Hotel Plaza Colon is located in a historical building at the centre of the beautiful city of Granada, in a property that has been known not only for its representative colonial architecture, but for the history it has gathered since the times it was built. It was the home of many of the renowned families of Granada, the last of these families decided to transform the house into a hotel, for which they acquired the three neighboring properties, taking special care in keeping the style and architecture of the original house. The current facade of the Hotel is the same it had back in the beginning of the 20th century. The Hotel got its name from the "Plaza Cristobal Colon", that was also known in the past as Plaza Colon and nowadays is commonly known as Parque Central. This was how Hotel Plaza Colon was born. It has been operating since April 17th 2006 and it offers 27 comfortable, luxury guest rooms, which grant all the amenities a modern hotel can offer to guests such as AC, ceiling fans, minibar, cable TV, safety deposit, alarm clock, free internet access, phone, hair dryer, hot water and bath robe. You can start your day enjoying breakfast prepared with the freshest locally grown ingredients, accompanied by the best Nicaragua coffee, grown in the northern mountains of the country. El Bar will welcome you with the national cocktail "El Macua"; here you will also have the option of tasting, right in front of the Central Park, classic cocktails, a diverse selection of wines, national beers and delicious tapas. After a busy day of tours and walks around the city, you can refresh yourself in the swimming pool area or take advantage of the free pass you have as our guest to use the best gym in the city.

Best in Granada

Very clean and comfortable. Service is over the top. Great breakfast. Located right on central park. Great for watching evening local activities. The staff was great and always willing to help with a smile. Great value. Only thing we would do different would be to get a room with a balcony next time.

An architectural showpiece, the Hotel boasts all colonial period features including cathedral ceilings throughout, solid wood ornate doors, pillars, chandeliers, embellished wood sun-catchers above the doors and, of course, Spanish courtyards of tailored gardens inside. Hotel promote responsible tourism by donating half of all revenue to Carita Feliz, a local charitable organization that offers personal, professional, health programs to young people and serves more than one hundred thousand meals annually to children and other community members of little means. Hotel also offers free breakfast and afternoon snack to its guests!
