with Hotel Cornavin. Location could not be better for transport connections and there are a variety of affordable restaurants nearby. Geneva can be a very pricey city, but I found good Thai, Vietnamese, and North African cafes with reasonable prices as well as the food in some nearby bars. Staff was friendly and noise was not an issue.

We used this hotel for a small business gathering. I would characterize it as a better than modest hotel, with good service, superb location, god breakfasts n a beautiful breakfast room. Prices are modest by Geneva standards unless there is a large UN function in town. IIt only serves breakfast, but it is surrounded by a variety of places to eat.

Inside very different to the outside

very handy location literally across the road from the main train station. Although from the outside the hotel looks very dated, the interior has been renovated and the room I stayed in, despite having the narrowest door I have ever seen, was a good standard and acceptable size. The only negative point for me that there were no facilities like gym or pool. Breakfast was in a nice airy room with a good choice.

Great hotel and not too expensive given the prices in Geneva! I really wasn't sure what to expect bc I though the reviews were a little mixed. Just stopped through for the night while on business and it was perfect. Close the lake and right next to the train station. Can walk everywhere. The room was also bigger than I expected, although I'm from the US, so everything seems tiny to me here. Free internet - always a plus. Really friendly people at the front desk and they all spoke English - another plus. The bathrooms were also nicely done, big for Europe and clean - that's always a sign of a good hotel. Enjoy!

Clean, modern, and high tech, this hotel meets the basic needs of a traveller. The room and bathroom are tiny but creatively designed, reminiscent of a cruise ship layout. If the price is right this a reliable hotel.

The hotel was very welcoming, friendly and comfortable. We made good use of the Geneva public transport passes supplied by Edelweiss and were able to see a great deal of Geneva during our two night stay. The immediate area has shops, restaurants and other useful facilities. The lake is only one street away, a pleasant walk. Breakfast was rather expensive, but I would certainly stay again and would recommend it as a reasonable place to stay in what is an expensive but beautiful city.

I enjoyed staying here for my first time visiting Geneva. It's easy to find from the train station and there are many shops and restaurants nearby. The decor is modern and very clean and feels new. The rooms are small but well designed. Free wifi and free continental breakfast. I enjoyed staying here and would definitely recommend to other travelers.

Having stayed in other hotels for business near the center of Geneva (between the railroad station and the lake) I was quite satisfied with the Windsor. I stayed 3 nights and would gladly stay again. The single room was small (typical for Geneva) but very clean, neat and quiet, and less than half the price of other hotels in the area. Free Wi-Fi, free breakfast and air-conditioning are not standard in other hotels, as they are at the Windsor. The front of the hotel fronts a not-so-great block, but the hotel's got a back entrance which is on the next block - and this is a better street and even closer to the City Center.

Just two easy-rolling blocks from the train station, on a quiet pedestrian street. Short walk to the lakefront, cafes etc. Hotel is stylish, well-appointed with modern conveniences like an elevator, A/C, kettle, HD TV and free wireless. Good full breakfast and a pot of coffee. Good value for Geneva.

We spent a long weekend here. The room was well appointed, had pretty much everything that you could want, was quiet (overlooking a park) and was in a good location for getting around the city. We booked 3 or 4 weeks in advance and saved about 50% on the Bristol's standard rate. Highly recommended if you're looking for a more traditional 4* hotel.
Geneva - great city, but really expensive (and we live in Brussels!).

Hotel is located a couple of blocks up from the train station, making it convenient for the travelers coming and going to other destinations. The room was contemporary, updated, clean and quiet. We had three people staying in the room, and found it to be roomy enough to move around. I wish that breakfast was included, and not an additional 30 Swiss francs per person! To find a breakfast place, we had to walk several blocks. In the evening, the neighborhood feels a little less than comfortable, but there are people around so it's not unsafe.

The hotel is perfectly good for business. People at the lobby are very kinf and always very open for helping us. The room is nice, clean, good dimension. The breakfast also very good.

The hotel is two blocks from Lake Geneva and a five minute walk to the city centre. Compared to most rooms in Europe, the room was well equipped and included a coffee maker and AC. The staff was professional and spoke English.

We just stayed for one night, but it was a good choice of the hotel. Very close to the city centre. Staff is very friendly and willing to help. The hotel was very easy to find even without GPS :) The breakfast buffet has a variety of choice.

