Excellent, convenient downtown location. This hotel is definitely focused on the business traveler or travelers who don't plan to spend much time on property. Women traveling alone should feel safe and comfortable. The entire hotel staff is exceptionally friendly and very helpful. Very well maintained and clean with minimum amenities. Restaurant's menu selection and service were above average. Room service menu & hours are limited.

few points:
- I would say that this hotel is more for business travelers than vacation travelers due to it's location near the universities and the business district. You cannot walk to the downtown, however, the cab fare from the hotel to the historic historic center is very affordable, around 50 pesos (about 5 USD). I cannot comment on city bus, did not have a chance to take one.
- the staff is EXTREMELY friendly and useful. I mean it: the lady at the reception works with a tiny laptop she carries around and answer questions re. tourist visit and even print the maps, etc. All courteous, talkative and professional.
- hotel has a small business center with 2 computers which are unlocked and connected to a printer and a scanner
- the restaurant is fine but I can''t say much, I had only breakfast there
- the room was large, with air conditioning, functional and very clean.
- the check out was easy, it took only few minutes (check in as well)
- there are cabs around the area and it's fairly easy and quick to get one.
This hotel is not a luxury hotel, so don't expect a resort "Cancun/Las Vegas style". However, for the value, this is a fantastic hotel and I sincerly can't find anything wrong to say about them. It's practical, clean, friendly and comfortable.

Many of us only know Guadalajara as a place to make a connecting flight en route to the final destination, but these days Mexico's second city is booming, tourism and industry alike. So it's only natural that it'd be in line for its first high-design lodging, which comes in the form of Clarum 101, a hotel that does its best to remind us of the days when the phrase "boutique hotel" was virtually a guarantee of exclusivity. With just six rooms and three suites, exclusivity is definitely the word here and the location, in an unmarked building on a leafy avenue, is central and yet discreet as can be. It doesn't take much of a staff to keep a handle on a hotel this small, so expect a personal touch in the service. Art by local Tapatío artists warms up the sleek white minimalist spaces, and the rooftop terrace gets guests out and mingling under the night sky. It's early days for any sort of scene to develop in Guadalajara but for now this is where you'll find it - leave the luxury trimmings to the big business hotels, and check out the Clarum 101 while it's still a bit of a secretThe property offers airport transfer (on request), bar, concierge, currency exchange, Internet access -wireless, laundry service, parking facilities - at cost, reception, room service 24 hrs, safe deposit box and spa service.

This was the second Hotel Boutique we stayed in Guadalajara. Clarum 101 is hidden away along a beautifully arbored street. Many taxis do not know where this location is, Please have a map and/or tourist guide with you. GPS on cell phones, and Google Map do not work. The extra driving around will cost more money. The service at Clarum makes you feel like a Rockstar. The breakfast in their little restaurant can be skipped, but the problem is finding a taxi and finding a place to eat. I would stay again.

Main reason for staying was that it was close to the Expo building and offered a pool and gym. Shuttle to the Expo during the show.
The hotel was clean and offered a great breakfast buffet. The gym was adequate - but dated. The pool was on the roof - so no one looking down - which was nice.
Highlight? The staff.

The hotel atmosphere is very friendly. The location is a safe and clean environment and close to downtown and many other shops. The only thing is that I suggest you call the hotel with at least two to three weeks in advance to verify your hotel reservations.

First Class in a busy city

The Gran Class suites are perfect for a romantic getaway, and you can forget about the outside world. You are transported to another time and place, when you are in the hotel grounds,(fountains, flowers,and great architecture). If you have ever experienced a hard bed in mexico, these are not the same. The beds are so well appointed and comfortable that I didn't want to leave the room for my entire stay. A word to the wise, run a little water through the jets in the tub, before you set up for that romantic bath for two.

Very nice small hotel, everything is very clean and new, free WiFi, breakfast is very complete and tasty. Service great, friendly staff. We booked a Junior Suite and it is very spacious, nice bathroom.

I checked in after a late flight and there was no difficulty whatsoever. The desk staff's perfect English more than offset my beginner's Spanish.
