Great stay at a very convenient location

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Hotel is located just a short walk from the comfortable train that takes you to Stockholm city centre in around 15 mins. Its easy to buy tickets and the train goes frequently all day long. We preferred to get good accommodation outside the centre, pay less and just have a small train ride in the morning - very convenient.
Hotel is good standard, service of the staff excellent and Buffet Breakfast good as always in Scandinavia.
Close to the hotel is also Scandinavia’s largest outlet for clothes, so you can easily spend a day shopping for good value.

Hôtel globalement satisfaisant ; le petit déjeuner n'était pas inclus mais personne ne nous a informé d'une offre spéciale dans ce cas de figure, nous l'avons découvert trop tard sur un affichage à la réception et n'avons pas pu en profiter;
Manifestement l'aspirateur n'est pas passé tous les jours sur le sol de la chambre, une poignée de la salle de bain décollée et du bruit dans la bouche d'air conditionné signalé mais non réparés !
Dommage qu'une employée soit venue frapper à la porte à 8 du matin le jour du départ pour s'assurer que nous partions bien ce jour là !
Autrement l'accueil est agréable et le personnel sympathique et souriant
L'emplacement est idéal pour visiter la ville à pied

Only downside is the music from the bar below. On the other hand there is a great bar below the Hotel. Go down for a drink in your pj's. We were on the third floor, you could feel/hear the bass but not enough to keep you from sleeping.
Stayed in the standard room, plenty of space, huge by European standards, waterfall shower, it was awesome.
Service was great, we scored free wraps from the hostess one night. The key code to get into your room is also cool and convenient. The old elevator next to the modern talking one is a novel alternative.
Would stay again and recommend to friends

Our room was very small, but I think there were larger choices, just not available when we reserved. The 'check-in area" was the hallway on the way to the elevator, and there was a computer for people to check themselves in if they had made a reservation directly thru the hotel. Room "keys" were a number code for the door lock of your room. We required an actual person to check in because we booked thru an outside agency, but that was easily done. The hotel seemed dark and they don't use a lot of light in either their foyer, bar or restaurant,nor halls but they were all very warm and inviting nonetheless. Breakfast, (included) was good and the bar had live music on some nights. We did not have any dinners there, but it was always busy so I assume it was good. I would definitely stay there again, but if I were staying for a long time, or had a lot of luggage, I would try and reserve a larger room.

Perfect for short stay

Hotel location is really close whether one arrive with Flygbussarna bus or Arlanda Express train. If you're busy sightseeing/shopping 2-3 days in Stockholm this hotel is perfect. Maybe during longer stay one may find some shortages. To my mind even single room was spacious enough and bed is good for taller people.

Decent hotel for the price

I spent 7 days in Stockholm, 4 days for conference and 3 days for sightseeing. I had a pleasant experience with the Best Western Time hotel. The pros: clean, quiet, friendly, breakfast, good connection to Stockholm Univ., ICA supermarket next to the hotel. The cons: no double bed room for the entire hotel (that's what they said, even though I booked a double-bed [...]). One could say it's far from interesting places, but it takes 30 min walk to the Central Station and the old town (10 min walk to the closest subway, and 3 stops to T-central), so it wasn't that bad.

We took a three day getaway to Stockholm. The hotel was great. Cannot beat the breakfast. The private sauna was great after a full day of touring the city. The hotel is a little out of the way, but well worth it. It took a short walk to the bus stop to get to the center of downtown. We would recommend to stay at this hotel.

I arrived from a Baltic Cruise before 9am; warmly received and full information given. The room was ready at 2pm. Opened in December 2010, the hotel's decor is cool and very modern, but also very comfortable. Staff most helpful and rapidly took care of any desire. The breakfast buffet was good, average priced for the class of hotel, but somewhat frenetic, given the relatively small size of the room for the number of guests. I would return.

