Nice business hotel in downtown Managua. Clean comfortable rooms. Helpful English speaking staff. Rooms are decent but could use updating. Not as nice as the Hilton Princess but a good value for the price. Depending on traffic can take 15 to 30 minutes to get to the airport.

The hotel Barcelo Managua exceeded my expectations in just about every area. The only thing that wasn't perfect was that their business center wasn't open when they said it was. But they offered to print our boarding passes for us at the front desk if need be.
The restaurants there in the hotel are excellent and the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly.

The Barcelo Montelimar all inclusive resort had a gigantic swimming pool which was extremely clean, well located with delightful pool boys (and girls). The nearby beach was beautiful with bathwaterwarm ocean. Most of the evening entertainment included great dance productions. We didn't care for the audience participtation activities prior to the show, but most guests seemed to enjoy them. The staff was friendly and helpful. Plenty of daytime activities. We had trouble getting the maids to deliver 3 towels and 3 bottles of water to our 2 double beds room, but received the extra towel and water w/o any problem when requested. Abundance of food and drink. Tipping not required but gratefully accepted. Middle of the week is best as the locals descend on the week-ends.

The hotel, the size of the rooms, and even the beds were smaller than expected. However, they quickly put us in another room with larger beds. There is no restaurant in the hotel. Although close to other hotels and a major mall, the hotel is located on a dead end street. The only exit from there, if walking, required passing thru a short dark area without street lights. Usually took taxis for shopping and eating out. Taxis arrived very promptly. I was impressed with the cleanliness of the room and the service from the staff. We visited the National Museum, El Malecon,and the National Carheral.

The room was very clean and well serviced. Having stayed at the other brand name hotels in the area, this is an outstanding value. Great location off the main street.
Safe quiet neighborhood, staff was excellent.
