The Tivoli Marina Portimao was a bit hard to find, since our GPS unit couln't find a record. It's down on the harborfront and is quite busy. Room was OK. Strengths include a PC set up on the second floor of the lobby and a very nice buffet breakfast.

now when we know how to find it (which due to lack af neonsign to us about an hour and 4 drivebyes on a dark evening), we will definitively consider staying there again. Very helpfull staff and cleaning more often than promised up front (every day but sunday).

Hotel Globo is an excellent choice for those who want to taste the local Portuguese life style in a typical Algarvian town and close to one of the best beaches of the region. this hotel is just down from the main strip. its in a excellent location. 5 minutes to probably one of the best beaches in europe. easy going down but a little harder coming back up. we had a sea view room which was well worth the extra money. all the staff are friendly and very helpful. i highly recommend this hotel.

There is a Naval Club which is owned and run by the Boca do Rio Resort. It offers a unique opportunity for one to enjoy hours of fun on the historic river Arade. The exclusive catamaran 'water taxi' is moored here, to take guests to Portimao and the local beaches. In addition, there are canoes and kayaks yachts and motor cruisers for hire. The adjoining Health Club boasts a heated indoor pool, gymnasium, sauna and steam room. If you like water you will love the Naval Club! Recommended. Good value for money. DDS 07/08 Very beautiful looking complex, spacious, surrounded by plants and palm trees. Located close to the mouth of the river, once an important centre for processing and canning fish. Even today the village retains its character and charm, and it is here, on the river bank, that Boca do Rio Resort offers all the luxury and comfort of today whilst recognising and respecting the traditions of the past.

Tudo muito bom, sobretudo a localização num contexto balnear e a relação qualidade preço. Pena a dimensão dos quartos ser pequena demais para o nível deste hotel, se bem que compreendamos que estamos perante uma construção já antiga, que foi brilhantemente remodelada pelo grupo Pestana, pelo que não permite alterações nas estruturas de betão existentes.

It features 2 Pools, Tennis and Squash courts and it is within 3 km from some of Algarve's best Golf facilities. The Air-Conditioned apartments of Clube Brisamar open out onto private balconies. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return. One small comment is that we found that the prices in the restaurants differred from one to another for the same things. ie. beach restaurant prices were higher but the other restaurant was actually nicer.
