The Hotel De Londres-Schweizerhof is a fine examplar of Valiser Swiss hostelry. Clean, comfortable, and wonderfully located on the prettiest old square in the traditional Swiss mountain town of Brig. The owners are cheerful and helpful. For many, Brig is a town where people overnight while enroute to somewhere else (Milano, Zermatt, etc)-- but the town is charming in its own right, surrounded by beautiful mountains, located at the confluence of two Alpine rivers and a nice base for all sorts of day trips. The Hotel is peaceful and very nicely managed. Four or five nights at the Hotel de Londres and four or five days of small excursions in the Upper Valais make for a relaxing, enjoyable vacation, The Hotel de Londres- Schweizerhof is also quite inexpensive by Swiss standards. Breakfast is simple, but refreshing and everything is very fresh.
