Good access to restaurants and the freeway for wherever you need to be in Chico.

Good place for an overnight stay

We were tired from a 3.hour drive and were pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The staff was very helpful and courteous - gave a nice recommendation for dinner. Really appreciated having an elevator. The room was very clean- loved the rainshower showerhead in the shower. The free breakfast was fine - I am not sure what others expect- but, speaking from experience, we have had much worse. Choice of egg, bacon or sausage,potatoes and toast - along with a beverage. The only downside was that the walls are "paper thin" - and our next door neighbors awoke before 6am and had lengthy conversations that kept me from getting a restful sleep - would have appreciated an extra hour. Will definitely stay here again if I am in the area.

I was in town for a Jewelry workshop @ String Bead and stayed 3 nights at the Holiday Inn. I was pleasantly surprised by how clean and nice my room was. I requested a non-smoking room and it was great because I didn't smell any smoke (which I have in other hotels). I love that in your room they had a microwave and refrigerator that actually got cold enough to hold food at the right temp. I did order room service the first night and was delighted with my Indian Food, delicious. The breakfast that was included for the Priority Members was just OK-and other than the bar that was down by the check in desk all was great I would stay here again. The only thing I didn't like is that the people that weren't staying at the hotel and just frequenting the bar in the hotel had held the side door open and were smoking right by the door so when unloading my luggage I had to pass 3 men smoking 2 times going to and fro my car. I was a little itimidated as a single woman traveling by herself. The room was great once I got up to it. I was always greeted with a smile. Thank you Holiday Inn

The hotel was clean, offered all the facilities one would want for a short stay, from a swimming pool to a well equipped gym.
The only draw back i found was NO room service, other than that they were efficient, attentive and very pleasant.

This is a pretty basic but clean and well kept motel. Common areas could use some work but it didn't bother me particularly. Reception clerk was friendly and informative.

The room was comfortable, though a bit stuffy. Some simple amenities would have been nice - like a channel guide for the TV. The breakfast was pretty slim and all packaged goods. But you can't expect a big spread at a bargain motel. My biggest complaint was the "free wireless." It was free, but the settings were such that it battled with my netbook all weekend. Not only was I unable to use an internet connection to check email, etc., I was unable to do anything on my netbook. The network shut off my firewall, shut down my anti-virus software and locked up my computer. As soon as I took the computer to another network - the Denver Airport Network, for example - everything worked fine.

We will only Stay at the Diamond in Chico. Central to everything, free breakfast cooked to order, free parking, spa passes. Not cheap however.

We booked this hotel for New Years Eve because it was centrally located and frankly, the cheapest deal. Although the hotel is going through renovation, it was a clean room. The front desk reception was very friendly and accomodating. Can't really complain about much for the price...

Rooms a little small, but the prices are great! Staff is nice but there vending machines happened to be broke while i was there, no good for a thirsty person in the middle of the night! Overall i had a pleasnt stay Nd would go back again.

Get the king Jacuzzi suite if it's available

I didn't like the room or d/t location that much last time I stayed, but Drew showed me the king/jacuzzi suite to keep in mind for my next visit. The suite was very large with every amenity, incl. 2 tv's, wet bar, micro, fridge, etc. and a jacuzzi tub that worked nicely. I never got up in time for the cont. brkfst, but enjoyed sleeping in! It was a great room, nicely decorated, comfy bed, and more space than I've ever seen in this type of star rating.

The poeple at the front desk were very heplful with direction around town. We were in town to move our daughter into her dorm room and this hotel was very easly accessable to both Craigs Hall and Chico State.

Drunk times in Chico

Went there for Halloween for a weekend to see friends and go to the bars. It is what it is cheap downtown with a lot of young people who are staying there while they want to go out. It was nice and clean really easy to walk to the bars. I enjoyed it but if you don't want drunk people around who are going to be loud stay somewhere else.

Great location. A great place to stay if you are visiting friends and have places to be during the day and night, but want a place to rest that isn't a couch. Bathrooms were very clean but with a very noisy ceiling fan. Would visit again based on price, location, biggest drawback was the stiff-as-a-board bed, but what do you except?

Good stay esp.for the price. Bed was very comfortable.The sheets were very soft!That is most important to me as that is the bases of the stay. TV had many channels to pick from, but the TV itself was very small.The room was very hot when I got there, put the air on and left for dinner. When I returned,it was comfortable all night.Air conditioner was not loud at all.Slept great. There was no alarm clock for the morning.The bathroom had some kind of seeds on the floor and the usual long black hairs that were not mine. (I am blonde)
Minor negatives. Would stay again.

My room was inexpensive yet the room wqas clean and had high speed internet as well. No morning coffee was the only drawback.
