Dream Honeymoon

This resort is a dream come true. The staff were friendly beyond any expectations and with the resort being so quaint, they remember who you are. You must get a massage in the cabana on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The rooms all have a wonderful ocean view and the amenities were top notch. Stayed in the penthouse! Spent almost every day at the infinity pool with the swim up bar. I would recommend this resort to anyone.

Staff and facility were excellent. All rooms have excellent ocean views. Location is a little ways away from downtown Cabo, but it's not a bad cab ride (about $20 each way for up to 4 ppl). Very close to Costco and Walmart too, and all rooms have a full kitchen and refrigerator. Extra fee for room cleaning. You can walk from the hotel to a private beach which has pretty good snorkeling too. Overall, excellent hotel. I would definitely recommend to others.

Loved it!

  • Mimi and Poppy
  • May 16, 2012
My wife and I had been to Cabo a couple of times on cruise ships, but this was the first land-based trip for me. We picked the Bahia because my wife's brother has stayed there before and liked it, so we gave it a try. We loved it! Quiet pool, comfortable furniture around the pool and no problem with crowds at the pool. The location was perfect. We walked to Medano Beach every day (1 block to The Office, Mango Deck, Edith's, Billygan's) and to the marina just about every evening. The room was very comfortable and roomy. The staff was superb. They did everything to make our stay memorable and comfortable. The Bar Esquina is first class.

The hotel was very nice and the staff was very good at bringing drinks. However, at times the room could have been cleaner and it being the western most hotel on the beach it was a little far from everything in town and on the beach.

Relaxed location - very secluded; staff could be better

  • Layover Diaries
  • May 9, 2012
The location of this resort is great if you're looking to get away from the hustle-bustle of San Lucas. The resort has a "spa" type feel to it and is very secluded from other resorts. The view is of the Pacific, so there isn't any swimming at the beach. The sister resort up the hill is much larger and has better dining options, but with free shuttles running all day it was much better to be at the smaller resort that's less crowded and easier to navigate (you need golf carts for transport at the sister resort). Additionally, with shuttles running to the sister resorts in Cabo San Lucas right on the beach, it's still easy (and free) to get into town for excursions or a day at the beach. The all-inclusive food was just what you'd expect: some restaurants and choices were average, but there were others that were fantastic and delicious. The doormen and lobby staff are fantastic - absolutely top-notch. They get to know you, ensure you are taken care of, and are always on top of their game. The concierge staff is definitely above average and willing to help as well. The main area of improvement should come in the restaurants; despite the fact that most weren't full, it seems like they were severely understaffed. This meant long wait times, followed by the server always appearing rushed and behind. Overall, it's a great couples or group getaway if you're going for the quiet scene (which we were). It wasn't quite up to the Palace Resorts we've stayed at previously in Cancun/Cozumel, but we still had a great time and enjoyed most aspects of the resort.

Overall, we had a great time. The service at Girasoles was unreal for breakfast. Infinite mimosas. Access to cabo del sol was also a great selling point. Ask for Samuel for any bell boy type service. His English is perfect and he will go the extra mile every time. Concierge was very helpful in booking our fishing trip, and the golf concierge locked in some last minute tee times. The biggest knock is that the hotel doesn't limit the seat saving at the pool. Pretty absurd you've got to save a poolside spot by seven am or go without.

Perfect Getaway, Except...

My husband and I went away and selected Villa Del Arco to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary.. Everything was wonderful, from the friendly staff to the wonderful service by the pool (German was exceptional.. he was super fast and accomodating).. The Spa and Gym were both really great.. The only thing that would keep me from giving this hotel an almost perfect score is the fact that the concierge kept insisting on having us join one of their complimentary breakfast to listen to a 90minute discussion related to timeshares. We contiued to decline but it is clear that each staff member down to the wait staff are all trained in attempting to pitch the timeshare opportunities. Otherwise, the trip was perfect for us.. we stayed a total 5-days and 4-nights..

