A good place to come home to after a day of sight seeing. The staff was always helpful and polite. You'll never want to stay in a regular hotel again. The location was good and taxis to the train and bus stations were reasonable.

It's not your run of the mill hotel atmosphere (no pool) but we had 2 bedrooms with 2 bathrooms. There was a washer/dryer and a full kitchen in the unit along with a living room. It was clean and convenient with a helpful staff. I would certainly stay there again in the future.

a loverly friendly hotel.Although i did get a parking place.there are only 6 spaces.I think most guests arrive by air or rail.The Room was loverly,But could do with being a little warmer.A 10 min walk into the centre.We intend to go back.But you will need a Sat Nav to get you around the city streets

My husband, daughter and I stayed at apartment 1 for 2 nights. We enjoyed our stay as the service was excellent. We had a problem with the bath plug (which was stuck!) and we called their 24 hours reception at 11.30pm and within minutes someone came round to fix it. The 'double headed' shower was a bit confusing at first but we managed to work it out. Overall it was good experience and would happily recommend it.

What a hotel - despite being have a great location in the middle of Edinburgh (less than 5 minute walk to Haymarket), the "hotel room" was actually a huge two-bedroom apartment complete with well equipped kitchen. Great price - made even better with an Orbitz coupon - really sealed the deal. Highly recommended!

This is the second Fountain Court apartment/hotel in Edinburgh I have stayed in (the other being Harris), and just like their other properties it is new, clean and of generally high quality.
The location is great - just far enough from Princes Street so as to not be bothered by the crowds / tram works (still going...), but close enough to places like Lothian Road and Haymarket to have your pick of bars and resturants.
Highly recommended for short or long term stays, group or single travel.

Description
The newly refurbished Royal Ettrick Hotel in Edinburgh is set within the mature, leafy Victorian suburbs to the south of Edinburgh city centre. This Hotel provides the perfect getaway from the bustle of the city whilst still being within walking distance of The Old Town. This popular residential area of the city has housed some of its most famous inhabitants, past and present including Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling and John Napier, the inventor of the decimal point! Built in the 1860's as the grand home of a rich Edinburgh barrister, The Royal Ettrick remained a private residence until it was converted into a hotel during the 1940's. The hotel offers 17 bedrooms situated across all three floors of the property and the upstairs accommodation is accessed via the original ornate staircase. All rooms benefit from conveniences such as en-suite bathrooms, televisions and Tea & Coffee making facilities. Upon arrival to the hotel you will be greeted at reception by our friendly staff who will do their utmost to ensure your stay is relaxed and enjoyable. In the morning a full Scottish cooked breakfast and continental selection are served in The Conservatory Bistro on the ground floor. Flooded with natural light and with views across our private garden which can offer al fresco dining (weather permitting), The Conservatory Bistro offers a full menu throughout the day with restaurant dining in the evening. The hotel also houses The International Bar, offering true Scottish colour and character with a traditional pub feel and broad range of regular customers and guests alike, serving a wide selection of food and drinks you can be sure to find something new and enjoyable. With our private car park and ease of access to the Edinburgh bypass any travelling is simple and relaxed. Superb public transport links also service the hotel with two main bus services into the heart of the city stopping directly in front of the hotel, with Waverley Train Station under 1.5 miles away and Edinburgh Airport only 5.5 miles away all travel and connections are quick and easy.

Our experience at the Fountain Court Apts EQ2 was very pleasant. Our apartment was very lovely, modern, and clean. The location was great, very close to Old Town and within walking distance of just about everything. Several restaurants are right across the canal from the apartment complex, so very convenient. Our 2nd night in the apartment, we had a gas leak in the gas meter. The person in the reception office handled the situation very well, calling the gas company and moving us into another apartment for the remaining 3 nights of our stay. Overall, the experience was very nice and we would highly recommend this property to anyone traveling to Edinburgh, especially for a longer period of time.

Have stayed here several times - it is a good base for business users. Can seem a bit off the track but in fact centrally located. The location is ideal for a city centre base - no traffic noise and very little pedestrian noise too. Very noisy early morning carpet cleaning in the hallway and being phoned up by reception 5 minutes after the due checkout (making me go back into room I was exiting) were only two niggles. They seem to have stopped leaving breakfast items in the fridge - no great hardship as there are several minmarkets nearby including a Sanisburys and Co-op. Pleasnat, reasonably kitted out, anonymous accomodation near Edinburgh city centre at a reasonable rate (for the UK).

Very nice hotel, excellent room with the comfiest bed I have EVER slept in. Only slight quibble was the limited parking available. Would definitely recommend.

This newly built apartment hotel block, completed beginning 2007, is situated at Lochrin Place, close to both The Exchange financial district and the rest of the city centre. It enjoys the benefits of a central location that allows easy access to the main shopping areas of Princes Street and George Street as well as to the many stylish bars and restaurants. These luxury apartment hotels have two bedrooms with large lounge and dining area, fully fitted kitchen and bathroom and shower facilities which compliment the Luxury standard elsewhere in Dreamhouse's owned apartments. Home comfort and modern amenities provides a luxurious stay to both business and leisure guests for long-term as well as short-term stay. While staying here we took an overnight tour through Scotland. The Point Hotel kindly secured our luggage while we were away for the night so we wouldn't have to drag it along. This was great because even though we had not paid to stay in hotel this night they didn't charge for this convenience, though we did stay another night upon our return from tour. Great, friendly and helpful staff. Call a cab, You got it, find an after hour place to eat, You got it. My kid of service.
