The Tryp Gran Via is a great choice in Madrid. It is located steps from the Gran Via Metro stop, close to tons of shops, restaurants and major attractions in central Madrid. It is also easily accessible from the airport via the Madrid Metro.
The staff here was incredibly friendly and helpful, providing me great information on activities taking place while I was there. The room is very nice, it has the basic needs (bed, safe, flat screen TV-mostly Spanish channels, comfortable size bathroom). My only complaint is that you can easily hear what's going on outside, the walls are paper thin.

This is a great hotel, fantastic buffet breakfast everyday at low prices. Clean rooms and a wonderful very large all marble bathroom. The central location of the hotel right on the Gran Via in the center of town makes it a great value, I highly recommend it and would stay there again without hesitation.

The Westin Palace Madrid is a beautiful and elegant hotel with a great location and friendly and accommodating staff. However, I did not experience the restaurant or lounge/bar due to the exorbitant prices.

The service was wonderful - everyone was extremely helpful and delightfully friendly. I do wish though that there were fewer knocks on the door (one person with water, one with towels, one with soap, one to check the minibar...). The prices for food and beverage was very very high ($25 for a cocktail, $40 for breakfast, $20 for a grilled cheese sandwich). Location couldn't have been better - and the beds were heavenly.

正面はザラなので買い物には困りません
デパ地下にスーパーと惣菜やがあるので食べ物も調達できます
マドリッドのほとんどの観光地に徒歩で行ける場所
設備は古いけど、メンテはされていてお湯もたっぷり出ます
よく言えば自宅に居る様な感じ

Although hard to find (entrance is off-street in an alley), this hotel is perfectly located in the center of Madrid. We walked everywhere to include restaurants, train stations, shops, shows and activities. The hotel offers an excellent buffet breakfast for 14 Euros (7 Euros if you're a Mas program member). The multilingual staff are very friendly, helpful and went out of their way to assist us. Only negative comment would be the never-ending traffic nosie and the endless police and ambulance sirens. Room was spotless and large.. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel staff was very helpful and efficient. The hotel is perfectly located, close to lots of the things you'd want to see in Madrid (museums, the palace, etc.), and right on the Metro too, for when you need to get further.
Internet at the hotel is 2 euros for 1 hour or 8 euros for 24 hours, but there are two starbucks on the same block for when you'd like to do it for free.
The rooms are fine. Pretty small, but this is pretty normal for Europe. The bathrooms were newly styled and clean, and the beds were big enough, if not the softest. We slept just fine. I would recommend asking for a room on the inside of the hotel, as the outer rooms on Gran Via are exposed to a lot of city noise, even very late at night.

The rooms were clean and had all of the usual amenities. The breakfast buffet had a large selection of food items (more than enough for a vegetarian) and was available at very convenient hours. The housekeeping staff was noisy,lots of bustling about and using 2-way radios to communicate with each other.
The location was convenient to a large busy street
(easy to catch a cab) but was itself not bothered by the noise of the busy street. All in all a pleasant and convenient place to stay while our daughter got started with her studies in Spain. Will seriously consider staying here again when we return for a more lengthy and lesurely visit.

The Praga area is great! It is five blocks to Metro (jump on bus or a quick walk) b/c you are in more of residential area. You are only a few stops from Sol and Opera area which have more tourist, shops, food and entertainment. For the price and room comfort (bathroom with tub) Praga Holel is an excellent deal! You can also stop at grocery across street.

Hotel Praga is very nice hotel with clean and comfortable rooms and beds. Hotel staff was helpful. However breakfast was a little bit boring.
Hotel has a great location just outside the main centre of Madrid, but easy enough to walk and there was a bus stop right outside the hotel that went into town center.
We would stay here again.

Our first time in Spain this was a very good hotel nice big room and helpful reception staff also in a good location a short walk to a main square and street with lots of shops and places to eat.
We would stay there again.

Loistopaikalla oleva kaikin puolin toimiva hotelli. Ainoa tosi pitkä miinus tulee viesteihin vastaamattomuudesta. Unohdimme yhden korun huoneeseen ja lähetimme meilejä ja faxeja suoraan hotelliin sekä ketjun keskusvaraamoon. Kukaan ei koskaan vastannut yhteenkään viestiin! Uskomatonta nykyaikana.