The location truly is great if you do not want to be in the middle of the party scene but still walking distance into town. We paid $250/person instead of the regular 500 or 600 upgrade to an all-inclusive and it was great. Although some staff were better than others, overall they were friendly and tried to take care of you. We had not been to Mexico in over twenty years and were a little apprehensive but there were no hidden surprises!

great family vacation

Staff friendly and very helpful. Pool and beach area great. Plenty of seating available. Room kind of dark, but who wants to be in the room? Stayed in a one bedroom suite. Extra bathroom handy. Close enough to downtown. Taxis available at all times. Didn't walk to town, but could have. Had a garden view room with a tiny view of the ocean, but was still nice. The grounds are beautiful.Jet skis right on the beach and found a place to surf within 25 min. Beautiful beach. No complaints at all. Would definitely go back!

College Hangout

  • May 1, 2012
Our room was clean and spacious, with a balcony and kitchenette. The food here was more expensive than we wanted to pay, so a few times we just grabbed food from the mart. Be aware that this is a hotel that many college students go to, which could be good or bad. Good: if you want that environment of lots of young people, this is the place for you. Bad: The building is an atrium style with no carpet, so any noise that's made can be heard on multiple floors and echoes. Since there are a lot of college students here on spring break, there's often a some noise late at night. Hot tubs were usually crowded.

A Perfect Getaway!

  • Genevieve professional traveller
  • Mar 19, 2010
The first thing I noticed about the Vistazul was this cool fountain out front that made the place look really huge! The front desk was so nice and check in and check out was a breeze. We got a studio room because we were there on a bit of a budget, and it was a great size. The queen size bed was pretty hard, but we were so tired from running around all over that we never noticed. Every room has a balcony overlooking their beautifully landscaped courtyard, pool, and restaurant palapa so the place looks bigger from the outside than it really is. We felt a lot of the time like we were the only ones there, even though the hotel was almost full to capacity. The room itself was very pretty... super clean and had a great huge shower and nice tile bathroom, a fridge to keep extra beer and leftovers, a TV that we never turned on lol... and a great closet that had tons of space to spread out. The rest of the experience there was so perfect I can't even explain it. The staff was amazing. The cleaning crew pretty much figured out that we slept super late so they must have waited until they saw us leave to go clean our room because they only came to the door once, but whenever we left and came back our room was sparkling and had fresh bottles of water. The nightwatchman guy brought us a knife all the way from the kitchen to cut limes with in the middle of the night and told us that if we ever wanted a beer, or wine, or food... to just call him and he'd bring it right up! Super nice people everywhere else too. The service in the restaurant was a bit slow (but you'll find that's just the pace down there) but super accommodating and the food is yummy and priced well. Our last day there they even let us order breakfast while sitting in the jacuzzi and served us over there too... it was AWESOME!!! There is traffic noise since you're right off of the highway 1 which is the main road to and from Cabo, but the fountain out front helps to drown it out a bit, and honestly, unless you're from the country where all you hear are crickets every night I don't think it will phase you. We're city people, and I thought it was tranquil. We were on the top floor and had a view of the ocean and the rest of the property we both thought was beautiful. We were there for a family wedding held at the uber swank Marquis Los Cabos, and even thought that place was pretty, we both really loved our little spot too. HUGE THUMBS UP!!!... we LOVE Vistazul, and for the price, I felt like it was a steal.

Great hotel for a family

  • Father of 4
  • Jan 7, 2012
Overall the hotel is great. The rooms are very large, new, modern and well decorated. Honestly, I was amazed how nice and large the rooms were. The property and pool are as well. The staff is friendly. The valet and bell hop are fast and available. Around the pool and beach, more staff would help. Sometimes the wait was long for food and drink. However I did feel this was partly the laid back atmosphere in Cabo versus the fast pace of the good old USA. The property does not provide beach and sea activities but if you walk 50 yards either direction on the beach there are ample vendors selling everything from para-sailing to snorkeling to jet-skis.

