Moncloa Hotels in Madrid

I'm not going to repeat what other reviewers have siad. We had variable experience with the staff, although most of them were really really lovely, and helpful. The equipment for the kitchenette is not automatically in the room; you have to ask for it (I recommend you do it at check-in). They provided two each of dinner plate, large soup bowl, dinner knife, fork, dessert spoon, coffee mugs, large saucepan with lid, frying plan. There were glasses already in the room. The fridge was full of minibar stuff, so we spent the week with the minibar contents on our kitchenette benchtop. School across the way wasn't noisy at all; sure you could hear the kids but it wasn't particularly loud. In the same street, further up the hill is a wine bottle shop also sells a few cheeses, All of the convenience stores in the area are very very grotty and sell marginally useful stuff (although they do have chocolate and water, which is pretty useful). We ended up using grocery stores closer to SOL and el Palacio Real (both with in an extended walking distance). The large park that is one block west of the hotel (which contains the Temple of Bod or something) was great for a stroll in fresh air to walk off jetlag: plenty of sun and tonnes of seats under shady trees not too far from the hotel. No climbing stuff for kids, tho. In all, I'd use this place again for sure.

on arrival we were greeted with a very friendly welcoming girl on reception. Very helpful staff and the bed was extremely comfortable. The breakfast which was extra was well worth the money :)

I can recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Madrid. I was expecting a low scale hotel, but instead we were suprised positively. The staff is friendly, helpful and speak good English. The room was great. Very spacious with comfy beds. I was happy to find out that our room had a bathtube as well. The location was great. The hotel is next to a big shopping mall and other less expensive local stores as well as international brands like Zara, Mango etc. The tube was very close and it was very easy to move all over in Madrid. We will definitely come back to this hotel again.

Love this hotel on a quiet street and 2 blocks from a large Corte Ingles (department store with supermarket on ground floor, cafeteria and travel agency on upper floors) and the metro stop Arguelles is in front of the store. You can easily walk to Plaza de Espana from here, the Royal Palace, the Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol if you do not want to take the metro. You are also close to restaurants. Our bathroom was modern and large and quiet. I have stayed here before and came back! The room was ample size with average furnishings which could be updated but the price is very reasonable. I will stay here every time when I come to Madrid! You can take the metro here from the airport just like any other hotel. A taxi runs 35 to 40 euros.

Dieses von freundlichem Personal geführte Hotel hat eine ausgezeichnete Verkehrsanbindlung zur Metro. Die nächste Metro-Station ist gerade einmal 300 m vom Hotel entfernt. Eine Zehnerkarte kostet nur 12,00 € und macht von den hohen Taxikosten unabhängig. - Im Übrigen ist das Hotel in ruhiger Lage trotz Nähe zum Plaza Alfonso Martinez. - Ich werde dieses Hotel immer wieder gerne besuchen.

Gran Versalles is exactly what one would expect from a 4* hotel. The room was bright, nicely decorated and of good size. The staff were helful and there is a computer with free internet in the lobby. There are many comfy leather sofas in an attractive and large lounge area. The hotel is near an underground station and you can get to the airport cheaply and easily. The main attrations are within walking distance. Can't comment about breakfast as I eat in the local cafes instead. The restaurant is very good for dinner and opens at 8pm (everyone eats very late in Spain). Overall, I have enjoyed my stay and would recommend.

Nice, spacious, very dress and business class. Not real close to main attraction for tourists. However only about 5-8 Euro for a cab ride and the taxi's were always out front waiting.

This is a great little hotel. The location is perfect. You are not right in the heart of the tourist district but you can get there in 5 or 10 minutes on the subway. When you go out to the restaurants (and there are many to choose from) you are eating with locals and the prices reflect that. The rooms are small but very functional and very clean. The staff is curteous and professional. I did not get the breakfast option so I have no comment there but I did eat lunch once and dinner once at the hotel restaurant and the food was reasonably priced and actually quite good. Any service or need you have can be found with in a 5 or 10 minute walk from the hotel. I paid about $85.00 U.S. a night through and, when you consider you are staying in a European capital city, I would consider that a very good price. So if you are looking for a nice clean economically priced hotel in Madrid you should definitely consider the Best Western Trafalgar.

Great location. It is only a 5 min walk to the metro station. My room was clean, but it is an old building and some furniture in the room was very old too. Standard rooms are not very spacious. Great mini-bar and entertainment system. No wi-fi in the rooms, only cable connection. Wi-fi is free in the lobby for 10 minutes.

The rooms were clean and had all of the usual amenities. The breakfast buffet had a large selection of food items (more than enough for a vegetarian) and was available at very convenient hours. The housekeeping staff was noisy,lots of bustling about and using 2-way radios to communicate with each other. The location was convenient to a large busy street (easy to catch a cab) but was itself not bothered by the noise of the busy street. All in all a pleasant and convenient place to stay while our daughter got started with her studies in Spain. Will seriously consider staying here again when we return for a more lengthy and lesurely visit.

