London Hotels
London
Vibrant and truly multicultural, London is a megalopolis of
people, ideas and energy. The capital and largest city of both the United
Kingdom and of England, it is also the largest city in Western Europe and the
European Union. Situated on the River Thames in South-East England, Greater
London has an official population of nearly 8 million people — although the
figure of over 14 million for the city's total metropolitan area more
accurately reflects London's size and importance. London is one of the great
"world cities," and remains a global capital of culture, fashion,
finance, politics and trade.
London hosts an outstanding collection of world-class
museums. Even better, it is the only one of the traditional world cities in
which the majority of the museums have no entrance charges, allowing visitors
to make multiple visits with ease. Many of the best museums and galleries are
free including the British Museum, the National Gallery, and the National
Portrait Gallery.
Take a walk through London's Royal Parks. A good walk would
start at Paddington station, and head through Kensington Gardens, Hyde Park,
Green Park (passing Buckingham Palace) and St James Park before crossing
Trafalgar Square and the River Thames to the South Bank and Waterloo Station.

Great Location-Nice Hotel-Excellent Staff
-

- Apr 23, 2012
So convenient! All the staff were so competent and polite, it made my 3-day stay a real pleasure. I felt so well looked after at the Park Lane. The concierges gave great advice on restaurants, tours--even church services. When I needed a reading light--someone was there with one within 10 minutes of my phone call. I couldn't ask for more attentive, interested service. Green Park tube station is just a 2 minute away, so's the start of the double-decker bus tour of London.

Description
A luxury boutique hotel perfectly placed on Sloane Street, The Cadogan combines English hospitality at its best with home comforts reminiscent of a private address. Located in the heart of Knightsbridge - arguably London's premier location, the hotel was once home to Lillie Langtry consort to King Edward VII and the London address of Oscar Wilde.
Amidst this bustling city street lies a private garden reserved for guests of the hotel and surrounding residents, fully equipped with tennis courts, this secluded area is a serene escape.
At 125 years of age, The Cadogan shares its surrounding streets with some of the finest retail and designer names. Hermes, Cartier, Harrods and Harvey Nichols to name but a few are all a few steps away. Other local attractions include The Natural History Museum; one of the most beautiful buildings in London, both inside and out and the Tate Gallery; housing one of the country's greatest art collections.

Under Renovation
-
eangelson
- Nov 21, 2012
The two reasons I am not giving a five star rating on our second stay at the Chancery Court this year: 1) The hotel is under major renovation, which makes the rooms and restaurant very noisy during the day. That is something that should be made clear at the time of the reservation, rather than a surprise upon arrival; 2) Last time we stayed in a lovely unrenovated room on the 1st Floor. This time, even though the renovation is ongoing, there were no unrenovated rooms available. The design of the renovated rooms is, well, a bit goofy, with wide striped carpeting and pretty bad lighting. For instance, you need a flashlight to see the thermostat at night, since it is not backlit and none of the room lights shine on it's lcd display.
All in all the room and bed were very comfortable. The bathroom was beautiful, late night room service was freshly prepared, delivered hot and was delicious, the staff (other than those in the Pearl Restaurant for breakfast, who were rude and hurrying us along) is very friendly and accommodating. It should be a a lovely place to stay again, as soon as the renovation is complete.

Hotel location is ideal, a two-minute walk from Holborn tube station, which is a direct journey from Heathrow on the Piccadilly line. British Museum is a five-minute walk and many other sights are within a 15-20 minute walk. The Holborn stop makes travel anywhere in central London easy. Hotel is immaculate. We stayed for five nights in two rooms on the club level, with two double beds in each room, and were very pleased with the size of the rooms and amenities. Our rooms faced High Holborn, but we never noticed traffic noise in what is a very busy area. Nice selection of pubs, shops, etc., within a few minutes' walk, as well as many choices for food and convenience items.

The hotel staff greeted us weary travelers with smiles and helped us out in every way... The room was even better than expected... service and staff took care of every request... From beginning to end... From greeting, to wake up call, to bringing us to the room, to handling the luggage, to lovely bath items, to turn-down service with fresh water, to excellent cleaning, to heated towels, to electrical converter, to EVERY DETAIL, ETC., this hotel exceeded our expectations and provided us a very nice stay. It was walking distance to Buckingham Palace, Piicadilly, museums, shopping, good food, and much more. We would happily stay there again.... Thank you!!

Luxurious hotel in Financial District
-
jlnz
- Dec 30, 2012
Stayed in this Financial District hotel with my boyfriend over the Christmas period. We both really enjoyed the hotel. The lobby is beautiful with a 24 hr "honesty bar" so that you can sip champagne beneath the giant stained glass dome in the ceiling. For £3 more, you can drink the same champagne in your bath tube with strawberries and cream!
The location OK - it is close to St Paul's and London bridge, right behind the stock exchange, and there is easy access to the tube (Bank), but because it is the financial district, it is not in the center of London's nightlife (caveat is that this was over Christmas). It is a 5-10 min walk from the Thames.
The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Shower was fantastic, bath products high quality and the bed super comfortable. I highly recommend the hotel and would certainly stay here again.