Highly recommended

  • Mike J
  • Nov 7, 2011
This place lived up to my expectations and in most cases exceeded them. If your bouncing from site to site trying to find the best place to stay in Cabo, look no further. The only reason I didn't give all 5 stars is the bed wasn't as comfortable as my bed at home, but it was way better then most hotel beds I've stayed in. The Villa De Arco and Villa De Palmer are on either side of you and are also very nice places. Villa De Palmer for a more "kid friendly" "more activities" place. La Estancia was nice and quite when you want to relax, but close enough to the action when you want to party.

Has Wi-Fi at pool and in lobby.. inaccessible for most rooms. 50 time shares and almost 300 rooms 200 of which are not in use at present. Management changed Mar 1. Now operated by Sandos of Spain. We enjoyed this hotel. Close (walking distance) to town. The room was clean and comfortable. The 3 pools were very nice, could have been heated though. The only thing I would have liked is to have Internet service in my room, they only have it downstairs and then not always reliable. Big hill to main road, they do have ride but have to call for it...should have ride at bottom to take you up. Overall very pleased.

We had an ocean view, and it was worth the extra $10. The place is pretty quiet and feels secluded after you walk down all the stairs. It is out of Cabo, so don't book it if you want to be close to the partying action. (On an individual level the staff was a 5; however, their weren't very many of them so I dropped it to a 3).

The hacienda-style property lures with 260 rooms and suites boasting ocean views and traditional furniture, plus kitchens or kitchenettes.  The resort bustles with activity, sporting three pools, 11 restaurants and bars, and a spa whose signature is seaweed-based services. HighlightsPrivate beachside resort a few steps from Land's EndKids eat and stay free with parentsKids club with supervised activitiesFull-service spa and fitness centerMultiple restaurants and swim-up bar RoomsTraditional decor -- heavy woods, gilded frames -- bring an old-world feel to the 260 rooms and suites at Playa Grande Resort & Grand Spa. Landscape portraits, marble floors, archways and pillars further the drama. For groups, space is not an issue, thanks to multiple layouts that feature kitchens or kitchenettes with utensils included and separate living areas. Private, furnished balconies beckon with views of the sparkling Pacific. DiningPlaya Grande Resort & Grand Spa covers global tastes at 11 restaurants and bars. Patrons might start at the breakfast buffet at patio-equipped Calima, then grab authentic Mexican fare and smooth tequilas at Hacienda El Coyote and finish with wood-fired pizza at Italian Restaurant Romeo Y Julieta. Ambiance plays a big part in dining and cocktail drinking here -- even from the lobby sports bar, where patrons watch UFC fights on Saturday nights. Recreation Guests might be in the heart of Cabo San Lucas, but at Thalassotherapy Spa, the inspiration comes from France. Using seaweed- and sea-water-based treatments developed by the French in the 19th century, the spa takes advantage of its unique position on the Sea of Cortez to pamper guests from head to toe. Perfecting the bliss are seaside cabanas where visitors can enjoy Repechage Hydra Refine Seaweed Facials and Stone Journey Therapeutic Massages.   For group time, visitors can swim in three pools (or wade up to the swim-up bar) or ask the hotel to arrange ATV tours, charter boats for sports fishing and many more excursions through Cabo. A kids club with supervised activities rewards parents with relaxation. Great Hotel in okay location

  • Nina27
  • Apr 3, 2012
I recently stayed at this hotel end of March 2012, and the hotel itself is gorgeous, big, and well-staffed. Comfy big bedrooms with balconies, and 3 big pool with good on-site restaurants. The only drawback was the location. It's a long hike to get anywhere, the marina is the closest, but you have to get by the timshare vultures (in the hotel and right outside of it). Once you walk a good 15-20 mins you're fine. Service was great, and everyone on staff was really helpful.

Upon check in they did not have my reservation so I had to provide evidence of my confirmation number and they did a good job of getting me into a room in a short amount of time. The location of the resort was perfect, very clean and a great place for families.

  • Apr 10, 2012
A group of us stayed here before our Villa was ready in Pedregal. It was just the perfect combination of boutique and quite hotel we were looking for. The beds are really comfortable and the hotel staff are very accommodating. I would recommend this hotel to those who want something not right on the water and in the heart of all the noise. We will be back.

