Very comfortable hotel. Good value for money. Located near Underground, major shops, cafƩs etc. Staff stressed and sometimes very unfriendly. Especially those cashing breakfast buffet: We felt as if we had been here by charity and not as hotel guests! Held a Weetabix in the hand when walking out of restaurant and was shouted at: You're not allowed to take food out of the hotel!!! 1 (one) Weetabix...!

Comfortable hotel. Reception and guest service staff all in all nice, but wanted to send us away because room wasn't ready - he said. I asked him to check - of course room was ready. Breakfast reception impossible: behaving as if guests were staying on charity basis.
Hotel as such very good.

Nice, friendly and helpful staff. The room was very small, would be a tight fit for more than one person but the room was impressively clean.
Check in was easy.
Perfect location to the tube, about two minute walk along with a market and mall across the street.
The free WiFi was random which made it difficult to do anything online but there is an Internet cafe around the corner near the post office.
Overall, a very nice experience at this hotel.

We've stayed at the Regency before and were delighted to return. The room "makeover" was contemporary and chic. Yes, the rooms are small but had all the space we needed. The lobby was nice but will be even better when the current renovation is completed. We also enjoyed the ambiance (quiet) and friendly staff at the Bar/Restaurant. The hotel was spotless and the location is perfect...near the Tube...and in a beautiful neighborhood We look forward to staying at this hotel in the future.

Chic design, but not the most practical...
Black marble floors and walls in the bathroom make it dark. Heated towel racks are great, but can't be reached from the tub. Drain in the middle of the tub is curious. Black wood floors are chic, but cold on the feet and contribute to dark feeling.

I stayed at this hotel for more than a week in September. Overall speaking, it was better than expected as I had read some bad reviews about the hotel before the booking. I decided to choose this hotel because of its location. The hotel is close to the tube station south kensington that connects to the piccadilly, circle and district lines. There are bus stops right around the corner and by the station as well. Very close to V&A which is a can't miss in London in my opinion. And there are many other attractions near by: national history museum, science museum, royal albert hall, hyde park, serpentine gallery, harrods all within walking distance.
Complimentary tea bags, coffee and sugar refilled daily in the room which is ultra nice especially after a long walking, rainy and cold day and intensive sightseeing.
The hotel offers wifi service at a rate of GBP 15 for 24 hours. ButIi was able to pick up another wifi service provider's signal at the hotel and paid GBP 15 for 5 day access. It was stable and fast.
My room was facing the street, so I can hear cars passing and people talking. I can also hear door slamming, elevator coming and going and people in rooms next to me. Light sleepers would probably find this annoying. I didn't try the hotel's breakfast as there are many other restaurants by the tube station.

Not bad but not sure it was exceptional. Excellent staff helps a lot. Location is amazing for touring London. Very small hotel with an elevator that will only hold 1 or 2 people - some might be clausterphobic. Some may find the post war style to be quaint and attractive, but seemed to need remodeling to me. Attractive lobby makes leaves you expecting more from the room.

The room was fine. BUT .... don't pay attention to the talks of the neighbours in the corridor AND don't be a rugby-player if you want to move in the bathroom. Overall it is convenient if you need to be in this area of London, and that's why I COULD (not I would) consider recommending this hotel to a friend..

Hotel was old but clean. I was initially put in a smoking room as they reported not receiving my request for a non-smoking room. This was unbearable as the room is carpeted, with wallpaper and full of upholstered furniture and the stench of smoke was unescapable. They were unable to move me that night but did keep their word and moved me the following morning. Internet was overpriced.

Nice comfy hotel. Friendly staff, great shower, comfortable bed, flat screen TV, good air-conditioner and NO SMOKING!! Only one elevator and the room a bit small, but one does not go to London to vegitate in a room. Sainsbury grocery a block away, internet cafe down the street, Gloucester Road tube station within easy walking distance. We'd definitely stay there again.

If you want to be within walking distance of Kensington Palace/Garden, Hyde Park, the V&A and Natural History Museums, and the Royal Albert Hall, this is as good a location as it gets. The Gloucester Road tube station is right around the corner from the hotel on the Piccadilly, Circle, and District Lines so you can get anywhere very easily, including the cheapest way to and from Heathrow (taxi = 60 GBP vs. 7 GBP tube fare). There are numerous restaurants, pubs, bakeries, grocery stores, and shops in the neighborhood. Also, Kensington High Street shopping (e.g., Harrods) just a tube stop away (or a bit further walk). Hotel internet access is not included and is expensive. Also, no breakfast included and no frig in the room.

location is excellent. very close to Gloucester Rd tube station.
very good amenities. spacious kitchen and living area. free wifi spotty. I sat by the entrance door to get good reception.
elevator was tiny.
staff were not consistent. some very knowledgeable about tourist areas and how to get about, others were not.
This is an excellent choice for those who can get around London and want an apartment to live in. I would stay there again having learned how to use the subway and train system.

Comfy and Classy Hotel, Perfect Location
-
Dave and Lorena
- Oct 30, 2012
We found the Rembrandt Hotel to be comfortable, clean, and even modestly classy. The staff were superb, they made us feel like we were staying in the Ritz Carlton. The location is amazing for a tourist, right across from the Victoria & Albert museum, Natural History museum, Kensington Park, a short walk to Harrod's, and too much more to list. The South Kensington tube station is right down the street. There are plenty of very good restaurants within a few minutes walk.
It is hard to criticize the hotel, we had minor problem with the air conditioning which the staff fixed the next day. The included breakfast was a bit dull, although quite plentiful. These are minor criticisms though. Frequent tourists in the UK and continental Europe know hotel experiences can be "interesting" to say the least, but we would recommend the Rembrandt to anyone. And the internet price we got was less than we expected for downtown London. All in all, a great experience.
Prices reflect the lowest "base rate" found over the next 30 days. Rates are subject to change and may not include taxes and fees, hotel service charges, extra person charges, or incidentals, such as room service. Converted rates are provided for your convenience. They are based on today's exchange rate, but the hotel will charge you in the local currency. taxes may be payable in addition
