London Hotels
London
Vibrant and truly multicultural, London is a megalopolis of
people, ideas and energy. The capital and largest city of both the United
Kingdom and of England, it is also the largest city in Western Europe and the
European Union. Situated on the River Thames in South-East England, Greater
London has an official population of nearly 8 million people — although the
figure of over 14 million for the city's total metropolitan area more
accurately reflects London's size and importance. London is one of the great
"world cities," and remains a global capital of culture, fashion,
finance, politics and trade.
London hosts an outstanding collection of world-class
museums. Even better, it is the only one of the traditional world cities in
which the majority of the museums have no entrance charges, allowing visitors
to make multiple visits with ease. Many of the best museums and galleries are
free including the British Museum, the National Gallery, and the National
Portrait Gallery.
Take a walk through London's Royal Parks. A good walk would
start at Paddington station, and head through Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park,
Green Park (passing Buckingham Palace) and St James Park before crossing
Trafalgar Square and the River Thames to the South Bank and Waterloo Station.

We upgraded to a suite. I was told all suites were the same. However, the one we ended up with was not the sames as I had been shown.
We checked out and were to be picked up to be driven to the airport the morning of the Olympic Marathon. We were not told of this and had to walk almost 1/2 mile to meet our ride to the airport.

It could have been perfect
- Lilith B.
- Nov 25, 2012
This is a great hotel in a perfect location of London at surprisingly reasonable prices for London. I would have given raving reviews, but I had an incident that left bad aftertaste. As I was rushing out in frenzy, I left behind few items in one drawer. My girlfriend who lives in London called them up and went to retrieve the forgotten items the following day. When I got home, I discovered that the items that were new, in the original package, were missing. It was few sets of expensive underwear. It’s the concept that is ugly. It’s sad how one employee can give the hotel a bad name.
On the positive note, there were some exceptional employees, like Daniel at the front desk who checked me in. He took his times, even showed some rooms, introduced upgrade options. All and all, I would recommend it, but would suggest not to leave anything behind ;).

I have stayed at Flemings twice in the past year and would come again without hesitation. Flemings Mayfair is in a terrific location with easy access to central London sites and just two blocks from Green Park tube that is direct from Heathrow. The rooms are very clean and richly decorated but quite small with little room to do more than get around the bed. Even so, I'd highly recommend Flemings for terrific location, very helpful staff, and good value.

London, Paris, London
- Mom and daughter travelle
- Jun 29, 2012
While visiting London, my daughter and I took the Eurostar to Paris for a two- day trip. I knew the Megaro Hotel was close to the train station, so I reserved a room there for our return. The staff was very accommodating and let me leave my bags with them entire day before I was to checked in, so that I could enjoy Paris without lugging our bags around.
Upon my return to London, I appreciated How close the hotel was to the station. It is directly across the street. It's distinctive markings allow you to find it instantly.
The Megaro has a very modern look and feel.Very artsy and kinda trendy. Although the rooms reminded me of a very nice dorm or something. Clean but I could tell a smoker or a few smokers had been in the room. It was also easy to notice a bit of rotting/ mildew around the tube. They should totally work on the bathrooms. They do have free wi-fi and pretty good channel selection.
I only stayed over night and had to check out early to get to Heathrow, so again I really appreciate the location to the station, but there was nothing else in the area to see and I wished you didn't have to walk past the trash receptacles to get into the hotel. Could have used a complimentary breakfast too.
Overall, my stay was okay. I did not stay long and it was super convenient for my travel itinerary. I want to complain about the price, but I would pay it again just because it was across the street. It's not a four star hotel, but I recommend a short stay like mine.

The hotel was very nice and very conveniently located in order to easily travel to many of the typical London attractions. The opposite side of Piccadilly Circus from where the hotel is located can be extremely busy and a little rambunctious at night. However, we didn't notice it on the side where the hotel is located. The concierge was helpful, with the exception of one we encountered. The room was small, but I guess typical for London. The beds were extremely comfortable.

I had a wonderful experience staying at the Grange Blooms. It's around the corner from the British Museum and close to Covent Garden. There's easy access to the Underground and it's located in the nice clean and comfortable neighborhood of Bloomsbury. The internet access is a bit of a rip-off so look for an internet cafe if you want to check email. Otherwise, it's the perfect place to stay.

Lovely, comfortable, convenient
-

- Aug 12, 2010
This place was lovely, bright, and very convenient: right on the Piccadilly line Tube from Heathrow, around the corner from the British Museum, and walking distance from all the theatre and dining we wanted (from Soho to Piccadilly Circus). The international staff were always very cordial and helpful. We didn't try the dining facilities, but we made good use of the complimentary in-room coffee service, as well as the pour-your-own, bill-your-room "courtesy bar" in the main lobby -- a nice touch.
I hate to say there were things I "didn't like". But as far as noise, though the corridors were always silent, I do admit being woken up by morning phonecalls taking place in the rooms above AND next door. And as far as cleanliness, everything always looked clean, but the toilet in particular was clearly not; I would have cleaned it better myself given the tools. (We checked in Tuesday morning and stayed a week; on the Saturday evening I came back and said, "Wow, they actually cleaned this time!", but even then it wasn't quite quite.) However, these were small details and on the whole it was a quite satisfactory stay with excellent value.