eigentlich möchte ich diesem hotel ja wirklich gerne alle fünf sterne zugestehen, wäre da nicht dieser megalaute nachtclub ein paar häuser weiter, dessen pochende bässe einem die nacht – auch bei geschlossener doppelverglasung – zum tag machen. und der club schliesst erst um 05:00 in der früh. bis dann warten selbstredend auch dutzende taxis auf die vielen betrunkenen, hörgeschädigten clubbesucher, die ihre unterhaltungen nur noch rufend und gröhlend herausschreien können.
wer nicht mit einem über jeden zweifel erhabenen tiefschlaf gesegnet ist, sollte sich also besser schon von anfang an um ein seelenruhiges hinterhofzimmer bemühen.
ansonsten boten die beiden individuellen und sehr gepflegten, sauberen zimmer, die ich während fünf tagen belegte (siehe oben), eine wirklich schöne einrichtung auf ihren parkettböden. auch die bäder waren eine augenweide.
die lage des stureplan hotels war für meine zwecke (nähe shopping und ausflüge) ideal. der hafen mit den ausflugsschiffen zum beispiel für schärenbootsfahrten (sehr empfehlenswert: 3-stündige brunch-fahrt der "stockholm" nach vaxholm!) ist zu fuss in zehn minuten erreichbar, das vasa-museum in einer halben stunde – ebenso der freiluftpark "skansen".
alles in allem: jederzeit sehr gerne wieder!

Very modern, nicely furnished. Nice bathroom.
However, each floor has a small living room area that at night was being used by people in the bar as a lounge area, so it was quite noisy with a group of 10 people sitting out there enjoying drinks, just steps from our room.

We stayed here for 5 nights in july 2010 and were we all very happy with the service, the food, the friendliness of the staff and the attention given to art and design. We had stayed at the Grand Hotel (which is located next door) 2 years ago and was very unimpressed. The Lydmar feels like you are staying with friends who just happen to have amazing taste.
I highly recommend it. Other hotels should take some lessons from the Lydmar. Free movies, free delicious breakfast and lattes, free, unlimited internet access and located in the middle of Stockholm. It's the best. We will return!

Das Zimmer war ausreichende groß, das Bad ebenfalls. Englisches Frühstück als Buffet, dass keine Wünsche offen läßt. Lage optimal. Zu Fuß in die Altstadt 10 Minuten. U-Bahn Station und Bus direkt neben dem Hotel. Personal freundlich und bemüht. Perfekte Unterkunft für Städtereisende.

I spent a couple of nights in Scandinavia after a two-week business trip. Stockholm was my first stop and I enjoyed both the city and the hotel immensely. The included breakfast was excellent--the variety and quality was top notch. The only downer was the hotel's signage... Even though the hotel is right across the train station, between the rain (it was pouring the night I checked in) and lack of sign (maybe it was due to the in-progress repainting?), I had a minor chore trying to locate the property. But it worked itself out pretty quickly. Stockholm's Gamla Stan (old town) is very picturesque and deserves more time than I had this time. I'll be back.

Hotel is very central but on the small road. This is good because no traffic noise. Hotel has been recently refurbished. Nice lobby and decent breakfast. Clean rooms and helpful staff but no clothes cabinet in the room.

Our business-level room had amazing views of the water and the old town. The room was spacious, though the furniture felt oddly bland and IKEA-like. The hotel location is very convenient - right above the central train station and a short walk from Stockholm's old town. (Unlike many other cities, the area around Stockholm's central train station does not feel grimy.) The concierge was extremely helpful in getting us dinner reservations (the dinner turned out to be the highlight of the trip).

The building belongs to the Salvation Army and was their educational center from 1914, until the building was totally refurbished and began operating as a hotel in 2005. The hotel is in the stermalm area, close to the city center and minutes walk from the popular area called Stureplan & Djurgarden.

Wir kamen erst um 1Uhr nachts an wurden freundlich empfangen und konnten gleich in unser Zimmer. Dieses war extrem klein ( derjenige, der auf dem Fensterbett schlief, mußte über das erste Bett steigen). Es war aber sehr ruhig in dem Hotel und somit konnten wir gut schlafen. Wir waren auch nur für eine Nacht dort, weshalb das kleine Zimmer nicht weiter störend war. Das Bad war sauber aber auch schon in die Jahre gekommen.
Alles in allem würde ich dieses Hotel beim nächsten Aufenthalt in Stockholm, für diesen, für Skandinavien günstigen Preis, wieder buchen.

There was no safe in the room, but you can rent a safe by the reception (for free). A little bit strange was the thing, that on weekend or holiday day, you don´t get all things to eat for breakfast, like on "normal" days. (this includes a glas of Nutella). But it was very great for me, that there was salmon for breakfast.

Nicely modernized old hotel with great breakfast buffet. Lots of well behaved kids. Room locks required you to insert key on leaving to lock. No-one told us this so we probably left our room unlocked for the first day.