This hotel is well located, their staff is very nice, the rooms are very clean, there are lots of restaurants around the area where you can eat good food at a reasonable price. You can walk to the Royal Palace, it is only about 5-10 minutes walking, the Madrid Cathedral is also beside the Royal Palace. The Plaza de España is right there around corner. I recommend not to eat breakfast at the hotel, you are better off going to a VIPs restaurant around the corner where you can eat breakfast for less than 5 euros while in the hotel they would charge you 15 euros each. I absolutely recommend this hotel and definitely will stay again if I ever visit Madrid again.

Todas las habitaciones del hotel son suites, por lo que disponen de un salón bastante grande además de un dormitorio amplio. Realmente espacioso y limpio. El desayuno es espléndido con una gran variedad y calidad. El precio es inmejorable. Por decir algo negativo es la ubicación, relativamente cerca de Nuevos Ministerios pero alejado de cualquier atracción turística y en un barrio bastante soso, pero esto está superado porque justo delante del hotel hay una parada de metro de la linea 1, así que existe una gran capacidad de movilidad. Repetiría... muy recomendable.

3 jours dans cet hotel bien situé, ce sont avérés excellents. Buffet petit déjeuner copieux et appetissant, accueil très agréable et chambre confortable et propre. j'avais testé cette chaine sur Barcelone avec la même conclusion. A recommander.

Overall the hotel was very good. We wanted a hotel close to our relatives (walking distance) and the NH Alberto was perfectly situated. It was clean and perfect for what we were lookng for.

Pedi dos habitaciones triples y nos dieron dos dobles con cama extra, que no tenian espacio para caminar ni para abrir el ropero. Al otro dia gracias a mis continuas quejas nos dieron dos habitaciones cuadruples. La gente de recepcion no es muy simpatica y te tratan mal. Lo mejor del hotel es la ubicacion y el precio.

This simple hotel is off the Calle Princesa, one of the principal streets in Madrid, which means the hotel's location is ideal for tourists who want to avoid the cost of the downtown hotels , yet maintain proximity to the main attractions the city has to offer. The hotel is about 3-4 doors down from the corner and is near the main bus lines and metro stops. Diagonal to the Hotel is the famous department store chain El Corte Inglés, where you can find whatever favorite items you miss from back home or those things you forgot to pack at ridiculously exorbitant prices. I found the staff helpful, although if you require the American-style of overly friendly service, you may feel slighted. However, I found the staff absolutely kind and welcoming. My flight arrived from Chicago at 7:30 AM. I was exhausted when I arrived at the hotel at 9:30 am. I knew not to expect to find my room ready to be occupied so early, but the staff at the desk assured me he'd have a room prepared for me by 11am and invited me to sit in the dining room where they were still serving their continental breakfast buffet. Just before 11am, I was given a key and went to my room. My room had one full-sized bed, a desk, a flat screen TV that sat on one extreme of the desk, a desk chair, and a stool upon which I put my luggage. The decor is quite sparse, but the room is clean and organized. I especially appreciated the fact that the bathroom was immaculate and that the shower sprayed with an appropriate amount of force. The floor was a light-colored hard wood, making it very easy to notice if the floors were dusty or not clean. They always passed the white cotton sock test! The hotel offers several amenities including an optional continental breakfast (buy the package deal) and access to their wireless network. Criticisms: Perhaps the most annoying and disappointing characteristic of this hotel is the fact that though businesses in Spain are forbidding smoking in most public establishments and the Tirol offers non-smoking rooms. However, I did notice there was an ash tray in my room and the smell of the cigarette being smoked by the occupant of a neighboring room easily wafted into my room very likely via the air ventilation system. I don't know what I found more offensive: the air pollution or the sound pollution. The walls are paper thin. If you're a light sleeper, I would suggest you request a room that does not face the street and away from rooms with multiple guests. Another negative about the hotel is that its beds are not the best quality. I felt as if I was sleeping on two box springs. The didn't give at all! I was too jet lagged to care, but it wasn't a good night's sleep. Perhaps my stay could have been more pleasant if there had been a dining room that was open during lunch hours. All in all, Hotel T3 Tirol is a perfect location to reach central Madrid as well as a good bargain for the frugal tourist, as well as the family on a budget.

The location is convenient to the subway. The room is clean, plain. TV was fine; no clock, but staff was accurate with wake-up calls. Staff did help me navigate things like you have to put your room card in the slot that keeps the power on in the room. The taxi they called for me to go to the airport overcharged me by about 60%. I mention this here because the driver and the desk clerk were in extended conversation when I came down to check out. I somehow had some phone charges, which the desk clerk would not show me in writing. These two things together just raised the idea that in future I might just struggle with luggage on the subway rather than be at the mercy of some game.

This is an adequate hotel for business travel, but not suited for the romantic break. The location is a drab part of Madrid, with a front view overlooking the storage sheds for metro trains. The rear is of another building and its external air conditioners. The hotel is clean, relatively modern and functional but lacks character, and the well lit photos of the internal gardens create a misleading impression. The reality is artificial foliage. The bedroom was clean, but the plastic bath and plastic shower screen are not up to 4-star standard, and the use of a quilt sandwiched between two upper sheets was not to our taste. No kettle. In summary, clean, modern-ish, functional, but no romance.
