The food at this hotel was excellent at all times.
The daily entertainments and activities were enjoyable. There was a close train station that made our stay more convenient.

The balcony had not been cleaned for several weeks which effectively put it out of use. The bed linen was full of holes and the room itself required refurbishing. Thye public areas were generally clean and reception where helpful and organised. La Colina is the nearest train station ten minutes walk away.

Palm Beach .....A short 15 minute drive from Mlaga airport and just 1 minutes walk from the safe, sandy beach of the Carihuela is Palm Beach Club.Whilst both the staff and the atmosphere are charming, the surrounding area is also unique, as La Carihuela, despite keeping up with the times, has managed to retain its special village personality. It is ideal for older people or those with mobility difficulties, as it is flat, close to the sea & with many pedestrianized streets. Palm beach is in the heart of the Carihuela, come for a day or stay for the winter! you will be made very welcome.
The complex has an adult and children's swimming pools, Television lounge, bar-cafeteria with Sunny terrace, supermarket and 24 hr reception, where there is always somebody available to provide information or services to clients- including reservations in the many restaurants & golf courses nearby.

Todo está orientado al trote con cierto confort, no al "lujo".

they made hear a sale on timeshare about 4 hrs long , they only change towels once a week because we didn't buy timeshare. [...] also be aware you need to be able to walk long areas and go up and down stairs. anybody with reduced mobilty DON'T STAY HERE !!!!

Relaxed Atmosphere

The resort is really nice & quite relaxed, but to stay here you really need to have a car, for which there is ample parking. Reception staff need to up their game a bit but the maintenance, house-keeping & catering staff all do a fabulous job. Our 2 bed apartment had all the mod cons. The resort is really hard to find for 1st time visitors; it took us hours as we had the address down as Mijas, not Mijas-Costa, which is 5 miles up the road. Also, my Sat-Nav found 3 Calle Topacio addresses in this region, so my advice is print off a map & if the sat-nav lets you down, aim for a nearby road. Ideal spot for those with young families as it's very quiet at night. Go for the half-board option when checking in as it's good value & the food is very good also.

This is a nice resort, beautifully maintained & rooms are very well-appointed with all mod-cons. You definitely need a car to stay here, for which there's ample parking. It's very difficult to find for 1st time visitors & our Sat-Nav didn't help as there are 2 other streets with the same name in the vicinity. It's in Mijas-Costa, not Mijas or Mijas Pueblo, despite whatever address you're given. Head towards Marbella from Malaga on the main dual-carriageway & get off when you see the Miraflores golf resort on your right. We didn't find the reception staff all that helpful, but the house-keeping & catering staff were fabulous. We didn't spot this until checking out, but we could've upgraded to half board for the week for about £250 I think....to include breakfasts & dinner, which is a bargain. Other reviews didn't rate the food,...I thought it was excellent. Evening entertainment not the best,...more a place for those with young families as it was very quiet at night. An ideal base from which to explore the region by car, alternating days out with days by the pool.

The hotel has 211 rooms distributed among small two-storey white houses is decorated with wrought iron railings in the balconies. This gives the hotel the atmosphere of an authentic Andalusian village with streets and squares and leafy trees. Each room in the hotel is different and they all have a full bathroom. In this "little village", you will find attractive entertainment proposals for all ages: two swimming pools, one for adults and one for children, two tennis courts, one squash court, volleyball, water polo, TV lounge and clubhouse. In the outdoor complex is a fresh water swimming pools, a sun terrace with sun loungers and parasols laid out ready for use and a pool bar. Guests may try many different sports including windsurfing, archery, basketball, billiard, tennis, table tennis and beach volleyball. The location of this Hotel is excellent, shame about the limited parking facilities around the front, and no provision of optional underground secure parkings as with other Hotels. Food wise it's ok with a half decent variety, but compared to other 4 stars Hotels, slightly inferior.
Service was excellent and staff very pleasant.
Air-conditioning/heating is worth a mention.
It is global and on a timer. We had to request a heater in the room as apparently it only kicks in after 19.00hrs.
We were freezing cold in February inside the room.
Not whats expected from a 4 star Hotel.
Each room should have own control of A/C and heating.
Also very noisy room experience.
Walls seem paper thin.
Rooms and corridors dont seem to have been sound proofed.
We could hear everything that went on in the rooms above below and next door. Might prove stimulating for the bored or kinky individuals but not suitable when you are trying to get to sleep :)

Shame about the Food

I have stayed in 5 hotels in this area over the last 2 years. I would place the Flamingo at either 2nd or 3rd after the Cervantes, but then it was only half the price.
Its situated in the town only 5-10 minutes from the station which saves on taxi fares and the trip from Malaga airport only costs Euro 1.35. Its got a nice bar come entertainment area which opens out onto a good sized pool and garden area. The rooms are of a good size and clean but are in need of an update. I only had a single room but it had twin beds and a small balcony. The cleaning staff where very helpful and cheerful. Internet access was available at reception the staff there where very willing to help in some cases their English was a bit limited but a bit of patience worked wonders.
My only complaint was the food, there was no real restaurant management. During the time I was there the chef during service was spend most of his time talking to a young waitress/receptionist and so the dishes on the buffet would not be replenished. He was quiet annoyed when I asked him for the dish I wanted to be replenished. I never went hungry but there was no great enjoyment in the food.
To me this hotel is in a good location but is definitely a 'room only' hotel

