Picton Lodge Backpackers is a purpose built Lodge situated 150m from the Ferry Terminal that enjoys views of the Marlborough Sounds from its Balcony. A Cafe/Bar next door, a two minute walk from the town centre, with lots of Cafe's and a Supermarket. Handy to the Info Centre, Buses, Train, and Town. When you stay at Picton Lodge you can relax on the covered balcony overlooking the magnificent Marlborough Sounds, Fire up the BBQ and have a drink with new found friends. Picton Lodge is a comfortable, convenient place to explore the marvelous Marlborough Sounds and to walk the Queen Charlotte Track, or just relax. At Picton Lodge we cater for all backpacker holiday needs, from arranging your Accommodation to organising your sightseeing. Our friendly staff will help you to make the most of your stay by giving advice on the best places to eat, drink, and activities to make your visit enjoyable. good location, but

the couple who run this backpackers were really accomadating but took over 24 hours to sort out my booking which i had made over the internet nearly a month ago. they had no problems putting me in a room, but also the website information failed to mention that bedding would be an additional cost. otherwise the location is fantastic for those walk on passengers for the ferry.

Description
This is a great hotel for visitors just arriving or departing the South island or for those exploring the Marlborough sounds. Excellent central location. An abundance of activities to suit all, both land and water based, from wine tours to sailing, hiking and fishing. the TranzCoastal train service also starts and end in Picton. SE1008 A modern three storey building. Most rooms on the upper floors have balconies. On the waters edge in Picton the gateway to the south island. A five minute walk to the Inter-islander ferry service to Wellington.

This hotel was a wonderful location and had great views over the harbour from your balcony or the lovely outdoor sitting area. The rooms were spacious and very clean. It was handy having the kitchen facilities.

Great location. Parked the car & walked everywhere. Friendly staff. Good dinner in their restaurant - both in price & size. Comfortable room. Good laundry (dryers that dry).
