If you, like us, are headed out to the beach and Legoland, it really doesn't get any better. The location is fantastic, the ammenities are really great, the staff are incredibly nice. The walls are a bit thin and the matresses could be better, but overall, this resort (for the price) is great!

We had a great experience. Everything was great. The only problems were that we had a had time located the hotel because the entrance is not on the street of the address. The location was perfect. It was close to shopping the beach and restaurants.
We were disappointed in the breakfast.

Our room was not ready at check in, but we did check in early. Sunday breakfast was super crowded, but the hotel is very nice. It has tons of things to do, the adult pool and hot tub are open til 12am, and the beach is across the street! Friendly staff and everyone was very helpful...I can't wait to stay again for longer.

I rate this hotel a 31/2 star. Second time we have stayed, both times we arrived early and the front desk was very understanding and gave us a room. Rooms are clean and the staff is great. We visit family and friends, it is very centrally located for us.We had a very early check out and the night manager made sure we had coffee and food available before we left. Very nice touch. Looking forward to our next visit.

Room was kept clean and always had new towels. Bed was very comfy and the atmosphere was clean and generally quite. Enjoyed the hotel very much and would definitely stay there again.

Just an overnighter, but this was a great location, since it is a short drive to the ocean, and very close to many restaurants. A good breakfast is provided and the pool ,though I did not use it, looked very inviting!

Well at first I thought the rate was way too high when I booked it. However we promised my 5 yr old son that he was going to go to Legoland this summer and I wanted to surprise him. Ok so it was the right price for the 2 bdroom suite we ended up getting. It's a great location to Legoland and restaurants, etc. The only negative was the breakfast. It was awful. So after the first morning we decided to go out for a much better breakfast. I would definitively stay there again and just eat out.

HOTEL WAS NICE, STAFF VERY FRIENDLY
I THINK THEY SHOULD HAVE A PLACE FOR YOU TO EAT BREAKFAST THERE IN THE HOTEL AS OPPOSED TO THE RESTARAUNT ACROSS THE PARKING LOT. THAT WAS A LITTLE WIERD FOR ME. IT IS CLOSE TO LEGOLAND BUT NOT THAT CLOSE YOU DEFFINETLY HAD TO WALK NOT TOO BAD GOING THERE BUT ON YOUR WAY BACK IT WAS A LITTLE HARD FOR MY SON BECAUSE OF FEET HURTING.
I DIDNT KNOW ABOUT THE KIDS WATERPARK AT THE HOTEL UNTIL WE WERE GETTING READY TO LEAVE THE NEXT DAY..BUT THE STAFF SAID IT WOULD BE OKAY TO STAY AFTER WE CHECKED OUT...SO THAT THAT WAS NICE
OVERALL A NICE PLACE TO STAY..I WOULD STAY AGAIN

Great location, right across the street from Legoland, we walked every day. Nice family pool area with water park and hot tub. Room a little small, but still adequate. Beds are comfortable! I would definitely stay again.

We had a great time and the staff was great. The place is very pretty. Located just steps from the beach which was great for that was the main reason for going there. The grounds were kept up nicely around the Inn.

Overall great place to stay. Located across the street from beach and restaurants. Very clean and nice amenities. The standard hotel-style room was decorated nice and looked recently updated. Grounds are nice and there are alot of places to relax in a comfortable chair/lounge outside. The pool area was a little small for the size property. The only downside was our room was located on the street and it was noisy, even at night.

