Very Comfortable City Hotel.

I have stayed twice in the last three months - each time for 3 weekend days. On both occasions the stay has been very pleasant. Service is discreet and efficient. The bedrooms are comfortable, very clean and well appointed. Soundproofing must be very efficient as I did not experience any noise from other rooms or from corridors on any of the 6 days even though the hotel was always quite busy. Breakfasts were excellent. My only criticism was with the piped music at breakfast which I always find irritating and unnecessary. But, overall, I rate this hotel very highly. It is close to the main train station (3 minutes walk) and and to the old town centre (5 minutes walk). High standards seem to be consistently maintained. I paid 160 and 170 euros for the two three night visits (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) for a double room and breakfast. During the week I suspect that it functions as a business hotel with higher rates. Highly recommended.

There is an equipped work area in every room and the rooms have telephone, television with in-house movies and you have access to the Wireless Internet. The hotel has facilities for disabled guests. Golden Tulip Amersfoort offers 17 multifunctional meeting rooms of various sizes available for your business meetings. All our conference rooms enjoy daylight and have beautiful nature view. The conference rooms are very suitable for meetings and trainings sessions. Our restaurant BRANCHE with garden and terrace offers the perfect location for events and parties; we enjoy taking care of an unforgettable day!

Quiet mid-tier commercial hotel

Wound up here for three nights as a result of the volcanic ash airline grounding. On the edge of town near the highway so better for someone with a car than for someone dependent on public transportation. Staff responsive and efficient if not overly friendly. Note that the €25 charge for 24 hours of internet access is literally for 24 hours of connect time. My room was prepaid through [...] but the hotel charged me a second time, which took some sorting out after I got home.