We spent 2 nights in this hotel which was close to the shopping mall and a 10-minute walk to Gamla Stan. Room was so-so. TV was very small - like the one you have in a dorm room. There were no toiletry amenities such as bar of soap, lotion or conditioner -- only liquid soap from a dispenser. Lamp had busted bulb but was replaced when we called maintenance. Receptionists were friendly. The breakfast buffet was excellent. But don't ever eat here for dinner. We were seated by a hostess around 7:30 PM but there was only one waiter serving perhaps 10 tables. We had placed our orders for the entrees around past eight. By 9:15 we left since we were told that our orders have not been cooked yet! We paid only for our drinks. I expected them to at least offer some discount.

This is not 5 star or 4 star hotel but if you are looking for nice small clean hotel in the center of Stockholm at reasonable price, this should be a great option. The gym and sauna which you book individually was very nice. I would definitely use this hotel again.

L'hôtel est agréable même si les chambres sont assez petites. Il est idéalement situé pour visiter la ville, mais un peu trop bruyant, donc impossible de dormir la fenêtre ouverte. Dommage qu'en juillet et août le restaurant de l'hôtel soit fermé le soir et que le bar ne soit pas en service. Sinon la ville est magnifique et nous sommes très content de notre séjour.

I was in Room 106 and there was a noticeable odour in the bathroom. With the door shut, it did not enter the room but was strong enough to be unpleasant when in the bathroom. As a result, I am not sure I would return to this hotel next time I am in Stockholm.

We received support and service from the hotel above and beyond what was expected. Excellent staff at the front desk.
Our room was functional, very clean, and everything worked. Hotel is energy efficient and has the very latest in electronic security.

I stayed 2 nights on business. Very modern design hotel - out of character for this particular chain. Very trendy public space, with great bar and restaurant. However service left a lot to be desired at the bar- it was busy but the level of attention was very slow. Great choice for breakfast and gym facilities good standard.

The staff was very helpful at this hotel. The rooms were very clean. We stayed there twice. The 2nd time we got a noisy room (maybe near the bowling alley) and asked to change and had no problem doing so. The hotel is convenient to a grocery store and in a nice area. It's not downtown but that's not necessarily a bad thing and it was very convenient to take the bus to downtown Stockholm. I would stay there again. The breakfasts are good too.

Das Hotel liegt sehr zentral und von dort ist zu Fuss fast alles zu erreichen. Das Hotel ist gut ausgestattet, das Personal freundlich und die Zimmer gepflegt ausgestattet. Gewöhnungsbedürftig ist der fehlende Schrank! Das Frühstücksbuffet ist sehr lecker und schön angerichtet

This is a very nice hotel located right in the center of Stockholm, very convenient to shopping and tourist sites. Comfortabley and nicely furnished, the rooms have a bit of personality which is always welcome. My only complaint is that I asked if it would be possible to check out an hour later than required, at 1 pm instead of 12 noon and they said i'd have to pay 100 kronor (about $15 US) to do so -- which I thought was pretty cheap for such an expensive hotel.

Good, cheap hotel

Initially, I thought the hotel was a little bit too far from the city center, but it's actually just 3 or 4 subway stops away, which takes maybe 5-10 minutes? It's not in a central location, but you can walk from Gamla Stan back to the hotel in about 30 minutes if you feel up to walking.
Location-wise, there's really nothing much going on in the area except for a few restaurants/bars near the subway station, which is about 2 blocks from the hotel.
The hotel itself is ok, a bit basic, but it's great for the price considering that breakfast is included. No gym, but there's a sauna that you can book for free. The room that I was given was on the first floor, and I swear it felt like I had to walk 5 minutes from the reception to get to my room, it was that far away. And it was tiny, but that's to be expected. The TV is still one of those tube ones (not flat screen), and you only get 8 channels, 3 of which are in English.
What I didn't like was that since I was on the first floor, I had to keep the curtains closed because anyone walking outside could see inside the room, and a lot of people walk by.
Bottom line, it's a good hotel if you're on a budget, but if you could afford to spend a little bit more, I'd recommend a hotel in Norrmalm.

Quality accommodation without the starched, cliquey atmosphere that some more established establishments suffer from and in an ideal setting… highly recommended. Excellent food on-site, very easy access on foot, by bus and ferry to the sights you need to see - with notable others on the island itself. A quiet, relaxed and friendly place to stay… no hesitation in recommending.

We loved staying at the Hotel Skeppsholmen. It was very comfortable, with a very friendly staff, in a very quiet part of the city. It's right next to the modern art museum, right next to buses and ferries, and is a short and pretty walk to the wonderful national art museum and the old part of town.
