Helpful and polite front desk and housekeeping staff. Had a very good breakfast buffet, nice small gym and rooftop sundeck. Location is excellent; a couple of blocks from the beach with great restaurants and tapas bars as well as many of the Alicante sights and attractions all close by. Rooms were pleasant, clean, reasonably well-appointed and quiet for the most part. I'd stay there again and/or recommend it to a friend.

this is our second stay to the Hotel within 4 months and once again we weren't disappointed. The location is perfect for us and the Hotel is comfortable with spacious rooms which are extremely clean. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Only a couple of niggles, the bar isn't open at weekends, the equipment in the gym is basic . We were moved into a suite as there were problems with water in the rooms near ours, this was very nice, but unfortunately too cold, the aircon wasn't powerful enough to heat the suite to an acceptable temperature for the time of year. But would we go back, definitely!

Although the area is a bit hilly it is easy accessed by busses and the tram. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it is possible to get food and drink at any time from 7am until midnight. thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

AH Alicante is a really lovely hotel and truly deserves its 4 stars. The only thing is the location which is a 20 minute walk to the centre of Alicante but there is a bus stop around the corner and reception will happily ring you a taxi. Had a really nice enjoyable stay in the hotel, the rooms and bathrooms are lovely and the staff are very helpful. Would definately stay here again.

Wir haben ein Dreibettzimmer gebucht,bekamen aber ein Doppelzimmer,wo man uns am Abend noch ein Notbett reinstellen wollte.Wir fragten uns nur,WOHIN?Das Zimmer war viel zu klein für drei Personen! Nach langem hin und her bekamen wir ein grösseres Zimmer,aber auch nur mit einer viel zu kleinen und total unbequmen Notcouch(kein Bett!)Für ein Vierstern Hotel sehr schlecht!Wir haben ein halbes Jahr vorher gebucht! Schade,sonst war Alles in Ordnung.

Exceptional Hotel in Heart of City

Tucked away from everything this extraordinary hotel is deserving of its five star rating! Beginning with the refreshing fruit drink or tea handed out upon arrival to the fully stock bathroom amenities the Hospes Alicante is the first property we have stayed at that deserves all five stars! We booked the hotel for 82 euros a night on Orbitz with the third night free special with breakfast included. The breakfast was a buffet feast with the usual eggs and bacon, cold cuts, plus fresh fruits, gourmet yogurts and cheese, pastries, and fresh squeezed peach, orange and kiwi or melon juice. A Spanish breakfast at its best.
The reception crew was always attentive and extremely helpful in planning daytime (Castillo de Santa Barbara)and nigh time itineraries. Behind the hotel El Buen Comer served homey meals at reasonable prices including the daily menus. Within walking distance Nou Manolin was an excellent seafood restaurant for a special meal. The tapas bar downstairs is popular, and the restaurant upstairs is excellent for the paella or salt encrusted fish.
Also within walking distance in the grid of medieval streets in El Barrio are the Cathedral, Basilica de Santa Maria and countless stores, plazas, restaurants and bars. Straight out of the front door was the Explanada de Espana is a tiled seaside promenade that leads to the pier, the beach, and more touristy areas of Alicante. Sidewalk cafes for a drink and tapas are numerous along this promenade and also along the beach promenade. A must visit is the market which is a short bus ride or also a 15 minute walk, it is an incredible experience and an education on local seafood! In all a fabulous space which I hope to return to soon.

Fantastic Vacation with Friends

I stayed here with 2 of my friends for 5 days on the tail end of our trip. We're a group in our mid-20s so the basic amenities we just fine for us. The best thing about this hotel is the location. We took the train to Alicante and the cab from the main train station to the hotel was only about 10-15 euro. The hotel itself is right off the beach and about a minute away from all the nightlife. For the price, I don't think you can get any better than this.

This hotel is in a very central location on the beach and near the city center. Big rooms.
Description
Located near the shops and businesses and close to the railway station, this hotel has a car park, lounges, restaurant and cafeteria. Its 41 rooms also have a TV, minibar, telephone and data port.
Notice: From 27th December the cafeteria will be closed all the Sundays.

Excellent 4 star hotel in San Juan beach area - about a 10 minute walk to the beach and restaurant area. Trams and buses to Alicante (€1.25 one-way, approx 20 minutes) run regularly from about 100m from the hotel. The outdoor pool area was superbly presented and very clean. WiFi in the room was a bit spasmodic, but not a neccesity for our holiday. Staff were very helpful, with good English. Would stay here again.

The Hotel was in a fantastic location right on the bus route and easy to find. The room was clean, quiet and comfortable. A walk to the beach was took only 5 minutes. The only thing we didn't like was the two twin beds that seemed to roll apart during the night or when I wanted to rest against the headboard to read. Over all I would not hesitate to stay here again

The room at he hotel was always clean and service was excellent. We also enjoyed the Food selection.
