This hotel is very beautiful, clean and in a perfect location to explore historical center of Puebla. People working here are really nice and breakfast (included in price) was good. Overall, excellent value for the money.

We stayed at Casareyna for a weekend trip to the historic center of Puebla. The location is great - only 2 blocks from El Parian market and really close to everything else (Zocalo, Cathedral, Callejon de los Sapos, etc). The staff was VERY helpful, gracious and prompt with all our requests. Our room was really lovely, clean, quiet and spacious. Overall this place is a great value and we would definitely return!

Visited Puebla (third time) and decided to obtain a "cheap" room because it was a stopover for us...only spending the one night. Boy, were we taken by surprise. We paid $28/night plus taxes and it was the best money we've spent in a long time. The rooms were clean, very large, excellent location in the Centro Historico, phenomenal service, and did I mention clean? Listen, I'm sure the $28/night price won't last long but this hotel will still be around even at higher prices because it is simply the best value. Go to eat at Restaurant/Bar Del Parian...you won't be disappointed there either. [...] the owner will treat you like a king and you'll eat like a king on a pauper's budget...and not just quantity but QUALITY and DELICIOUS!

Good hotel in a good location!

We had a good stay in NH hotel, Puebla. Nice, big, clean room. Good location, 2 blocks from zocalo, far enough to be away from the busy spot but close enough to all the actions. The roof top has a nice view with the bar, The gym and a little heated pool. Compact and cute. Staff are very good and friendly. Only one thing that we were disappointed was the food. We ordered from the room service, It was not good at all. Too bad :( But the food was good everywhere in Puebla. Love the food from street vendors, fun and fresh. One warning : Do not eat at Hotel Royal, Zocalo, the food was OK but it was very slow, the service wasn't professional. I'm in food business, I'm not going back there!

Great location for a walking holiday

We stayed at the NH Puebla in November 2009; we picked the hotel because we planned to do a lot of walking in the historic center of town, and the hotel was perfectly suited - 2 blocks from the zocalo and cathedral, 6 blocks from the flea market and the artists barrio, and convenient to several museums. We found several really good restaurants just a short walk from the hotel, and the staff was able to make some good recommendations. The breakfast buffet provided a wide range of food, which we managed to fit into our Weight Watchers regimes. The hotel was very well maintained, housekeeping did a good job of taking care of us. My only gripe was that I couldn't exchange USD at the desk - however I found a currency exchange "around the corner" on 3 Sur between 3 Poniente and 5 Poniente, which was a life saver since the banks weren't able to change money unless I had an account with them. Overall, I loved the property and would recommend this to someone looking for a place right in the middle of the city.

Sometimes we would walk in or out, and there would be Mariachi players. The last day, they played during breakfast. They scrubbed the room and bathroom every day at great length, as if they were your weekly maids. Probably, continental breakfast is included, but we were family and friends, who gathered every morning for the breakfast buffet, to sit and chat and catch up, and eat and eat.

A former 19th-century water-purifying centre next to the Iglesia de San Francisco in the colonial city of Puebla. Purity is the guiding principle of the hotels design as executed by renowned architect Ricardo Legorreta: black and white are the only colours, bringing out the subtleties of the materials used stone from the original building, old wood, onyx and custom floor tile, as well as found materials such as bottles and glass fragments, which are also integrated in the hotel's graphic design.

Un magnifique hôtel, très design, la piscine est extraordinaire. Dommage qu'il faille la moitié de la journée pour faire chauffer le jacuzzi et qu'il n'y ait pas le wifi. Sinon, grande chambre, déco épurée mais raffinée et originale, lit king size. Un séjour de rêve !

Luxury stay at Bed & Breakfast

Excellent location. Our room was exquisite (we had a suite which included a loft with a sofabed that came in handy for my partner's snoring), the staff members were friendly & helpful and not put off by our lack of Spanish language skills. The breakfast consisted of 4 delectable courses, a truly wonderful meal in both presentation and taste. Belem, (owner, hostess, & head chef) made a point of introducing herself and greeting us each day, checking in with us to be sure we were happy & comfortable. We did not take advantage of the spa offerings (so we cannot comment on that), but if we are ever to return to Cholula, this is the place we would stay. We highly recommend Estrella de Bellem for business people and couples on a getaway.

Whether angels have laid their heads to rest here, or as legends claim, helped to build the cathedral's bell tower remains a mystery. Resident angels or no, Puebla's brightly painted streets, located about a two hour drive from Mexico City, pour forth Spanish Colonial splendor in a manner that feels almost European. Some of the finest examples of Spanish Colonial Rococo exist here, and the Capella del Rosario, is not to be missed. Hotel location was great and was quite close to all of Puebla's major downtown attractions. It's a nice petite 3 start hotel type in my opinion. Only a couple of issues: My reservation name/last name was mispelled so they had a hard time finding it. The Front desk agent who checked us in was kinda questioning the rate I had prepaid through [...]and ended up calling his manager over the phone to confirm info and you can only watch one channel in the room's t.v, other than that everything else great, very clean hotel though...