This hotel is well located, their staff is very nice, the rooms are very clean, there are lots of restaurants around the area where you can eat good food at a reasonable price. You can walk to the Royal Palace, it is only about 5-10 minutes walking, the Madrid Cathedral is also beside the Royal Palace. The Plaza de España is right there around corner. I recommend not to eat breakfast at the hotel, you are better off going to a VIPs restaurant around the corner where you can eat breakfast for less than 5 euros while in the hotel they would charge you 15 euros each. I absolutely recommend this hotel and definitely will stay again if I ever visit Madrid again.

I was only at the hotel for an overnight stay prior to my flight back home. The only negative that I experienced was the mattress. It was hard. The hotel is close to the Madrid airport and the free shuttle to the airport was great. Shuttle drivers/coordinators did an excellent job of organizing us for our ride to the airport.

What a surprise; elegant artwork throughout,space galore, and a breakfast buffet that tops them all.
The posted room rates were 300 euros high season and 230 for low season for a double......Why did I get such a low rate from Cheaptickets? They need to fill those rooms! The parking fee was not included 21 euros a day. The bathroom ceiling was coming apart and mole growing on the edges of the bath tub.....But, worth the experience and shuttle works well to get back to the airport and the metro!

The description is that this hotel is .7 of a mile from airport, but it takes 20 minutes; promotion was a bit misleading---we picked it because it seemed so extremely close and convenient.
We arrived about 10 p.m., but had an early morning flight, so very little time spent in this attractive and large hotel. It appeared to have wonderful facilities, but we had no opportunity to enjoy.
The driver of shuttle a bit grumpy, and the staff average. Hotel rooms great, sparkling, and comfortable.
Asked staff for a 4 a.m. wake-up, but got it at 5 a.m.. So missed the shuttle; fortunately got the next, but with no time for shower, etc.

First trip to Spain, and this hotel was just right! The staff was very friendly and accomodating, and the location was perfect for sightseeing, close to Plaza Mayor and all of the major sights. We walked almost everywhere, and took the metro to get to museums and parks, there is a stop right in front of the hotel. Room was comfortable and clean.

I took a cab to the hotel and it didn't look too impressive from the outside, but once I walked inside everything changed. The decor was nice and elegant, the drinks at the bar were reasonable priced. The location was a 5 minute walk from the center of the city and the service was excellent.

I will stay here again! It is right in the heart of the Plaza Mayor, so you step out every day into the middle of the Madrid scene. This is not for everybody, especially if you want a peaceful stay, or a business trip. Plus, it is in a pedestrian zone, so taxis cant pull up to the hotel, you have to walk your luggage about 50 yards. But we had 3 teenage boys with us, and they were dazzled with the location. They could walk to all the hottest tapas bars by themsleves. Touristy? Sure! But that was what we were looking for.

Great location,staff very helpful, free laptop/wifi in each room. Rooms just a bit small but didn't matter because we were out most of the time. GREAT massage showers as well. Location was the key! Very clean as well.

This is really a well kept and run hotel. It provides all the comforts one could wish for. the staff is very friendly and helpful.
There were only two aspects that prevented me from giving a full score for amenities. They are the following:
- The washbasin does not drain quickly. It takes time, thus needing extra rinsing which results in more time to await the water to drain.
- The computer for use by guests was often excruciatingly slow. During my stay only one of the tow computers worked. I was told that the other will be fixed.
As for location, it was almost perfect. The hotel is well served by the metro and buses. There is a bus stop just outside the hotel door. And it is easily within walking distance to Chamartín railway station. The only thing that could possibly have been better would be to be located in the centre of town. And were that the case the price of such high quality accommodation would have been considerably higher.
All in all, a very nice and comfortable hotel which is well located . Its staff is very competent and helpful. Considering value for money it is definitely the best hotel accommodation I have found for long.
Finally, I would like to thank the staff for a pleasant stay in the hotel.

I stayed four days at Confortel Pio XII. The staff is very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and spacious. This is a good value if you want some peace and quiet and don't mind the metro ride into town

My wife and I could not ask for a better hotel and location to travel through out Madrid Spain. The sites were incredible and the people at the Hotel Gran Melia Fenix were helpful and friendly. We plan on using this hotel Chain in the future for future vacations and are planning on using this Hotel as our choice for a starting point.
