Hilton Los Cabos

We had fantastic stay. We stoped by other "comparable" hotels and the Hilton by far had the best layout, beach, pool, service and restaurant options. Only bad thing I can say is it is at least 15-20 minutes from either San Jose or Cabo San Lucas - so cabs get expensive. But because it is in the middle of both towns, it gives you two dining options (not to mention the hotel has some nice ones).

Very friendly staff, accommodations were excellent. Everything is right there at the hotel - dining options, activities, etc. Both Cabo and San Jose are short drives. Had a great time.

Great Time in Cabo

Marina Boss
- Jan 30, 2012
We are very happy with our choice of Riu Santa Fe. The staff are top notch, the food was great (my wife is a strict vegan , no problems at all). The rooms are clean & comfortable. The only suggestion I'd have for Riu is that it would be a bit nicer to have public restrooms closer to the pool in the center of the complex. The alcohol was typical for an all-inclusive. There are 4 of us that travel together every year, sometimes more, and we will, without a doubt, stay with Riu again.

First time being in Cabo I have to say it was an amazing trip, the hotel was great, extremely friendly staff.Plenty room by the pool and beach, very clean rooms and overall property. Since we stayed on the ocean side we were far from the main bars and restaurant. The location of the hotel was very close to town we walked one day and took water taxi other times. Also this is the best time to see the whales there are different prices but try to book it in advance and do the early morning tour, we had to wait few days to see them.Being an all inclusive the food was great and so were the drinks. Will definetly go back again soon.

Great stay, Great staff and beautiful grounds! Love Dreams. I'm planning on trying the location in Puerto Vallarta next.
Had one minor issue. Phone calls from outside the hotel were never received. In fact it was a guest who left and was detained at the airport. They called several guests at the hotel and none of us received her messages.

This hotel was excellent!
The staff works very hard to take care of the resort and were very attentative to our needs. The location is perfect as it is located halfway between Cabo and San Jose, with bus stops convienently located just outside the hotel. Melia has one of the few swimmible beaches in the area which was a bonus and the food was quite good for an all inclusive. Overall I would strongly recommend this hotel to others.

Beautiful hotel with a few small issues
-
CALILUV
- Dec 17, 2011
Hotel was beautiful and staff was friendly. I would recommend, but a few issues to take note of:
We were a little disappointed because after we booked our reservation, we saw online that they were offering a free upgrade which included extras like free breakfast, afternoon cocktails and a nicer room - we asked them if they could extend this promotion to us and they told us no since we had already booked our room before they put the offer online. Not the end of the world, but we felt that they could have cut us a break considering that we were there during a very quiet time (the hotel was maybe 10% full). Make sure you search online for promotions BEFORE booking your room!
Hotel is a bit far from the marina, but they do offer a shuttle for $10 per person (cab is $20 each way so it's a good deal). Only problem is the shuttle picks up/drops off only a few times a day, so you have to arrange your schedule around them. Food at the hotel was decent but pricey, so we liked to go into town for cheaper and more authentic meals. Beach is not swimmable, but we didn't mind taking the shuttle to the other beaches. The hotel grounds are beautiful so we did enjoy having a few days laying by the pool/beach and it's especially pretty at night with the torches (has a more intimate, romantic feel than other large hotels).
Not sure if there was some kind of "employee friends and family" thing going on, but there were several large local families hanging around the pool that didn't seem to be guests of the hotel. They brought large coolers of snacks and drinks, which you wouldn't expect to see at a 5 star hotel. Yes, ordering food from the hotel is a bit expensive and I understand that some people may want to bring their own food to save money, but there is a more discreet way to do it and not act like you're on a camping trip. For example, we were in the jacuzzi when a large family came over dragging their cooler and then we watched in horror as an elderly lady calmly poured maple syrup (not joking) into a little boy's hand as he sat in the jacuzzi, which he licked off and then rinsed his sticky hands in the water. Overall, it made what could have been an upscale pool experience into a tacky atmosphere.

Everything was nice, suggest to get rental at airport, its a ways from town and taxi rides can get expensive. To the hotel from the airport was 80 dollars for four people and going into town is 20 a couple; which cost us 120 for the first night. We got a deal on a rental for 270, it was well worth it and should have got it at the airport. Just becareful with getting over charged, the first rental offered 460 and the second 270 so do not take the first offer. Hotel was nice even though it was seperated from city. Would stay again......Internet sucks, they did not have it in rooms and had to purchase for alomost 100 dollars for the week, I needed it for school so had no choice, other than that I LOVED IT. It did work at the pools, so maybe people can reguest a room next to the pools.

Needing a break

Beautiful property, set up such that you had a feeling of privacy and not overcrowding. Staff very well run, great attention to details in the room and the overall property. 5 great pools!
A little bit out of town, they do offer a shuttle which is great for a run to Cabo, otherwise we rented a car for last half of trip to explore further.
I would recommend this property and would stay here again!