Nice room--convenient location

  • DDK MN
  • Nov 27, 2011
Nice room...not fantastic but more than acceptable for a stay in Cabo. Other reviews have dissed the place because of the location..it is on a busy steet but quiet enough in the room. The hotel is under going some significant renovations in the public areas. Pool area is being reconstructed (making the pool a bit larger I hear)...tearing out some walls...putting in new concrete...etc....so it was noisy..they started early and worked late. Apparently they were behind on their construction schedule. Restaurant being renovated too so that was closed whil we were there. Pool was open...I imagine in a week or so the renovation will be done and I'm betting it'll be very nice. If/when we get back to Cabo we'll stay there again. The room was a real value for what we paid...beach (the only swimming beach around as serious undertows on the pacific side) just 5-10 minutes walk away and about the same for the downtown area. Many wonderful restaurants within blocks..good for walking off your meals or working up an appetite...we walked a lot..Cabo is very safe. Staff at the hotel was friendly...not 100% helpful in just a couple of areas but that was mostly due to langauge issues. Kitchenette in the room very handy...bought groceries/supplies at Walmart...10 minute walk away. Heads up for the traffic though..busy area and Mexican drivers aren't pedestrian friendly most of the time. All said....it isn't a fancy hotel but that's okay but we aren't fancy people. I enjoy comfort the same as anyone but hey...it's a place to sleep at night and rest after a long day of being out and about. All inclusives....I've had my fill of them. If you don't feel compelled to eat like a pig or drink like a fish...then this is the better way to go. Too...most of the guests were Mexicans on holiday. If I want a hotel full of Americans I can go to the Ramada Inn or something in Minneapolis.

location, location Rose and Blanco what u need to know

  • minee
  • Feb 25, 2012
If you want to hang out where the action is, this is it. It is centrally located you can walk to the marina at night. We were upgraded to the Pueblo Bonito Rose next door it's sister hotel which was a better deal. The Blanco is nice, clean but small and it has a very small pool compared to the Rose next door, regardless you can use the facilities next door so thats not an issue., but you shouldn't pay more to stay at the blanco. It is the oldest hotel of the four sister pueblo bonitos, but it's location makes it desirable. It is centrally located and in front of Los Arcos or playa del amor around the bend you will find the pacific ocean. We went for 4th of July and they had a great show. The only bad thing is they tend to exclude younger children from pool games which was upsetting to my 9 year old son :(. Bummer, so they don't really cater to your children, but your children will have a great time with you anyway :). they have a great kids pool that you will enjoy very safe (. The shows do include the chiildren at the beggining which is fun for them. OH and shows are not free you have to pay for the sit down dinner and show . They have a nice and reasonab ly priced coffee shop and mini mart where you can get your coffee and paper in the morning. The beach is kind of on a slope not so flat as you may want to swim in it comfortably. you have to watch small children well., but its very clean. Except when it rains, there is a gutter that runs through the hotel and it brings all of th grime and trash from the city on to the beach. If it rains you can't use the beach at least for a day until it clears up. It is right across from los arcos playa del amor so about a 15 minuite boat ride to go snorkle and hang out, but because you are very close to the pacific ocean the waves can sometimes be a little choppy. The hotel is a little overpriced but your basically paying for the location. You save money and time on not having to take a taxi here and there. Overall it's a very comfortable hotel with a great pool. For kids I have to say that it is kid friendly but they personally dont go out of there way to cater to your kids. They are more focused on adults playing volley ball and teenagers. You can still have a great time with your little ones as you won't have to walk so far with them if you want to check out the rest of downtown cabo. A stroller can easily be used to go to the marina which is about a mile away from your hotel and a safe walk. I recommend taking the shuttle to the Sunset Beach Pueblo Bonito and having dinner at the Frida Kahlo Restaurant. That is if your looking for a romantic dinner with no kids. Anyhow Make reservations atht e Frida Kahlo! That hotel is on th pacific side so the beach is non swimmable but beautiful and breath taking views. this is a 5 star hotel and well worth the price. when I booked in october three years ago I paid 160.00 and I was so happy to tell all my friends that I stayed at the best resort ever for that price. However now the prices have sky rocketed! There is no way I will pay 500/ night because I don't believe any hotel is worth that. Sorry. The service is always wonderful because it "MEXICO".

