Spacious room, great location!

There isn't much to complain about with this hotel. The staff was friendly, room was spacious and comfortable, and the location is really convenient. One of the few minor complaints I have is that the 30-minute vouchers for use of wifi in the lobby is a bit annoying, considering that there are a ton of cafes sporting free wifi all over the city. All in all, it was a very nice stay.

A bit wary cos of the previous comments about the carpets. There was a funny smell but I think that was cos they had tried to clean the carpets. Ours was ok. The smell soon disappeared. Breakfast is 15euros. Book it at reception the day before and you get 2euros 50 off. Staff very helpful. We were there 3 nights and had a towel change daily. We would definately come back here again.

Very good luxury hotel

Excellent room, large by European standards. The room is above the lobby area, I can't speak about rooms in the converted houses.
I especially like having a choice between air conditioning and an open window. The courtyard let in lot's of sun, and kept out most noise.
My main gripes: no in-room coffee/tea, and far overpriced wifi/internet access. I didn't try it, so I can't comment on speed or quality.
The downstairs internet terminal is good, and free. However it is unavailable when the business center is used to store luggage during a rush.
I don't often stay in luxury hotels, my preference being a good B&B or small hotel. However, the service here was just about worth the price.
The staff is very friendly and extremely helpful.

You cant get a better location, nothing was more then a 15 minute walk away and there is a lot to do right there in the Leidseplien square. The hotel staff was friendly and ready to help- but help was not needed. The rooms were kept very clean and the furnishings were newer, the building was well maintained and had a steam room and a gym. public transportation- bus train and canal boat- all stop right outside the hotel. Showers were hot and had pressure. Did not have a great view- window looked over an interior roof area. No microwave in the room, there was a hot pot for tea or instant coffee that worked great. I did not try room service.

My wife and I had a great stay at this hotel. It's location is central to all of the things a tourist would want to see. There are cafes, shops, coffee shops, a mall, The Van Gogh museum and Rijks museum just a short walk away. A ten minute ride on the trolly will get you to Central Station in the city center. This will be where I stay the next time I visit Amsterdam.

Overall I wasn't disappointed at all. My first room I was a little unhappy due to my height and this particular room, though it was very quaint and comfortable it was tough, but after voicing my minor complaint they switched up my room and I actually ended up with an upgrade right away. The AM breakfast is very tasty and has a good variety of foods to appease most palettes, though I would like to add that it is charged to your room, though I don't think the pricing is posted or made clear unless asked, just fair warning, but I felt it was of value. The club was also entertaining, just make sure to talk to the hosts during the day to get on the list.
Buy a tram pass from the host and don't forget to tap on and off the tram ;-)

We arrived early but didn't have to wait long for our Stylish Corner room to be ready. The room was clean and hip! The free Wifi that we used from the hotel was sum what unreliable though. The location is good because it's just seemed to be in a perfect Location. It's very close to the Tram which will take to The Dam Square in 5 minutes or just walk to anywhere else. We rented a hotel bike for 24hrs for 15 euros and we went easily exploring all the differant areas. There is a Grocery store just down the main street also food and 2 Smoke or Coffee shops if your into that!

We arrived having paid for an economy room and it was just that, economy box room. The lift was out of order & my partner recently had a knee op & there were 3 flights of steep stairs which would have made this very difficult. The following day they moved us to ground floor in a standard room which was a great improvement. A view of the canal. Rooms are kept very clean. Shower is amazing. Breakfast was good. Great location. Overall good value for money. Thankyou for upgrading our room! Much appreciated. Staff could be a little friendlier/welcoming but I guestt they are also busy

Ok for Amsterdam

The hotel was just ok. Twin beds so don't expect to cuddle. Small rooms and the bathroom left a lot to be desired, like a separation from the shower to the toilet so that the water did not just run into the rest of the bathroom. But if you are in Amsterdam, the LAST thing you do is spend time in your hotel room so it suited that purposed - just sleeping. a bit loud with the trolley so bring ear plugs.