The Front Desk staff was not very friendly :( Overall the hotel was beautiful, and comfortable! There was however, a stain on the sheet and pillow that looked like blood!!! Also when we first got to the room, the shower head was sitting on the bathroom counter, so we called for engineering to come up and they came about an hour and a half after we called! One more thing, before we got to the hotel, I called from Legoland to set up a surprise amenity for my son's bday, and for my other 3kids as well, the agent
confirmed that they'd have it set. At the desk While checking in, I asked the agent if it was all set and he didnt see anythng on it!! So he then confirmed it would
be taken care of and almost 2hrs after we checked in
room service finally came up and brought "2 cookies
and ONE glass if milk"!!!! We have FOUR kids!! But really overall it was a very nice hotel and we had a rough week with two horrible hotels!!! We will defintely be staying with Sheraton/Starwood again :)

The proximity to Legoland is largely why we stay here. But the hotel is great all around. Very close to the Carlsbad Outlet shopping center as well. The pool is large and well-kept. I wish they had better service for food at the pool rather than having to walk over to a phone to essentially order room service. But any complaints we have are very minor.

The beds are extremely comfortable the staff was very nice the rooms and facilities were very clean. The only complaint is that the complimentary continental breakfast was good but the food kept running out fast and maybe it was just because of having new or unwell trained breakfast staff, but it took forever to get anything refilled. i never did get any milk. but besides that it was very very pleasant.

This is a relatively new facility only 3 blocks from the beach. Although it is close to the freeway and to the Amtrack line, room noise was not a problem. Breakfast was included and of reasonable quality. Staff was helpful.

I was very impressed with the hospitality at this location. I arrived a bit early so the room wasn't quite ready but the hotel attendant was more than helpful with suggestions to eat lunch and called me on my cell phone when the room was ready. Very impressed with the service throughout my entire stay. Had great bar service at pool as well.

This was a perfect location for us since we were going to Legoland and it was 10 minutes away. I was a little scared since this Hotel is right next to the fwy(I was not aware of this when I booked it) But it was not at all noisy and we were able to sleep fine. Room was clean, bed was really comfy too. In the morning we went to check out the breakfast which we never have at other hotels since it doesn't look good! The breakfast here was Nice! I had a toasted bagel and my hubby made the kiddo a waffle, which they have everything just ready for you to pour! Fresh apples and bananas Was a Plus! =)

My sister and I stayed two nights while visiting family in the area. The location was a little off the main road (Palomar Airport Rd.) nestled in a business park, but for the price it was okay with me. The Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites down the street are double the cost of the Marriott Courtyard. The rooms were clean, quiet and had ample space. We had a nice 3rd floor room overlooking the pool area with two queen beds. The beds were surprisingly comfortable. My only real complaint was that the bathrooms needed updating. The yellowed cultured marble vanity and tub surround looked a little grungy. Not a big thing, but an updated bathroom would have bumped my score closer to a 4. I did appreciate the separate sink from the toilet/shower room--made getting ready in the morning easier with two people. Service was great and very responsive. Since it was in a business park, there are no restaurants within walking distance, but a breakfast buffet with waffles and omelets was available and there was a bar for cocktail hour. Fortunately, there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and stores within a short drive. All in all, a peaceful stay.

I thoroughly enjoyed our stay this past weekend at the Hampton Inn. My girlfriend and I were down there for the weekend since we were running in the Carlsbad Half Marathon. Morning breakfast-excellent!, service at front desk-great. Each agent had a smile on their face and were friendly.
Only downfall was the bed just wasn't that comfortable. In the morning after the first night there both my girlfriend and I had sore lower backs. Bed seemed to be the problem.
Otherwise, a great hotel and we will be back in 2013 when we run it again!

The facility is surrounded by a security fence, but the gates are left open. We weren't sure how that added any security.

Staff was friendly and very helpful. The rooms were clean. The second floor deck was great. The breakfast buffet didn't restock food very quickly and tended to shut down early, but was otherwise okay. Overall a great place. I would definitely stay there again!

Went with 5 other guys on a golf weekend. Booked our rooms through [...]. When we got there, we were shocked that we only got ONE queen bed for each room. Was told by the front desk girl "that's the way [...]does it" Unfortunately, we didn't bring our paperwork, so we were stuck, this hotel wouldn't or couldn't get us into rooms with two beds, so we ere stuck with a bed and a cot. Horrible accomodations, will never stay there again.