Beautiful View

  • the flower lady
  • Jan 13, 2012
Pueblo Bonito Blanco was beautiful! The room was large (the Jr. suite has a seperate bedroom), the view was awesome (honestly, I don't think there's a bad view in the whole hotel), the grounds were super nice and the staff was more than helpful. The food was better than average and it was great that it was within walking distance to both the marina and downtown. The ONLY negatives would be the pushy street and beach vendors (but they were everywhere) and the mattresses could be better. However, that being said, we would most definately stay there again!

Great location

The hotel is located on the marina and close to the night life. The all inclusive has went down hill since last year. Now you have a different menu and have to make reservations for dinner. And all times are not available. It is still a good option if you plan on drinking a lot of cocktails at the pool but over all not as good as last year. Room and location is great.

  • May 2, 2012
Lets be real here. For the low asking cost to book this joint.....WOW is all i have to say. Im not the dude that ever reviews places, but for this one i have to haha. Its Clean, close to everything and the beers in the fridge in your room are cold. walk out on the patio and see the marina or the pool, ill take that any day of the week. Take off in the morning, haggle a good price on an excursion day trip. eat some amazing food at the all inclusive food joints, drink, drink some more and then walk about half a mile to the heart of downtown to party at night, come on!!! Just cant beat it here! This hotel is located in the perfect spot. It is right on the marina, and walking distance from the beach. you can either left turn on the marina and walk about 2 miles to medano beach, or you can walk through the lobby exit to the right and walk about 2 blocks and end up right next to mango deck, wich is medano beach. At the end of the day, rooms stay clean, beer stays cold, and food stays inclusive. Im going back in September. Oh ya, before i forget....you do have to "sign" for everything, but dont worry you will not be charged. its just to regulate inventory and what consumers are eating and drinking. after all the hotel has to know what to order for next time, right? Thats all folks......Godspeed.....

Great Vacation - Go for the All inclusive!! Beautiful Spa

  • Jesstress
  • May 21, 2012
My girlfriends and I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights and had an amazing time. The entire property was well kept, very clean and beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful, all spoke some amount of English, so communication was easy. The Spa was beautiful and very affordable. We all signed up for a package deal and received 3 treatments for $75 each. That allowed us access to all of the spa amenities (including a great/clean/well equipped) gym, sauna, hot tubs, and showers. We went for the all inclusive package at the hotel which provided all food and drinks (including alcohol) and we feel that it was well worth it. The all inclusive package also allowed access to two other related properties. It really was a great trip.

It was very clean, nice, and calm. I would honestly recommend to buy the all inclusive package when going otherwise, you would be paying a small fourtune for food. Other than that it was awesome, I traveled with my husband and 2 kids and the staff were just super nice and accomodating!!

Balconies overlook the grounds and the spectacular Sea of Cortez. DiningTwo hacienda-style restaurants offer fine dining at Hacienda Encantada Resort & Spa All Inclusive. RecreationLeisure time at Hacienda Encantada Resort & Spa All Inclusive centers on the two outdoor pools, but visitors can also relax in the Jacuzzis or at the holistic spa. Zennnn with Amazing Views!!!

  • BMarine1904
  • May 3, 2012
My boyfriend and I stayed in the resort in December. It was a little chilly in the morning and late at night. However, the staff was always ready in the restaurants with comfy blankets since their main restaurant is out in the open. The views are so beautiful. The views are spectacular from the room, from the pool and from the beautiful restaurant. Make sure you watch the sunset and sunrise. You can't miss it. The drinks are great. The food is very good. The infinity pool is so relaxing. We saw Whales from afar while sipping our margaritas in the infinity pool. The staff is very accommodating. Great service. There's a shuttle that takes you to their sister hotel in the Marina of Cabo San Lucas. It's very close. There's a special table by the infinity pool that is on the edge of a cliff. It's a great place to have a snack while listening to the waves crashing. You will love this place!!
