Very helpful friendly front desk staff. The room was super clean. We requested extra pillows which were brought up without delay. Large bathroom. Great lighting. Very comfortable beds. Could not have done better.

Well it started out with us going to comedy club then back to hotel it was her birthday and I had a cake, wine, and flowes delivered and they prebooked my room and set up everything wifey was happy and so was I. Orbitz say they have free continental breakfast but they dont need to change online

Great room. Very pleased with size of the room and amenities. Front desk and shuttle driver extremely helpful.

Being on business you don't normally stay in the greatest of hotels. This was a great classy hotel. A great job was done on the restoration of an old builing, keeping its charm, but very modern inside. Good breakfast and cheerful staff. I will be happy to stay there again.

Located conveniently off high,in downtown Birmingham,walking distance of civil rights museum and other historic atttractions. Friendly staff, small gym room but sufficient for our needs, however no pool or gift shop. 15 to 20 minutes away from 24 hour Walmart by highway. Very good trip.Free breakfast each morning.

Staff was friendly and informative, from the front desk to the room attendants. Location is ideal if you are there for 5-points restaurants or bars but still convenient to the medical community and university as well. Rooms are not huge but are spacious and really well appointed......and include free WiFi, which has become a bit of a perk these days. We will not consider staying anywhere else on our next visit, regardless of the rate.

Southern Hospitality, Marriott Style!

I was there for the National Junior Olympic Cross-Country Championships and arrived via Amtrak, a short walk to the Courtyard. The staff were great, assisting me in getting transportation to the airport for my rental, and in general, providing me with a ton of information about the area as it was my first visit to Birmingham.
The availability of a computer for me to file race stories to my area newspapers in New England were a plus. The hotel is in a great spot where there are a number of eateries within walking distance. Spacious rooms, huge TV's, and, again, a staff who were sincere and genuine!

We stayed there because our flight was extremely early the next day. The location is not the best, especially if you are wanting to walk outside.

We spent two nights. This would be a great place if you needed to visit B'ham for longer. Clean, comfortable efficiency. Location is great for UAB/hospitals. But good otherwise as well. Being close to 5 points is nice. Downtown is an easy, though longish walk. Hotel is also on the bus lines, including the DART (cheap, frequent).

Cobb Lane is a lovely old house located in downtown Birmingham. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. A great alternative to the soulless chains, the rooms are packed with Victoriana but still clean and comfortable. Delicious breakfast is served at the dining room table where you will meet the most interesting people. The only tiny inconvenience was the antiquated bathroom: the sink with separate hot and cold faucets, and the tub needed a coat of enamel.

The service was excellant, friendly and knowledgeble staff. Beautiful room, love the mix of old and new accomodations. Right in the middle of the old financial district. For someone that wants to get away from the "cookie cutter" chain hotels, can't beat it!

Nice and clean, friendly staff, quiet and comfortable. We did run out of toilet tissue in our room and they failed to replace the coffee pkg we had used, but those were not severe probs. (thank goodness for the 2 boxes of tissues and free brewed coffee downstairs).

The room was clean, but it was gaps around the door. Scared some was going to crawl in. The hotel was located around a lot of fast food place. So that's good for those who want something quick. Also, the pool close too early.

The hotel room was from the twilight zone. I am most certain of it. The first room we got, the hot water didn't work in the shower, the tv, microwave, and lamp quit working on us. The bathroom light blinks like 10 times before it finally comes on. We had to exchange that room out and get another room. The other room was cleaner and everything worked pretty good, but they need to work on the electrical wiring in that place. The light in that bathroom also took like 10 times before it came on. The sinks have cracks in them. Some banged on our door for like 15 mins at 3:15 in the morning..so sleeping was not easy. I was too scared to see who it was at that hour. They need to fix a few things.

I do believe this hotel had some "ladies of the night" working from some of the rooms! Hubby don't sleep well at night and was outside smoking. Said he seen several men coming at different times out of one lady's room!! Floors were dirty and nightstand had definitely not been wiped off, it had drink spilled all over it . Towels were clean and bed was clean so we stayed. Won't go back again!

this motel was literally not bad for its price.. i went to birmingham with my boyfriend we need a cheap place to stay one night. however the room could be cleaner the bed sheeth was almost nasty the cover felt very humid. when we entered the room the ac wasnt turned on so it was very very hot. but once we turned on the ac it was ok but it took several hours to cool the room, we had to go out instead of resting until the room was cool enough. overall not bad for the price and a short stay.

Entering the parking lot I was approached by a vagrant, which startled me. That was my first impression. The front of the hotel was fine but I had to park my car in the back, which was not well-lit.
The room itself was clean, but outdated. And the hotel's main areas were clean and well-maintained.

Good location, good price.
Everything else was sub-par.
Walked in to find a dead roach on the floor and fecal remains in the toilet.
Asked for a non-smoking room but it was on floor designated for smoking and my room was at the end of the hall.
No ice was available in the hotel!

Not what you expect from a Marriott.

It was not what I expected from a Marriott. The bathroom door frame was sprung, and would not close fully. The carpets were dirty. The noise from the freeway was very loud. The lack of soundproofing between the floors was very apparent. The only good thing about the stay was the staff. They were very good in their job. I've stayed in a lot of Residence Inn's, but this one really soured me on the chain. The TV in the room was a 19" tube. You've got to be kidding me!

They charged an outrageous $75 pet fee for a one night stay. This was the cost of room itself. Also, my daughter left her precious teddy bear in the room and they could not find it! I had to call everyday for four days just to talk with their director of housekeeping and they were still unable to locate the teddy bear.

room was clean! room was more like apartment, there were no dishes or pans in kitchen. furniture was real outdated. had a balcony that was nice. i liked the room because it was quit and felt safe there. It was worth the money.. more privacy than a normal hotel.

I enjoyed my stay at the Rime garden inn except the fact that the heating unit didn,t warm up my room too good.I was cold during my entire stay. i enyoyed the complimentary breakfast but the sorry heating system ruined my stay.
