Good hotel if on a tight budget, definately value for money in Sweden. Easy ten minute walk from the station, can't get lost. Very handy for central Gothenburg.
Staff very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was really good and plenty of it. Only downside, walls are bit thin, got woken by the guy in the next room making a phone call at 06:30.
Definately go back again.

Very comfortable and professionally run hotel. Convenient for participants to events in the Göteborg Congress and Exhibition Centre. Busses to airport leave outside hotel. A bit expensive, but in the range of major city downtown hotels.

I was not really expecting much when the room description said 'twin bed' upon booking, but my room was lovely. It was tastefully decorated and a good size designed for a single person. The breakfast was an enormous buffet and I was surprised to see so many families with young children. I had noticed that there were families staying on either side of me, but the room was so well insulated that I didn't hear them at all. I was really impressed with this hotel in every way. Also I went to see U2 in concert and found out after I had checked out that the band stayed there as well!

Rica Hotel No 25 is totally renovated in summer 2011 and you could really see it in the nice rooms and facilities. Location is great with 5 mins walking to central station and around 10 minutes to the large Shopping Avenue. Breakfast Buffet included in the price and very good and large selection.

Single room was small but comfortable, with a good size (double) bed. Ultramodern design with superb bathroom fittings. Everything you need. Great breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Ask for room on the "backside" to avoid any traffic noise - very quiet.

I went to Gothenburg for a 6 day family visit. The weather was beautiful and the location of this hotel was 10 minutes from the center and a pleasant walk. One clear advantage is low noise and nice views of the harbor and ships spanning 200 years as well as large ferries. The room ( Queen sized bed ) had just the right amount of amenities, though there is much to see and do that the huge flat screen was rarely used. The maid service was very sensitive to service your room, only after you had left for the day. though this area of Gothenburg is easy to navigate, the staff was willing to give recommendations as well. The breakfast buffet was among the best I've had in Sweden with a few types of eggs, few types of sausages, various cold meats, cheeses, cereals, fruits, fresh yogurts and various coffees, teas and juices as well as breads. I particularly liked the fruit cocktail as in addition to some tropical touches as mangos etc,they had seasoned it with fresh spearmint that added to the freshness. The price for the Riverton was about 20% less than comparables and that left more for canal trips and other activities. I'd recommend this hotel.

Riverton Hotel Gothenburg is placed in a very good location near the center of the town. We stayed for 5 days. The breakfast was very good and the staff in the kitchen. However the good impressions stop there. The staff at the reception was unhelpful, unflexible and not very polite. We arrived with a friend and the room we booked had a double bed. We asked for a room with two beds and the charged us extra 36 euros per day for this. In conclusion the hotel has a low value for money concerning the price and the services it offers.

This trip was business related. Hotel staff worked with me to ensure that my stay was comfortable. Room had 2 twin beds placed side by side. No air conditioning was provided but the climate was cool enough to not be uncomfortable. The breakfast buffet had hot and cold food items, as well as an assortment of fruit, breads, and beverages. The 8th floor contained a jacuzzi and weight room even though I did not have time to use either, they were never empty, which is a good thing. I thought it was interesting that your room key served as the mechanism to activate the lights in your room. Halls were very quiet and 5 elevators were available in the hotel for quick access to floors. Security measures in place that required use of your room key to access either your floor or the 8th floor jacuzzi area only. Parking accommodations in the basement garage.

Nice staff and fast service. Rooms were nice but not great. A little dirty plus not updated. The room window would not open more then 1 cm. Hot rooms with no cool air when i used the temp adjust. Best location. Shopping just down the street. Buss and train station right across the street. Busy when there are events going on in town. Across from the football stadium and could be a little loud.

This hotel is very well located. Walking distance to everything. A number of great restaurants down the street. Breakfast was wonderful. The staff is extremely nice. There is the train stop outside which was kinda noisy, but your int he heart of the city, and I dont mind local sounds. I also have 2 windows wide open for the nice breeze. Free Wifi in the room was on and off. but better than nothing. Great Hotel.

Traveling with my 21 year-old son. We stayed in Gothenburg for one night in late October... arriving on train and leaving by plane. The hotel is perfectly located near the train station with an underground walkway between station and hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful in arranging cab for 4 am departure. Rooms are basic, no thrills, no mini bars, no coffee/tea, but clean.

I attended a conference at the University and the hotel is very centrally located. The 10 or 15 minute walk to the conference venues was past the city canals and along a boulevard with many shops and places to eat outside. Quite nice.
The hotel is right next to a huge shopping mall, lots of restaurants and next to Central station so the airport is a 40 min bus trip away and the trams run a block from the hotel. A perfect location.
Tha Paddan (boat trip through the Gottenburg canals) is also a short walk away.

The Odin is not in the most beautiful building in Gothenburg, but the rooms are well designed and the amenities are great given the very reasonable price (kitchen or at least a fridge and microwave in the room, free wifi, coffee in the lobby, and free dinner buffet). And the front desk staff are friendly and helpful.

Very nice hotel, clean, polite and friendly staff, rooms ok, But it is about 2 kilometers from the centre. Not possible to walk, therefore taxi is 130 - 140 krona, if you come back after 11.30pm this may double. Spent a lot on taxis, next will only stay in the centre.

Description
The Clarion Hotel Post, new building containing 500 hotel rooms with a rooftop sun terrace and pool overlooking Gothenburg. It is to be constructed next to the old post office, on site of the old loading yard that faces Akareplatsen and Odinsgatan. Half of the facade will be covered with slate and the other half with copper, the same materials used in the original post office building. It is a modern hotel, firmly rooted in history which is sure to become the most exciting meeting area in the city and well worth much more than a quick visit or an overnight stay.

Small room. Original room we were given was already occupied - VERY embarassing as we went in to that room and saw someone else's luggage. Then we got another room which was ok, with a nice view of the city.
Parking was very badly explained and badly sign posted.

Looks like a boat.

The hotel was cute, on the water and looked like a large boat. Made for fun photos and all. Besides that, the view from the window was great, and there was no swaying in the water. The room was a bit on the small side, the bathroom had neat little boat-like ammenities. It was slightly too warm, and stuffy, but that was mostly fixed by leaving the window open all night. We visited in late April, and had a reasonably nice stay.
