Friendly Staff. Very Clean. Great Breakfast.

I got a really good rate on this hotel. I thought for what I paid ($50 for a 2 double bed room) we were definitely in for mediocre. We were greeted by a very friendly staff member, the lobby was nice and very clean. Went up to our room, which was also very clean. The room was pretty spacious and also had a microwave and mini fridge, and spacious enough table and sitting area. The bedding was clean and the was very comfortable. The continental breakfast was really good as well. Good variety and nothing tasted old. Overall, we were very pleased. I would definitely stay here again if I'm staying in the area.

Used this as a jumping off point for the Rose Bowl. Half the price of anything near Pasadena and saved a couple hours driving to/from Oregon. (Go Ducks!) Room was a decent size, quite and clean. Wish the beds had been queen size but knew they were only doubles when I booked it. Continental breakfast was typical and sufficient, nothing to write home about. Only negative was the lack of a full curtain on the window so no way to block the morning sun.

The hotel was very nice. We did not arrive until just after 9pm, and the restaurant was closed. We were able to order room service until 10pm, and the food was very good.

Leaking Ceiling.... IN THE UPGRADED JAZUZZI SUITE

upon awakening the next morning I heard a dripping sound coming from the jacuzzi. I got up and expected to have to turn the valve closed tighter to stop the drip. i bent down to reach for the faucet and was hit on the top of my head with drops of water falling from the ceiilng... presumably from the Jacuzzi directly above me... Meaning that their nasty waste water from the persons shower above me had just dripped all over my head... nasty
Honestly for the money ... you cant beat the rooms there.. I'd stay again... only because you get a lot of room for your money

One of the better places we have stayed. Clean room and bath with comfortable beds. Great place to stay for one night, but parking was impossible. The establishment fills its rooms and consequently, finding a parking place is a challenge.

this is an excellent hotel! Only complaint was that the onsite restaraunt was closed due to computer problems. Hotel offered room service for dinner from a near by restaraunt but did not offer a complimentary breakfast to make up for not having the onsite available.

I was only in Bako for a night. but i've stayed at marriotts before and i'll stay there again. this was everything i'd expect from a marriott. clean and comfy rooms, great staff, and convenience. the price for the night i was here actually beat out some of the other hotels so that was a plus too. although, if i had to pay more for the marriott, i would have.

I was given a handicapped room and it was very nice and helpful. Had my little toy poodle with me and they accomodated her although they do charge for the dog and extra for the handicap room. But it was worth it. Thanks.

The Best Western Hill House is conveniently located and a lovely notel, especially for the price. The room was well appointed and very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. They're working on the restaurant so that wasn't available, but there are plenty of restaurants nearby. This would be an especially good place to stay if you're attending a conference at the Convention Center as it is very conveniently located.

Wish I had this bed at home!!

I stayed here for one night with two HS seniors (during a tour of colleges throughout the State). The staff was friendly and they made sure I got a quiet room.. Of all the hotels we visited during the week, this one had the most comfortable beds. The pillows were even marked "firm" and "soft" just in case we couldn't tell the difference (!). I wish I could have strapped that mattress to the top of my car and brought it home.
The hotel was well maintained and the room was spacious and attractive. It included a mini frig, microwave, desk, and table/chairs. The girls tried the workout room but came back after 10 minutes because it was so hot in that room (not sure why it wasn't air conditioned). The breakfast was OK overall (scrambled eggs, sausage patties, waffles, plus all the standard items) but there was no fruit and they ran out of yogurt (which would have been our preference).
I will stay here again if I ever have reason to return to Bakersfield.

Nice hotel.

The staff were friendly and efficient. The room was spacious, clean and well appointed. There were no refrigerators in the rooms (a feature we like) and no free breakfast. The restaurant was a bit expensive, so we didn't try it. We were there for a funeral, so it wasn't the best of trips all around.

This location is slightly older but is available at a good price in Bakersfield. The wifi was free and quick and the gym was basic but clean and available 24 hours. Good location for a business traveler.

Nice Place to stay when you are on the road. The motel has a big pool and a nice garden around it, the breakfast ist really great and everyone is friendly. The rooms are very clean, even if the furiture is a little bit old yet. We will come back - if we are on a trip on this hwy again...

The hotel was well kept and had a very comfortable bed. The heating/air con unit worked well and was quiet. The manager was kind enough to move his car so we could park in front where it could be seen from the reception desk as we had bikes on the car.
Breakfast is not included but there is a little restaurant attached to the hotel where you can purchase sandwiches, latte etc.

