The staff at the hotel was extremely helpful. They went out of their way to meet our needs (getting us a car- without a driver/ guide) and ensuring we were seeing/ enjoying our time in Hualien. The hotel is clean and provides you with all your essentials. It is very close to some great local food hangouts, and is near the main 'high street' area too. Defintely recommend it!!!

Description
Hualien Chateau de Chine Hotel is the first international resort hotel in Eastern Taiwan which features the environmental concept of "Green Hotel." Its chic and vivid exterior is inspired by the artist style of Piet Mondrian, evoking a sense of vacation before guests even enter the hotel. The hotel provides free shuttle service between the hotel, airport and train station, as well as travel consultation for our guests. We are 45 minutes from Taroko Gorge by car, 10 minutes from Hualien train station and Hualien Airport, and 5 minutes walk from the Hualien Port and Hualien cultural center.
Each air-conditioned room at Chateau Hotel come equipped with minibars and tea/coffee makers. Safety deposit boxes are provided. Its en suite bathrooms offer a hairdryer and toiletries.
Spa tub and sauna facilities are available at the health club. A fitness centre is also provided. Guests can visit the business centre for their communication needs or the tour desk to arrange for sightseeing visits.

große Zimmer, modern ausgestattet und einen kleinen swimmingpool der aber ausreichend ist da sich in Taiwan nur wenige Leute in die Sonne legen.
Beim Frühstück war ein ziemliches Chaos und das Personal schien bei fast ausgebuchtem Hotel überfordert. Das Angebot hielt sich auch in Grenzen.
Es ist aber in Hualien eines der besten Hotels und von daher zu empfehlen, kann aber mit Taipei oder Kaohsiung Hotels nicht mithalten

Silks Place Taroko is located in one of the most beautyful spots in the Taroko Gorges. two scenic bridges a modern temple with a pagoda are at a stone throuw from the hotel (ok, the pagoda is made in concrete, but it is still quite picturesque). The western-style restaurant and the buffet offer excellent quality and amazing quantity of food for a reasonable price. Bicycle can be rented from the Hotel shop for NT450 for the entire day. Finally, for NT350 the hotel provides a pick-up service at Hualien station and airport. This is really helpful because there is no public transport from Hualien to Tianxing (where the hotel is located) later that 13.50. Overall, if want to visit Taroko and have a bit of money to spend, this is the Hotel you want to stay in!

The hotel in very good location in Downtown of Hualien City, surrounding with shopping area, very convenient for all room guests. Hotel provides Sauna, Gym, outdoor Spa facility. 01/10DH It's 11 stories modern building in white color. Stands in the city centre, located near the financial, business and cultural districts. The airport is 10 minutes drive away.

The hotel is not easy to find, if you cannot read Chinese. The room was very nice, with a cute round window. Try the rich dinner buffet! At breakfast (only until 9 am), it was very crowded (OK, it was around Chinese New Year) with unfriendly waitresses. But, altogether, we felt quite comfortable in this hotel.

ダウンタウンに近く、食事にも観光にも便利です。サービスは可もなく不可もなくといったところです。古いホテルと聞いていましたが、室内の設備はまあまあでした。費用対効果は良いと思います。西洋料理のレストランでバイキングの夕食を利用しました（TWD500／1人、サ別）。生ビールも飲み放題で、料理の種類は豊富でしたが、クオリティ・サービス共に可もなく不可もなくといったところです。あまり多くを期待せずに利用すれば、全般的に快適に過ごせると思います。ホテルのフロントで各種バスツアーを申し込めます。私はタロコ渓谷のツアーを申し込みましたが（TWD700)、参加者は私一人だけで非常に快適でした！

This is a warm hotel. Recommended for both business and leisure travellers. 02/10 DH It's a brown brick building with elegant windowsill. Hotel is 10 minute to train station, 25 mins to Hualien domestic airport. Right next to night market and city cycleway.

Charming City is recommended for not only FIT business or leisure travellers but also for family trip. 11/09 DH It is a medium high rise concrete building with brown colour and modern design. Hotel located in the central of HuaLien City, only 500 meters to HuaLien Railway station, 15-20 minutes walking distance can reach the most bustle shopping area of HuaLien City. 30 - 40 minutes drive access to famous Taroko National Park.

The breakfast was lousy. By 9am, some of the trays were empty and not refilled. Purely taiwanese breakfast food. Even for a non taiwanese chinese like me finds the breakfast very disappointing in terms of taste and variety.

Description
It's an excellent place to spend holiday. Gondola,swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi and hot spring is provided. 11/09 DH It's a white European style resort and it's interlarded by lagoon. Hotel is located in Xofen Township, Hualien County, next to the National Dong Hwa University and two national scenic areas: the East Coast and East Riff Valley national scenic areas. It occupies an area of 250 hectares, about the same as Yonghe City, and is about one hour's ride from the Taroko and Jade Mountain national parks. In this land, which is richly endowed by nature, only about 15 hectares have been developed.

Promised Land Resort

The landscape of the otherwise great resort has shown some signs of ad hoc topsyturvy after typhoon. Some exterior walls are tainted by molds. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay in the resort. Resort buildings are grandeur and elegant. The room inside is 5 star quality with all amenities. It definitely is worth the price we paid. After we arrived at the resort, we visited the restaurant across the resort, the foods are very good, and price is very reasonable. After the dinner, we took a 15 minutes - 20 minutes long boat ride in the canal around the resort. The boat tour guide was very funny and entertaining; the night scenery is serene and very pretty. The next stop is a out door theater watching a show performed by performers from Indonesia's Ba-Li island. The music and dancing performance are very entertaining. The dancer guided the audience to dance with her. We had a good time. Afterward, we went back to our room. What happened next was very embarrassing and frightening at beginning. After entered the room, we could not figure out why light switches were not working, after experimenting for few minutes, we figured it out by put room card in the slot and lights came up. I then took the card out and went down stair to check something out. My wife went into bathroom. After I came back, I heard someone was screaming inside bathroom; the room was in total darkness. I again, put the card in, the light came up and let my wife out of the bathroom. After one minute, the light turned off again. Eventually, we figured it out the room key has to stay in the slot all the time to activate all switches. There is no instructions at the entrance though. It was really embarrassing; we just never stayed in hotels with such features in US. I told my siblings about the experience, they all looked at me as if I was an alien. Big laughs at the end. Free breakfast is exceptional.
