Good Entertainment

Amenities are very good and food is above average. Reservations to the restaurants is little hassle. Activities are few and need more activities for kids.

family vacation

This is a beautiful property set on a hill-side overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The grounds and the rooms are well maintained. The resort is located away from other properties and away from the main tourist area of Cabo. The food was just OK. They use golf carts to shuttle people around the resort because it's a little steep, and walking around can be difficult for some.

New Year's Getaway

The location and amenities were very nice. We had wanted to get into Pacifica for adults only but this was not available. It was nice to have an adults only pool to accommodate people without children there.

never again.

I want to try and write this review and be as fair but also objective as possible. I also do not want to sound like a spoiled and petulant child. First, the positive. The service was amazing. From the wait staff, bar staff, housekeeping, drivers and the front desk. They cannot do enough for you. They treat you like royalty. Next, the view from our room was incredible. We watched the most gorgeous sunsets every night. Just outstanding. Unfortunately, that’s it for the positive. On to the negative. Even though the staff was incredible, they are incredibly under-staffed. We had to wait over thirty minutes each morning and night for a table in each restaurant. Then when we were seated, we had to wait over ten minutes for a waiter to greet us and take a drink order. They were running everywhere to clean tables, set tables, deliver food and drinks, drop checks and take orders. It was like watching a bad production of Cirque de Soleil. Without the balancing. The food was mediocre at best. Nothing to write home about. Almost like cafeteria food at my old High School. Steamers with soggy vegetables, meat with a cream sauce and desserts that were not made in house but bought locally that were a little dry. The hotel is built into the side of a mountain so it runs vertically and not horizontally. That means you have to take a golf cart everywhere. In the morning I wanted to get coffee for my wife and I while she showered so I had to take a cart all the way to the bottom of the hill, get the coffee and get back on the cart to go back up the hill to our room. By the time I got there, after waiting for the cart, I had spilled half the coffee on me and the kids next to me, and what was left was now cold. Speaking of kids, if you have unruly, undisciplined and disobedient kids then this is the place for you. Every day in the pool we encountered these children. I thought one little boys name was BobbyStopIt. All I heard for three days was “Bobby stop it!!” Bobby stop it!!” I mean, take the boy out of the pool and take him back to the room. I guess the problem was we don’t have children and it was not relaxing at all. They have four pools and if you didn’t get up and out by eight o’ clock you didn’t get a lounge. We like to sleep late, until nine and we had to settle for the least pretty of the four. I guess that’s the reason for this review. I chose this place based on the reviews I read and it was very misleading. I’ve reviewed other places that we’ve gone to in Cancun and they were far better than this place. Another negative is the fact that you have to sign for everything. I walked off the beach after a thirty minute run and I needed water. I went to the bar and the bartender had to ring it up on the computer, print out a check, I had to sign the check and then I got my water. I sprung for the all- inclusive which does not mean all- inclusive to them. There are certain restaurants you have to pay extra for. All in all, we made our own good time, but we’ll never come here again.

Christmas 2014 - hot and sunny

Generally very good but at times we were reminded that Mexico is still a third world country - electric power to almost the whole hotel was cut for three hours one night (making for an uncomfortable night's sleep with no aircon# and the water pressure in our shower was regularly very low #it actually cut out completely several times but only for a period of a few minutes#. Views from room stunning and weather glorious #our first time in Cabo# - regular sightings of whales most days from our balcony. Food #and drink# choices were very good #we were on the All Inclusive plan# but on a number of occasions there were 30-40 minutes to wait for a table despite restaurants apparently not being completely full #just very slow turning them around between diners#. The staff were generally very friendly but you only ever met the junior staff - senior staff/management were completely invisible - fortunately we did not have any problems that could have needed more senior personnel to resolve. One big disappointment for us was the concierge service - fine for booking excursions but not particularly helpful to take on anything out of the ordinary. As keen tennis players we were disappointed that the hotel courts were out of action #recent hurricane Odile damage - but no advance mention on hotel website#. The concierge was unable #and we got the distinct impression simply unwilling# to research any other hotels that might let us use their courts #we were happy to pay...#. Only later in our stay did we discover by accident that the sister hotel #PB Rose# has a court that was still operational - all their facilities #and restaurants# are open to PB Sunset guests, with a regular free shuttle bus service between the two - our concierge did not mention this when we enquired about alternative courts! Whilst the hotel complex has a vast array of different swimming pools, guests have to accept the hotel's own choice of #very loud) 'Ibiza Beat' music at almost all pools - not conducive if you want peace and quiet and/or trying to read a book. The Sky pool is magnificent with spectacular views but it is anything but tranquil given the music. The saving grace was the adults only pool - thankfully music free! Whilst the hotel is spread out over a steep hill #see other reviewers' comments on the golf carts etc# it is perfectly possible to walk everywhere if you don't mind a bit of exercise #to work off all that food!#, unless you are disabled #in which case you will need to rely on the golf carts#. NB something seems to have gone wrong with the text above which seems to have replaced brackets with hash signs.....

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Excellent choice of excursions (book at concierge desk) from Cabo Adventures (dolphin swims, camel rides, snorkel and whale watching trips - and 3 for 2 offers) but watch out for the horrendously overpriced photos.

Solo Vacation

The hotel was great and the staff was even better. I would have liked better food options, more variety and a better level of food in general. The hotel was very busy so finding a dinner reservation which was required was difficult at times. There were a lot of children staying there as well so I would have liked more adult sections than the one small pool available to adults only.

Great resort, great staff, understaffed though

Amazing resort - reminds you of La Jolla! No need to leave the resort as the food, amenities and views are spectacular. The staff is very good as well. The time share sales pitch is a bit uncomfortable and pushy. The staff is short staffed, which makes you feel sorry for them as they are clearly doing the best they can with what they have to work with.

Absolutely beautiful resort

We loved this resort. Everything is beautiful. My family of 6 stayed comfortably in an suite. The beds were so comfortable. The all inclusive was perfect for us. The food is amazing, especially the sushi. The pools were so clean. The staff took such good care of us. I didn't know we couldn't swim at the beach because of the undercurrent when I booked it but it ended up not being such a big deal. There are golf carts running all over the place but it was really handy for us. The time share people are all over. Kinda annoying but when we said no thank you they left us alone. I truly hope we get to go back and stay here. We loved it.