I brought my wife to Geneva for a weekend as a birthday present. I wanted to make sure that she has a good time. I chose Hotel Le Richemond based on a tip from a friend who has lived here for the past 10 years. It was a good bet.
The hotel room, while somewhat small, is very clean and comfortable. The staff are very professional, friendly, and proactive. Somehow, they manage to always greet you by your name.
If you want a very relaxing time in a nice, high-end environment in Geneva, Hotel le Richemond is a good bet.

The hotel was clean spacious. Breakfast was super expensive and not that good, but everything is expensive in Geneva. The only bad thing was that the wifi wasn't the most reliable.

This hotel is conveniently located near the train station. The quadruple room that we stayed on the 4th floor was clean and conveniently - one bed is located on the side giving our teenager son some privacy. On a fair day the room has a view of the snow capped Alps. The staff is very friendly, helpful, and accommodating - we stored our ski gear in the hotel storage for 5 days while having a side trip in another city.

Location couldn't be better - it's close to any attractions in the city. Every morning we did have in our room the best coffee I've ever try and now I am missing it! People at the desk were very friendly!
Will stay again if I go back to Geneva!

The hotel is a six-floor building, which was built in the second half of the 19th century as a hotel with 51 rooms in its current configuration. The last major renovation of the hotel was completed in the year 2002. The 51 rooms in the hotel is currently configured as follows: The Hotel Savoy, entirely refurbished in the second half of 2002 now offers 50 upgraded guest rooms that have undergone a stylish and elegant transformation. The Hotel is centrally located just across from the main railway station. Lake Geneva, the old town as well as the many sites and attractions on offer are but a few minutes stroll from the lobby. The main Geneva public transport Hub, 20 feet from the hotel's main entrance, offers excellent service to all areas of the city, the airport, the U.N. and its related agencies are about 10 minutes away

Meets basic needs

The location was optimum as it is two blocks from the rail station and 5 blocks from the rental car company (Hertz). It is only 4-5 blocks from the lake and there are many restaurants nearby. The room (their largest) was nice and had a comfortable reading chair near the window.
There is no air conditioner and it was in the high 80s so we opened the windows which lets in all the evening noise from the street below. The beds were okay and rooms clean.
The woman at the front desk was rude and unhelpful. We also argued at check-out over the bill. I insisted that I had paid online and they said I had not. I could have proved it had I been able to use the internet, but they wanted to charge me 9 Euros for that privilege (note while wifi is available it is expensive).
Decent breakfast.

Comme consultant, je connais maintenant bientôt tous les hôtels autour de la Gare Cornavin. L'hôtel Moderne porte mal son nom car il est plutôt ancien et défraîchi. En résumé, son principal (seul?) atout est qu'il est à deux pas de la Gare.
Que dire de plus... je ne vois rien. Olivier

I was in Geneva on business during a very busy period and got priced out of the nicer hotel I stayed in for the rest of the week. Montbrilliant is literally next to the train station and on a busy road so it is noisy and busy (my room overlooked the street). Hallways are a bit dark. The rooms were small and a bit musty smelling. It has been a while since I slept in a twin bed in a hotel room- though it was comfortable! The upside is that the B-fast is really very good. The hotel is fine for a night or two provided you are a heavy sleeper.

I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. First or all, the traveler must keep in mind that this is Geneva. There is no value for money in this town. 200 or so CHF is cheap. When I arrived I was very pleased with how new and clean my little single room was. Nice new bathroom, terrific buffet breakfast and fabulous location for those working in Geneva. Aesthetically, the room was nothing special and certainly not like the nice rooms pictured on the website. But, and this is a big one, the bed was horrific - like one from a VERY cheap hotel The next day the management was wonderful and immediately switched me to an executive single with a bigger and much better bed. The room was much nicer as well (though still not the four stars claimed). So, be warned don't stay in the little singles because I was told that all of the beds are similarly lousy. I still have one caveat, the hotel is right next door to the train station, which is great for commuting but can be noisy. All of the bigger rooms are on the outside of the hotel. My second room was pretty quiet. I was away from the train station and on a higher floor, but I would be very concerned about the noise from the station side. Maybe another reviewer has commented on that....

[...] Very small rooms with single bed. 1 1/2 steps from door to end of room. Very clean, very friendly staff, breakfast was included and was very nice. Free internet in room was appreciated however the desk that was provided did not have an outlet near it so the laptop had to be used on the single bed. Very noisy but it is smack downtown and only 2 blocks to the train that runs directly to the airport.

I book this hotel as the last day in geneva city.It shows good rate and good location so i said try as this web site given good price.
I surprised of the location ,price and room TV. I will tell you why TV ( i found more than 30 Chanel by my language).Wow they want all my comfort.
I really enjoyed the stay and more than that i really slept well in the last day.