Delightful hotel
-

The Grange Rochester was nicely decorated, in excellent condition, conveniently located, with a very friendly and helpful staff. Although our room was not large, by London standards it was quite adequate. A bus line ran in front of the hotel, but it was also very easy to walk to many areas, including Buckingham Palace. The hotel is on the historic register, so they are not able to air condition, so I'm not sure what a summer visit would be like. We were there in October so there was no problem. Our only complaint was the price of breakfast in the hotel, if it's not included in your room rate, but there were many cafes nearby. I also was disappointed at the fee for wifi. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel.

The hotel and location were wonderful for the price. Unfortunately, the wetaher did not cooperate. Aside from a few minor items that just need some extra attention, this botique hotel met our expectations and needs. The free Wi-Fi is a grat touch, since most other hotels charge extra. Unfortunately, we did not dine in-house at the hotel; therefore unable to comment on their dining experience. The surrounding area offers a vast assortment of shops and dining experiences to enjoy and to cater to almost anyones needs. A friendly neighborhood atmosphere, you do not feel like you are caught up in a tourist trap. Transportation is easily accessible and convenient to use. Be cautious of a 3% charge for gratuities, that will/can be added to your bill at checkout if you are not aware or did not use any of their services. I would and will definetly recommend and return to TEN Manchester Street Hotel. Keep up the good work and stay alert and keep your attention to the small details - and more positive impression at the fron desk. Overall it was an enjoyable stay - looking forward to a repeat stay.

Nice, clean, quiet hotel in Marylebone area of London. Near Baker Street tube stop and very close ot Regents Park. Easy walk to Oxford Street shopping. This is a lovely place. Any of the reviews that complained about this hotel are highly suspect. I'm as tough as they come and this place exceeded expectations. Only one issue - bathroom doors are frosted glass. A little freaky for some. Hot water in the shower sometimes absent.

Christmas in London
- Jan 2, 2012
The Montague is lovely at Christmas-- a smiling staff, festive decorations, and the view on to the beautiful gardens is not to be missed. The hotel decor has a great deal of character, the rooms are very comfortable, and we appreciated the cleanliness of the accommodations. We booked a package, then were asked GBP 10 a night to assure a suite facing towards the back. A small reason for concern: five bar charges, some of them substantial, were made to our room, without our knowledge. They were taken off when we informed the hotel they were not ours, however.

Arrived early and were greeted immediately and warmly by staff. Our room was not yet ready but the concierge offered suggested activities to pursue in the interim. We were served complimentary tea while considering our plans. The room was small but seemed larger due to the high ceilings. The decor was beautiful, old English. The appointments were quite nice, as was the complimentary internet. Breakfast was delicious and served by a most attentive staff. The concierge made excellent suggestions regarding restaurants in the area. All on the staff were courteous, friendly, warm, and most helpful. We spent most of the days in London sightseeing, attending theater and the concierge helped us with maps, hailing taxis, etc.

Sauberes, freundliches Hotel, nettes, hilfsbereites Personal.

Excellent stay

- Nov 29, 2012
We stayed at this hotel twice over the course of our week vacation and both time had an excellent experience. The highlight of the stay though was probably the 16gbp breakfast buffet. The buffet was 8+ stations of every kind of breakfast food you could need from fruits to meats to coffee/tea and even strawberry infused water.
The rooms were reasonably sized, clean, and most importantly quiet (outside sirens notwithstanding). The hotel is a quick 5-7 minute walk from Lambeth North station (Bakerloo line) and a 10-15 minute walk from Waterloo. We easily walked from the hotel to Westminster Bridge / London Eye and headed to Elephant & Castle to head over towards the London Tower/Bridge.
I could go on and on, but I'll leave you with one nice thing and one not so nice thing... the hotel rooms come with a complementary umbrella to use during your stay but they did not come with a iron/ironing board. I did not check to see if I could request an iron though, but if you're in town on business, it's something to consider.

Not many London hotels can claim a place in literary history. But The Kingsley certainly can. Named after Charles Kingsley, author of the classics Westward Ho! and The Water Babies, it was once home to EM Forster, one of the famous 'Bloomsbury Group', who worked on A Room with a View while living here.
And from The Kingsley, you'll have a wonderful perspective on the capital too. From the hotel, London landmarks like the British Museum, Covent Garden, Oxford Street, the leafy squares of Bloomsbury and the West End theatres are within easy walking distance.
We have 129 bedrooms, including Deluxe and Executive rooms and Junior Suite. With seven meeting rooms, the largest seating 100 people theatre-style, and six syndicate rooms, The Kingsley is an ideal setting for business meetings and events; we're also a popular London wedding venue. London isn't the easiest place to bring a car, but there's parking available nearby at an additional charge.
Whether you're in London for work or pleasure, The Kingsley's blend of contemporary comforts and Edwardian charm is definitely something to write home about.

My only complaint is that it doesn't have air conditioning and was stuffy. Having said that, the beds were comfy, the hotel is charming. The location is wonderful. It is one block from the British Museum, and one block from many great eateries and pubs. Also, the Russell Square station is a short walk from the hotel. The staff were very helpful and nice. Breakfast is expensive.

An absolutely first rate stay at a first rate hotel. Perhaps the most outstanding feature is the ability of the staff to make everyone feel completely comfortable. I am unfortunately not in the habit of staying in hotels in this price range on a regular basis but as a special treat it was well worth it. Whether dining in the Savoy Grill, having cocktails in the American Bar or simply being shown to our room, the staff made my wife and I feel completely at home. I may have to wait for the kids to graduate from college before I go again but I know that I will be looking forward to it.