The hotel was very nice and very conveniently located in order to easily travel to many of the typical London attractions. The opposite side of Piccadilly Circus from where the hotel is located can be extremely busy and a little rambunctious at night. However, we didn't notice it on the side where the hotel is located. The concierge was helpful, with the exception of one we encountered. The room was small, but I guess typical for London. The beds were extremely comfortable.

The hotel and location were wonderful for the price. Unfortunately, the wetaher did not cooperate. Aside from a few minor items that just need some extra attention, this botique hotel met our expectations and needs. The free Wi-Fi is a grat touch, since most other hotels charge extra. Unfortunately, we did not dine in-house at the hotel; therefore unable to comment on their dining experience. The surrounding area offers a vast assortment of shops and dining experiences to enjoy and to cater to almost anyones needs. A friendly neighborhood atmosphere, you do not feel like you are caught up in a tourist trap. Transportation is easily accessible and convenient to use. Be cautious of a 3% charge for gratuities, that will/can be added to your bill at checkout if you are not aware or did not use any of their services. I would and will definetly recommend and return to TEN Manchester Street Hotel. Keep up the good work and stay alert and keep your attention to the small details - and more positive impression at the fron desk. Overall it was an enjoyable stay - looking forward to a repeat stay.

Nice, clean, quiet hotel in Marylebone area of London. Near Baker Street tube stop and very close ot Regents Park. Easy walk to Oxford Street shopping. This is a lovely place. A little freaky for some. Hot water in the shower sometimes absent.

Sauberes, freundliches Hotel, nettes, hilfsbereites Personal.

An absolutely first rate stay at a first rate hotel. Perhaps the most outstanding feature is the ability of the staff to make everyone feel completely comfortable. I am unfortunately not in the habit of staying in hotels in this price range on a regular basis but as a special treat it was well worth it. Whether dining in the Savoy Grill, having cocktails in the American Bar or simply being shown to our room, the staff made my wife and I feel completely at home. I may have to wait for the kids to graduate from college before I go again but I know that I will be looking forward to it.

My sister and I stayed one night before flying back to the US after a Eurostar trip to Paris. The service was outstanding, and the hotel is just lovely. I would definitely stay there again. My only criticism is that for the price, I thought the room would be a bit larger.

Nice, comfortable rooms with free wifi and fresh fruit. Getting to the room may require a map as the old building is built like a maze, but this is part of the experience. The gym could be seriously improved (even a workout bench would be an important addition).

When you get in there, you feel like you just walked into Richard Branson's place. This hotel is like the Virgin Mobile of hotels. The look is elegant and modern, and the styling lines of the glass atrium really set it off.
Aside from that though, it wasn't much to 'wow' over. The room was very simplistic. For every amenity, this hotel was looking to pound you. I understand that nobody gets anything for free, but when you're paying 250 pounds a night, you'd think they'd include internet.
If you're going to foot the bill for this place, I'd choose a different hotel. If the company puts you up though, this would be a very accommodating hotel.

Fabulous location in Mayfair . . . and a great place to arrive at after landing at Heathrow. The reception staff is very well-trained and pleasant; the lobby is wood and stone that appears to have been a 1960's design very well maintained. The rooms are not large, but are ample; the bathrooms are modern and spotless. WiFi is free - and there really is no nickel-and-diming for other items. The hotel has several restaurants, although I only tried the breakfast room and the bar/restaurant. Breakfast is served, not a buffet, and the porridge, wheat toast, fruit and coffee were first rate. The menu at the lobby bar/restaurant was not extensive, but I particularly liked the Mediterranean vegetable sandwich on rough wheat bread: an excellent meal to have after a long flight, and light enough have without feeling stuffed and lethargic. The rooms are very well isolated acoustically, air conditioned, and the windows open as well. All in all, the Westbury is well run and well maintained, a great value near great shopping, Saville Row, and the best of the West End. I paid more than the cost of this room to stay in London over 20 years ago.

Description
From its dazzling location at the hub of Covent Garden, West End theatres and Trafalgar Square, St Martins Lane is a dramatic and daring reinvention of the urban resort. Smart, witty and sophisticated, Philippe Starck's design is a brilliant collision of influences - from the modern to the baroque - that suffuses the hotel with energy, vitality and magic. Entered through improbably tall, luminescent yellow-glass revolving doors-the tallest in London-St Martins Lane's lobby is a soaring and theatrical space that offers a provocative manipulation of dimension and proportion. Starck presents a visually stunning play on scale, with oversized columns and angled niches painted a deep fluorescent yellow, complemented by Portuguese limestone floors. From its acid-etched, double-height yellow glass facade to its unpredictable plays on vivid color to the dramatic series of columns that appear as shining towers, St Martins Lane's lobby is a triumph of color and light.