At check in the Receptionist had gone for lunch.So I had to wait 20-30 minutes for him.Then, they did not have my reservation.It was quite hot (Apr 24th) and No AC in rooms.AC was installed in rooms but not operational, by "Manager's decision". I asked for a fan and that was not available.My biggest complaint was non-availability of any kind of Internet in rooms. Every one needs to check emails these days. The entire hotel needs renovation. The bathroom shower cord would not hold in it's hook. Kept falling during my shower. Took me 30+ minutes to take my shower. Toilet is from the 70s. Definitely not 3 star. There are 3 small elevators which are mostly busy and operate very slow.[...]

Super location.
Rooms are large, clean and well equipped.
This hotel only has wi-fi access by subscription that is cheaper than on the street.
Does not have a lot of English speaking TV channels.
The restaurant services mainly meal plans bought by tourists. Mine included breakfast only which was fantastic but consistently slightly overcooked for my taste.
Clients are mainly from Germany and the Netherlands.

Actualmente en reformas.
Las habitalciones muy amplias tipo suite con pequeño salón. PISCINA: no fiarse de las fotos.
SITUACION: estupenda. Punto medio entre Playa Bahondillo y Puerto Marina (15').
Algún problemilla a la salida. No les constaba al hotel el pago efectuado a través de H. Club.

I got married in nerja in September and we fell in love with this place. It is beautiful! We booked the whole place out for the venue. The tasting was amazing, rooms lovely, overall very romantic.
The wedding was very different. My wife to be got ready at the bridal suite the day of the wedding. She had campers, food as you'd expect with the bridesmaids. More of that later.
It transpired the catering is actually subcontracted. The tasting menu we had was given to another contractor. So instead of terrine of salmon we had mouse, instead of green beans wrapped in bacon we had white in a garlicky oil, instead of pepper sauce on the boar we had a type of gravy. The deserts were also changed before the wedding. All in all the meal resembled a 'menu del dia' in a bar. Speaking of which The bar did not go on all night as informed.
On returning to our bridal suite we were looking forward to the sunken bath and champers and strawberries. Turns out the room was cleaned from earlier. No champers and no strawberries.
The hotel insisted it wasn't there problem- they still say it was the hairdresser who told them not to clean the room... Does that make any sense on our wedding night. The catering not their problem again as they are just the hotel. The same for the drinks and fruit- that was the caters. Instead of apologising for the errror and offering some redress they called the cleaner down who argued its me in Spanish saying its not their fault. All admitted they would be furious if it was their wedding.
I spoke to the manager who again said essentially not my problem for it all. ABSOLUTELY shocking! I wasted so much time and energy on our honey moon with this. Luckily we forced ourselves to get over it but it nearly ruined our day. They never bothered contacting us again and we paid for everything in full. Such a shame- what is a lovely place ruined by staff and poor management. If you read the comment book and it isn't full of bad comments they have replaced it!

This hotel is located about ten minutes walk from the town of Nerja, where you can find plenty of shopping and entertainment venues. The Villa Flamenca is located in a residential area of small, typical Andalusian-style houses, only 300 meters from the main beach in Nerja. With a prime location on the Costa del Sol, yet not your typical apartment building area of beach and Nerja has managed to retain its charm by offering villas, narrow streets and, of course, the "Balcony of Europe", stretches along the bay on a rocky outcrop where you can admire the magnificent views. An excellent hotel with friendly and helpful staff although service was a little slow in the restaurant and bar at times.
The winter offer of an upgrade for 40 euros per person per night was excellent value as the food was very good.
Would definitely stay there again.

Our allocated room was excellent with a fabulous private balcony overlooking the beach. We will definately be revisiting this Hotel next year for a longer stay. We enjoyed the Cervantes and would definately stay again. The renovated lobby area is very nice, pool area is great and with a children's pool. It was a bit of a walk down to the beach but was a nice walk. The only downside was that the pools are not heated and we were there late April and the water was FREEZING. Our poor 4 year old .... GREAT pricing for our stay and included breakfast and dinner buffet. Food got tiring quickly but was so convenient. I think the Cervantes would be much more fun if it had been a month later and warmer weather.

The hotel is very nice. The breakfast was excellent. The location and aminetties are great. The room is very clean and the service is better than expected. The check in and out and the service of the front desc is professional. The only thing is the sandwich place next to the pool was not good, slow and the food was not that good.

Hotel de style contemporain ou tout est parfait ! Qqs services un peu chers du style petit déjeuner mais excellents. A recommander sans hésiter. Réserver des chambres en haut de la tour ... La vue est imprenable !
