The Tivoli Marina Portimao was a bit hard to find, since our GPS unit couln't find a record. It's down on the harborfront and is quite busy. Room was OK. Strengths include a PC set up on the second floor of the lobby and a very nice buffet breakfast.

Hotel Globo is an excellent choice for those who want to taste the local Portuguese life style in a typical Algarvian town and close to one of the best beaches of the region. The Hotel has been completely renovated, being now a small boutique style hotel located in the historical centre of Portimao, near the River Bank, where are situated plenty of shops, bars and restaurants, and not far from Portimao fair and exposition Centre and the congress centre of the Algarve. Pestana Dom Joao II Villas is an integral part of the Pestana Joao II Beach Resort Hotel and Villas which occupies an excellent position at almost beach level on the long sandy Alvor beach. The Resort is within an easy walking distance of the village of Alvor. Once a small fishing village it today a popular location with good restaurants, bars and night life. Tudo muito bom, sobretudo a localização num contexto balnear e a relação qualidade preço. Pena a dimensão dos quartos ser pequena demais para o nível deste hotel, se bem que compreendamos que estamos perante uma construção já antiga, que foi brilhantemente remodelada pelo grupo Pestana, pelo que não permite alterações nas estruturas de betão existentes.