We booked the hotel because it was recomended by a family friend. It seems that the room they were booked in was much nicer then the one we had a chance to stay in. Our room was missing the refrigerator and there was no ironing board. I had to go to the front to request it. The Coffee that was offered in the room must have been in that room for quite a while, as the creamer and sugar were hard. The loaction was good; just 8 miles from Legoland. I liked the Lake, however we didn't get the chane to stay in a room with any view. We were hoping to get a chance to stay on the Lake side; which we believe was reserved for guest that booked directly through the hotel. The 2 pool areas, gym, and golf course were nice and clean. No bed bugs or fleas; which is awsome!

Our family decided to take a road trip with my 2 year old son and 10 year old newphew to enjoy Legoland. We decided to stay at the Residence Inn at Carlsbad since it had a full kitchen and was very close to Legoland. I have to say, i was worried at first but i was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness & hospitality that the hotel offered. As soon as we got there the night manager was very courteous and friendly. our room was a 1 bedroom suite with kitchen and living space. bedroom was tight but still worked for us. The only complaint about the room was the beds were really uncomfortable. the free breakfast buffet was awesome. food was good quality and plenty of variety for this 5 month pregnant momma and my fam. we were able to get a shuttle ride to Legoland and Sealife aquariam very easily. Ryan, our driver always seemed to be readily available and gave us information of local places to go. the Carlsbad outlet was worth checking out. The only other complaint i have is the staffs food recommendations for Chinese Delivery and Flipping Pizza was awful. the food at both places were so bad, our newphew wouldn't even eat the pizza. other then that, we were very pleased with the hotel, the staff and definitely their breakfast buffet. i would recommend for any families needing a place to stay while enjoying Legoland.

My husband and I were in town for a wedding, this was our first time in Carlsbad, the hotel location was close to the main attractions. We enjoyed our rooms,it was spacious and clean. The bed was extremely comfortable,and the breakfast which included waffles, eggs, sausages, potatoes, etc. was about average. The food at the hotel was okay, however, I think it needs to be higher quality food and more variety.

As soon as you pull into the resort there are valet attendants 24 hours/day to greet you and to assist with bags, directions, etc.... The restaurants were great along with room service. If you go to the pool make sure your children are at least 48 inches because CA has a height law and they enforce it. If the pool restaurant is not open you can order from room service which is delivered poolside. The staff is extremely friendly, everyone we met was great. The fitness center offers wonderful group classes and the kids club is fun. It is a very quiet, peaceful and beautiful resort. We are definitely going to go back.

It was a wonderful room. The beds were very comfortable. The walk-in shower was great. Bathrobes were provided--NICE.
The weather was beautiful. Great restaurants within walking distance.
We'll definitely return--possibly next February for our wedding anniversary.

great inn, great beach, great town

I started out looking at hotels in San Diego, but a convention there forced me to look North. I didn't know anything about the geography of the area, so I didn't know there is a spectacular continuous beach from Carlsbad to Oceanside. But now I do, and I'm glad I found it!
The Beach Terrace Inn is located in the prefect spot. Steps away from the ocean, with a great view and the sound of the waves. And within a few blocks of the Carlsbad Village shopping and dining area.
The room was larger than expected, and nicely appointed and clean. The cold breakfast bar had lots of fruit along with juice, bread, cereal, and pastries. A great way to start the day.
My only complaints were the low flow faucets and shower and hard water, but hey its Southern California, it should be a desert wasteland. And the lack of a spare T paper roll and tissue paper box (the last morning they both ran out just as we left - that was almost a problem - instead of just an irritation).

This resort was very nice. The staff was also nice to all guests which made them feel like they were at home. The resort was located very close to the beach. Overall the resort was great in all areas.

Not a bad drive to San Diego right off the freeway.. Nice sized room not the greatest beds ever but not the worst. Nice place for a really good price for a weekend getaway.
