Radisson Ambassador Plaza Hotel & Casino San Juan

A really nice surprise. Got a great deal on price and was concerned prior to the stay, but was greeted with helpful and quick staff. Luggage service excellent. Room large, clean and housekeeping always acted quick to requests (free water bottles). Location a bit off from Old San Juan but everything a quick taxi ride away or just a good location to walk to local restuarants and one block from beach. Pool on deck large, gym fair. Definitely recommend.

The location was good. We stayed one night to get on a cruise ship the next day. The staff was friendly and helpful, but the hotel was old and could probably use a facelift. It was clean enough, but the whole complex looked worn and kind of old fashioned. The restaurant was dark and dingy and the fitness center had not very much equipment. We selected the hotel partly on price and partly on location, and we got what we paid for.

My two previous stays at the Ambassador were fine. This one was extremely noisy during the wee hours of the nights. Lots of noisy trucks, car alarms going off twice, all coming from the parking lot and my room was on the 5th Floor.

Hotel was ok. Slow service at restaurtant. Air conditioner in room was in a bad location. Air hit you directly on the bed making for it hard to sleep

Wonderful experience, The Casino was a nice added feature.

The rooms at this hotel are average; about what you would expect. The walls, however, are paper thin. You can clearly hear conversations in the rooms next door, in the hallway, and the traffic outside. The hotel has a nice casino downstairs, if you like to gamble. There is also a small fitness center, a rooftop pool, and the beach is two blocks away. This is in the middle of the "tourist zone" of San Juan. Old San Juan is within walking distance (~3 mi.).

The staff at the Radisson do their best to make your stay pleasant and I don't have a bad word about any of them. We stayed in an Ambassador Club room which gives you access to continental breakfast, afternoon hors d'ouveres and a nice bar. Beds were great as well. The main problem is that the power was continually going out at the hotel and in the section of Condado as well so you can't blame it all on the Radisson. Generators would kick in and restore it to the elevators and of course the casino, but the rooms -- not so much. Also, seems to be a lot of water damage at the place. Switched rooms a few times because carpeting was wet/moldy. Last day of our stay the ceiling began leaking into the shower so another room change! The place did accomodate us by knocking one night off of our stay as well as comping us a free dinner in their sports bar. Overall, if you're not expecting the Ritz Carlton it's a perfectly good hotel. Just don't be surprised if you lose power now and then. Staff and service is fantastic. Rooms are good size. Let's hope for an upgrade to flatscreens in the near future though!

a bad day gone worse! on arrival i did not get the rooms i booked. instead of two rooms with two beds each, we got two rooms with one bed each. kind of hard to fit 5 people in two beds. BACK to the front desk and we get to rooms too far apart and oh! the card keys didn't work. BACK to the front desk and finally the keys worked. all with no apology. and by the way, they charge their guests for parking. on day five of our stay the air-conditioner in one room broke down. their fix was to put 3 people in one room with only one bed. i guess they thought it would be cosy. mid afternoon of the next day the replacement air-conditioner arrived and was soon followed by a call from the front desk asking me to have my daughter vacate the room after not being able to get a good nights sleep due to the discomfort of being crowed three to a bed. again with no apology. [...] of course, if there is strength in numbers perhaps posting this review with the New York City Police Benevolent Society (PBA) would help my fellow NYPD police officers in avoiding a bad situation. vacation time should be relaxing, not aggravating!

radisson staff was very friendly and helpful. although our hotel room was great, we planned from the get-go to spend most time exploring the area and treat it more like a home base. great location within striking distance to many attractions and no need to rent a car.