Engineering work/operations training school near Taft. Air travel into Bakersfield was a disaster [...]. An exquisite shower followed by a perfect landing on the pillow top bed smoothed some of the irritation. I'll stay here the next time I'm in town, and hope the air trip is better.

I was bumped from that hotel because it was sold out and sent to their sister hotel, EXTENDED STAY AMERICA that was far inferior. I spent both days their and was unhappy with the conditions of the hotel. The manager, though, was very helpful and considerate of my displeasure with the surroundings and said that they would not charge me for the two days that I spent there, because of the circumstances. They said that they would talk with you ([...]) and let you know that there was no charge.

Hotel was very hard to find. Directions from Google maps sent me to a dead end on the wrong side of the freeway - no signs to indicate the motel from the freeway. Breakfast is only available on weekdays. Extra charge for internet. Room was nice and clean. Ok for the price.

our stay at day inn was nice mostly. our check in was quick, and [...]we were given a room to our satisfaction. the young lady behind the counter arecely was very sweet and helpful.the rooms are large and neat, although the floors could use a better cleaning, and plug ins were difficult. one of our beds was needing replaced, as it was very worn, but the other was fine. they had wireless internet which was very easy to access. the breakfast offered wasnt very large, but it was nice to have something offered. overall it was good stay for what we payed for. we will return

I had a very good experience during my stay. The room was clean, the hotel clerk was very professional and pleasant and checking in was made easy. I would recommend this motel to anyone looking for a nice, clean place to spend the night.
The only thing that did not work out was the whirlpool. The motor burn out that night and that was unfortunate but will not deter me from staying there in the future.

I was very disappointed upon check-in to be told there were no rooms with two double beds available. Because I was traveling with a family member, I specifically chose this hotel with the guarantee on reservation: "1 room, 2 Double beds, mini-fridge, 364sqft 33sqm, living sitting area....etc." There were other choices in accommodations with 2 double beds, however I chose this hotel that appeared to be a good price and location.
The check-in clerk did offer an upgraded suite after much discussion. One of us had to sleep on a pull-out sofa sleeper... not ideal. Pool was very noisy with lots of children until closing @ 11PM, after that hotel was quiet and restful.
A free continental breakfast was NOT available; this doesn't meet expectations of a hotel of this caliber. The $10 breakfast offered didn't look appealing.

It has an inside pool, which is nice when weather outside is not warm or raining. Rooms are spacious and clean. We've got a small fridge on the request, which is nice. Small but cozy restaurant, which has a TV on the wall at each booth. They also provide you with fresh newspaper every morning.

We've stayed at this Holiday Inn several times before since it's about halfway to our daughter's home in Northern California. We always have a nice, relaxing evening before we get up the next morning, have breakfast there, then complete the rest of our trip. The rooms are always clean and comfortable.

Very reasonable and our room was so clean and comfortable. The only problem was that we could hear the loud shower noise from next room(or upstairs?).
I enjoyed the breakfast there and got very satisfied.
I would recommend this hotel to others.

We stayed at this hotel while visiting my parents. We stayed here to have a bit more peace and quiet, also because my parents had gotten rid of all the extra beds in the house in preparation for a move. The room was a decent size and it was larger than what I expected. As advertised there was a fridge and a microwave in the room which was a great asset. The maid service would come at different times so it was hard to tell when the room would be made up. The air conditioning unit was hard to control, it was either very cold or hot. The front desk staff moved extremely slowly at check in and used an outdated carbon copy method to make sure we were all checked-in the process took a lengthy 30 mins. It was a bad first impression but the stay won us over. There were issues with our keys on two occasions but they fixed that right away. I enjoyed our stay and the simplicity of the hotel--I saw as a boon.

This older motel has gotten some nice upgrades in the rooms. Furnishings in the small rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. Good continental breakfast. Pool is older and could use some work, seemed over chlorinated, but made for a nice cool-down after the long drive. Desk staff were very nice. This was fine for an overnite stay on the way north and very reasonable. Well kept little garden with nice tables and chairs in the shady courtyard were a plus.

[...] The room was clean. Soap dispenser in shower was empty, tissue dispenser had three tissues. A trucking company next door with a truck parked 30 feet from window of our room had noisy reefer unit running all night. Insist on even numbered room as they are on the side opposite the trucks.

unpon check-in the unfreindly front desk clerk did n ot check ID and gave attitude when addressed about it....the second morning we went down for the continental breakfast to find most food was gone and not replaced and staff again gave attitutde when address about where the food was and then upon returning to the room out key card would not work due to the ineffincient staff to put it in for the duration of our stay....it was very noist the whole weekend and the best we were told was to endure it due to square dancing group in the hotel....I would not recommend this hotel for the unfreindliness to anyone...