We had a late check-in and were expected. The room was fairly modern and the beds were comfortable, however, there was construction going on outside and a jackhammer was uses off and on the whole night. We would have liked to have a chair in the room to use the writing desk. Two bottles of water were provided free of charge but no glasses in the room or bathroom. Also it would have been nice to stock the bathroom with some toilet paper, only a few sheets remained on the roll. The breakfast which was included was skimpy, no juice available. The price was great so for this reason we would still recommend the hotel.

loved this small hotel and the staff could not have nicer. took 2 days of cooking classes with chef alonso and his assistant, lisbeth, both of whom are extremely patient. good location, too. the small street was under construction and renovation when we arrived and by the time we left it could not have been more charming with each of the buildings painted a different and bright color. very convenient to the zocalo, markets and most of the historical sites. puebla is very clean and pretty, the citizenry friendly and the safest city we have been to. the food in the restaurant was very good as well and the service easy and friendly. we both speak very poor spanish and, while english is not widely spoken, all were patient and tolerant of our efforts. we hope to return sooner rather than later. many thanks go to the hotel staff. we arrived on the 8:30 pm flight and our taxi driver had some difficulty locating the hotel so when we arrived the staff did not behave as if we had kept them waiting at all. all we had to do when we returned to the hotel was walk in the door and they handed us our key - a very large and old key. again, worth your time to go there.

The place is good, but there are just 2 things I do no like about it. 1st: during my business trips I need to carry a tool box and it is king of heavy, the hotel does not have ramps for this, so Its a pain to go up stairs with my luggage, 2nd: its ridiculous that internet is not included. It should be for free or included in the room price.

Most employees fluent in English. Room was fairly clean. Housekeeping was prompt. Restaurant buffet was excellent. Premium charged by hotel for ordering taxi and charging to room yet they cannot exchange currency.

La Quinta Luna is strong on style, but needs more substance.
Pros:
• Beautiful and safe
• Excellent restaurant, but pricey
• Wireless internet connection was strong
Cons:
• Hard bed. Hotel advertises "featherbed". It really means typical hard Mexican mattress with duvet on top.
• Silly enormous key (about 8 inches). Impossible to carry the key and door can't be closed without locking. This means that my wife couldn't stay in the room while I went out, unless I locked her in.
• Water pressure in shower was very low.
• I reserved the Canejo room 10 months in advance, but was told it wasn't available. Instead I got the Coyote room which has a table and chairs right outside the window, with guests sitting a few feet away.
• Thin walls; you can hear everything in the next room.

I can honestly say this was probably the best service I have EVER experienced. The staff was phenomenal and available 24/7. This includes the restaurant and their staff where the food was excellent and very well priced!

We loved the hotel, excellent service, excellent food, Great location, and the room was great!!! What we hated is that our room was just in front the pool restaurant and we had the unfortune to hear a bunch of women having a baby shower. Like 40-50 women screaming and talking loud just in front of our room!!! It was very annoying!!!!!

Nice hotel. Old but clean. Great restaurant. Only problem: rooms don't have air conditioned or fans, only a heater; if you go in summer, room can become VERY hot even in a cool night. I stayed in room 229 mid May 2009; the whole area was very hot. Stay away from it. I don't know if it's the same heat in other rooms on a different orientation.
Would I return to this hotel? YES.

Can't beat the value nor location. Just steps from the cathedral and with a good restaurant. Across the street and a few doors down is a great pizza place (as in Italian-style pizza, wood oven baked, etc.). Everything there is to see in Puebla is walking distance. Ambiance is wonderful. Room was ceramic tiled everywhere. The only issues are that restaurant doesn't open until 8 am, the street noise and exhaust from motorcycles/scooters comes into restaurant (Be sure to take a seat away from the windows.), and there isn't always hot water. I would stay here again.

The hotel was charming and the room was very nice.
The room key system was not working properly, causing us to waste time on several occasions, having to go back to the front desk.
Only two members of the hotel staff spoke much English.
The food in the restaurant was good, although the food was not very warm in weekend buffet.
My girlfriend and I both liked the Hotel Puebla de Antano and would stay there again.
The hotel was good value for the cost. The location, near the zocolo, was fantastic!

I really do not understand how this hotel was rated 3 stars. It looks ok from outside, but the rooms are very dirty, moldy, smell bad and extremely noisy. You have to wait almost 5-10 min to get hot water in the shower. For this price you can get way better rooms in Puebla.
Overall, very bad experience.

old and charming in a beautiful city close to the historic center. many things to see within a few blocks. room was old high ceiling charm. Very nice. will use it again if we go to puebla. only criticism was very slow service in a request for coffee and tea. Our friends had to leave before it came.

Located right on the Zocalo, so you can enjoy great food and entertainment within easy walking distance. The staff is very friendly and accomodating. The hotel itself is a gem with it´s history and charm. The rooms are clean and well appointed although a bit small. I loved it.
