  • Oct 17, 2011
The hotel was good. The only problem was our room was next to the 4th floor elevator. We were woken several times during the night when people came in after gambling, 2am & 3am. They also had a fight in the room directly above us at 1am, not a good night. The rooms are great, but the hotel is very noisy.

The hotel location is good. The bed was not very comfortable, a little hard but the room itself was a good size. I reserved 2 queen beds through [...] but the hotel said the reservation on their system showed a king suite. They said they didn't have any more 2 queen but we could use the pull out sofa in the suite. Gez thanks. Not ideal but they did comp the breakfast which was very good.

Walking distance to whiskey row :)

  • Tana
  • Aug 23, 2011
We were up there to get out of the heat & enjoy a day of barhopping on the infamous whiskey row. The hotel was a short walk away from the bars which was great come the end of the evening. Rooms were clean & beds/pillows were comfortable . Hot cookies at checkin & free breakfast were a plus. This sealed the deal that we will always try to stay at Springhill Suites. We have had nothing but positive experiences with this chain of hotels.

A one night stand in Prescott. This hotel was run by a Polish couple who were from start to finish friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I wanted to swim at the local Y [aka YMCA]. In Tempe I had a difficult time finding someone who knew were that Y was. But the hotelier at this hotel knew exactly where to go, on the other side of town. I was impressed. We even struck common ground when I told them my daughter was dating the son of Polish immigrants and that my grandmother was Russian/Polish.

Clean, economical. However.....: Lighting is poor with 25 watt bulbs (are they afraid someone will steal the 60 watt bulbs???); mattress foundation well-broken in, with left side in a 4" depression that makes sleep problematic; mattress tends to slide off foundation. Soft drink macfhine out-of-order (perpetual?). Pretty much standard for what you get at the bottom pricng tier in non-descript chain motels

I thought that the Forest Villas was a lovely place to stay. The hotel is very convenient to shopping, dining and local sight seeing. The staff was very nice and the room was very comfortable. The balcony was an added bonus.

The old elevator added to the fun. the dining room in the hotel was great for breakfast and dinner. You can't ask for a better location. It's fun to get away from the chains and experience a hotel with it's own personality.

Very nice budget motel

I stayed 2 nights in a 2nd floor non-smoking room with a queen-size bed. The exterior of the motel looked a bit rough, but inside it was recently renovated with a new shower and heater/AC, no wear on the carpet, and a firm but comfortable mattress. Everything was very clean, and there was no cigarette smell in the room. The heater was responsive to the controls and very consistent, and the fan ran continuously when it was on. Some units cycle on and off, which I find very annoying. I didn't have a chance to try the AC. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is no coffee maker in the room, but they put on coffee in the office at 7am. They offer Motel 6 wi-fi in about 20% of the rooms for 2.99 per 24 hr card. I purchased a card, planning to check my email but didn't use it. My computer said the wi-fi was not protected, and the user agreement indicated that no attempt was made to protect your data. I didn't want to take a chance. The clerk promptly refunded the charge for my unused card without question. I had friends at the Marriott which is on the same street about 1/2 mile away (at triple the rate), and I couldn't see any difference in the neighborhoods.
