Please note check-in for the Morrison Apartments are located at the main reception at 121 Grove Street, Edinburgh, EH3 8AA. The reception is open 24hrs. Photographic ID is required upon check-in. Car parking is available on a first come first served basis and costs 8 per day.

This is my second time staying at Fountain Court Morrison. They have since moved their reception up the street. It's a bit of a walk to check in, but they now offer 24 hour service. The rooms are adequate but might be in need of some updating. Everything was as expected, but it was missing those individual touches we had on our last trip (EX: bread and jam left in the the kitchen for us) . I would have not problem staying here again.

Booked Morrison Street as we had a wedding at Craighouse. So we went to Morrison Street only to discover we had to go to about half a mile away to check in. We were upgraded, which was nice of them, due to us needing the room quickly to shower and change, due to arriving at said wedding on time. Lord knows what the appartment would have been like before we got upgraded!!!
Perhaps we didn't read the booking form correctly but check in is not where we thought it was and they even have car park facilities. Would have saved us a tenner if we had known. Still the Fountain Court Cafe was excellent.

We have now completed our comprehensive refurbishment which included all of the hotels private rooms, bar area and foyer. The high ceilings, beautiful traditional cornicing, bay windows and chocolate and plum colour scheme complement one another wonderfully. This small hotel prides itself on modern, clean and fresh accommodation along with high standards of customer service. Fully refurbished, each of the private hotel rooms now boasts an LCD TV with built-in Freeview, tea/coffee making facilities and a brand new modern en suite bathroom. With stylish contemporary dcor and crisp white cotton sheets, the rooms are attractive, modern and comfortable. Please note, we do not have lift facilities.

Mein Zimmer war ein Doppelzimmer, aber für zwei Personen wäre es zu klein gewesen. Es war absolut sauber, allerdings konnte ich nicht feststellen, dass mein Bad während meiner vier Tage dort einmal gesäubert wurde. Sogar die auszuwechselnden Handtücher, die ich in die Dusche gelegt hatte, lagen am Abend noch dort, obwohl das Bett gemacht war.
Die Leute im Hotel waren ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit, allerdings war nachts niemand da (nur für dringende Notfälle gab es eine Telefonnummer, die man anrufen konnte) und da es im Hotel auch Mehrbettzimmer gibt, die vor allem durch Jugendliche genutzt werden, die spät in der Nacht zurückkommen und dann in den Gängen kichern und sich laut unterhalten, kann man niemanden bitten, für Ordnung zu sorgen.

Decent, Basic almost city centre hotel, within easy walking distance of the west end and suitable for those on a budget.
It was only let down by the room service, our room wasnt serviced over the 3 days we styed there. On two days in a row - The beds WERE straightened, but the dirty/wet towels were left on the floor, there was NO toilet roll and used cups were left on the dresser. Why would someone come in and NOT service the whole room ?

From the moment I stepped in I felt as if I had been transported back to a finer and gentler time. From the old clock that had been in the original railway station, to the grand staircase, no detail had been overlooked. It was luxurious and comfortable. The staff were all welcoming. When I checked in I was given a room upgrade (I'm not sure why.) I had the most beautiful view of Edinburgh Castle and since the tattoo was on I got treated to fireworks each night. The staff bent over backwards to make sure that all my wants and needs were being taken care of. I'd like to particularly commend the restaurant staff and the team of concierges who helped me with everything from booking tours to helping me with driving directions to remote parts of Scotland. Across the street is the not to be missed bar/restaurant/club Ghillie Dhu. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.