We arrived in the evening and were welcomed by a sweet young lady who when she saw our reservation for six nights instantly decided to give us an upgrade with 'A VIEW". Room #532 was great.
Looking out over Munt square and being serenaded
by the Munt tower!! It can be noisy out there but we never had any trouble sleeping . One (in our opinion)drawback; you can not use the refrigerator. It's stocked in such a way that nothing can be changed
so you can put your own stuff in it. Not a big problem.
Everything else is close by, restaurants etc.
We enjoyed our stay.

Good time.

A mixed bag.
Plus:
Very comfortable bed.
Room large by Amsterdam standards.
Location away from city center, but easy to get to the center by tram or bus, takes maybe 10 minutes to get to all the action.
Great reception staff.
Minus:
Air conditioning not available-room was very hot due to unusually warm weather that week.
Hotel is adjacent to a public park-from 1am-3:30am one evening there was a huge and extremely loud dance party going on there. It kept me awake even though I was seven stories up! Therefore ask for a room facing the street-NEVER the park side.

The Falcon Plaza Center Hotel isn't anything spectacular: an older, smaller, building in an older, smaller, neighborhood of Amsterdam. It is, however, clean, and friendly, and the breakfast (if included, as it sometimes is) is a good deal and quite decent in and of itself. For the price, a great location, and a good deal.

The hotel location was great it was close to most of the shopping and site seeing area. I really enjoyed it. The only thing that needs some improving is the size of the room. We had a double room and we had two twin beds that were smaller then the average twin beds. Other then that everything was GREAT!!!!!!!

Amstel Amsterdam - Beautiful Cozy Property

This is just a classic hotel in the 5 star category. The architecture & Lobby are world class beautiful. The service overall is fantastic & very friendly. The concierge was a little difficult to get into proper action, but everybody else was A ++. Great cozy bar downstairs, great food, and awesome wait staff. The bed was a B-, but otherwise the room was totally gorgeous & well cleaned daily. Could use a little upgrade as far as the mattresses. Anyway, I'll still give this place a strong A and I could live there in a suite no problem !

Beautiful hotel right on the water. Staff was outstanding. Out room was a picture with a two tiered effect. We had dinner at their fine dining restaurant and it was marvelous.

Description
This hotel offers very simple and basic accommodation but its central location cannot be beat. This is ideal for those who do not require any frills and want to be in the middle of the action and who are able bodied and can climb steep stairs as hotel has no elevator. jg/09/09 This is a traditional building in keeping with the other buildings that form the delightful Rembrandtsplein and Thorbeckplein. This property is located right in the heart of Amsterdam, on the Rembrandtsplein, home to numerous cafes, restaurants, coffee shops and nightclubs. It is within walking distance to the flower market, red light district, canal cruises and main shopping district and with numerous trams on its doorstep, you can easily access the train station, museums and any other tourist attractions you would care to visit.

The hotel originates from 1912 and lies directly to the lively Rembrandt square, direct in the heart of the city centre. The hotel is an official Dutch monument, has a rich cultural history, and an obvious style with lots of Art Deco and jugenstill details. Behind the lovely facade, the rooms are modern and well equipped to accommodate all guests. Direct public transport connection with Amsterdam Central Station and the RAI congress centre both can be reached within 10 minutes. The Rembandtplein is the most well known goodtime of Amsterdam, due to the theaters, bars, restaurants and clubs. Museums as the Rembrandt House and the jewish Historical Museum are within walking distance. The famous shopping streets; Kalverstraat and P.C. Hoofstraat are in the direct surroudings of the hotel.
A 5% city tax is to be paid at the hotel.

Great Location for Youngsters

This hotel was one of the interesting buildings on Rembrandt square. it was decorated in art deco style and really interesting. The staff was neither overly friendly or mean but did speak a multitude of languages. The room was spacious, clean and well taken care of. I would suggest this hotel for the younger crowd as it is on Rembrandt Square, a popular area of bars and clubs, which can be very noisy at nighttime. Three stops on the #9 tram from centraal station and you are there!

Good Experience but rooms facing the front of the square are quite noisy. I request to switch in the back of the hotel (fully quiet).
Service and clean are very OK.
