Mauritius

The hotel sent us a driver to the airport to pick us up. The driver was good and explained the landscape of Mauritius and indicated a few places to see.Check in was OK. We had some welcome drink (could have been a fresh squeezed juice instead). Nice villa, felt right like home. The tropical garden near the villa was very good. A small but neatly maintained private beach on premises. The staff are well mannered, and service oriented. Food: We only had breakfast there on all days. The brreakfast was allright. Fresh squeezed juices, more fresh fruits, properly cut and peeled would have been better (there were only pineapples, papaya and mango on all days- only one day we had passion fruit) Some improvements needed: *Pest control - too many mosquitoes, cockroaches, ants, geckos,snails etc in the garden, which limits the amount of time we can spend outside. Few mosquitoes and ants in the villa *Breakfast- being vegetarians, our choice was very limited. More fresh fruit and vegetable salads can be added. Fresh squeezed juices, fresh cheese would have helped. *General maintenance- several cracks and ripped off paint in the villa. Understand that the renovated villas near the beach are much better, but the one we stayed requires renovation. *Hotel policies- We had requested for a late checkout with the reception and the staff there readily agreed,told us they were not expecting another guest so we could have it free and also arranged for our airport drop at 2-30PM. However at 11AM, one of their staff showed up at the villa and said checkout time, please get your luggage. After that we had calls every few seconds to literally chase us out of Ocean Villas. Apparently, the late checkout required some approvals which were not in place. This should have been explained to us upfront and we would have been happy to pay an extra charge to keep the villa, since we were travelling with an infant.

I took my wife for a "special birthday" celebration and it was certainly special, one of the best hotels in which I have stayed. All the staff were fantastic from the monent we arrived until our departure, the room was lovely and the food excellent. I would certainly recommend a massage in the Spa. There is a fantastic mile long beach about a mile away within easy reach by the complementary cycles provided. Highly recommended. 2

Cet hôtel est fidèle à sa réputation : il est magnifique. Probablement l'un des plus beau hôtels de l'ile. Je l'ai recommandé à des connaissances qui elles non plus n'ont pas été déçu. Idéal pour un séjour romantique.

Parfait du début à la fin, le personnel est souriant, serviable, aux petits soins pour vous accueillir et faire de votre séjour un moment agréable et reposant, seul petit bémol pour la plage artificielle

A very cosy hotel with huge territory offering more than one can dream of. Extra services (including meals) are rather expensive. The staff is friendly and claims for high level, but sometimes too slow and careless. A full range of sports facilities and amazing spa complex.

Excellent hotel, great service, great people. The atmosphere over there is brilliant. Very safe place as well. There are many activities in the hotel itself.

夕食、朝食ともにバイキングですが、今ひとつの感が否めません。 サラダには、何と赤いプラスチックの破片が混入しており、 スタッフに指摘したところ、蟹の殻だと言われ、それを否定しても何も反応がなく、 その後スタッフの接客がさらに悪くなりました。 もちろん、蟹はその日の夕食には一切出てきていませんでした。

Chambre à notre arrivée avec une souris et des crottres existantes depuis plusieurs jours derrière les lits et armoire, la reception de l'hotel n'a pas nettoyé la chambre comme demandé et avons du insisté lourdement pour changer de chambre. Le service de restauration est très médiocre à tel point que nous avons pris nos diners en dehors de l'établissemnt alors qu'ils étaient compris dans le prix. Nous n'y retournerons plus.

A small and friendly hotel in a small resort just a very short bus ride away from the more bustling town of Grand Bay. On arrival we were given a self catering studio at the back of the hotel. After one night there, we were not happy, having booked a pool view room and the staff went out of their way to change our room which had a balcony and was very comfortable. We did not have breakfast included but snacked in Rik and Kaths, a small cafe situated at the front of the hotel - excellent and very friendly. Buses run from the front of the hotel on a very regular basis and are very cheap. All hotel staff very kind and friendly and polite. I much prefer the smaller hotels to the impersonal 5 star hotels and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone, including my friends.

I've just returned from my visit at Le Suffren hotel whilst on a business trip for 3 weeks and enjoyed my stay with them throughout. All staff were very friendly and helpful at all times and in all sections of the hotel. They were concious of meeting guest needs at all times. e.g holding doors open in corridors and always letting the guest to go first The restuarant food was excellent quality and value. I ate here most nights because of this - not something I do normally! Service was always well timed. Eating out in Port Louis restuarants was disappointing by comparison.The Labourdonnais sister hotel also had a good restuarant. There was free internet in the public areas which was popular amongst guests with laptops, ipads, smartphones. Paid access to internet was available in rooms and was better. The cost wasn't so bad in the end if you just wanted 1 hour continous access. The gymnasium and swimming pool and sauna were at the sister hotel and provided a small but good facility for working out. The hotel had a water taxi to get you to the other side of the harbour for the sister hotel and shops. This was very frequent and well used. The Spinnaker bar was a good place to chill out and quench the thirst after a hot day. On Fridays between 5pm and 9pm it was happy hour. This was well attended by the locals and guests and had a great atmosphere for everyone starting the weekend. I'd recomend this hotel to anyone staying for business or short stopover if you are on your holidays. I'll definitely stay again if the opportunity arises.

Location is perfect, the beach is very nice (nicer than the neighbouring Hilton which is way narrower) and there is a magnificent garden. Swimming pool beautiful. Service is fine but pretty hands off (depends what you like !). The rooms are beautiful and the beds just unbelievably comfortable. Absolutely perfect for a family vacation

l endroit qu ll faut choisir si vous recherchez des vacances au calme dans 1 bel endroit ou on s occupe de vous. sans trop de monde tout en restant tres convivial avec le spectacle du lagon tel qu on l imagine.

While the location is gorgeous, the website pictures and descriptions are a bit deceiving. Ants and cockroaches in the room, beds are hard and uncomfortable, and food is decent but nothing like the pictures shown. We took a boat out to swim with dolphins (which there were few) and one engine broke down 10 minutes into the trip. No other boat was sent out and the guides tried to pretend we were going slow intentionally. It took over an 1 1/2 hrs to get back, when the other boat from our resort got back in 30 minutes. No compensation or apology was offered. Snorkeling gear was in poor condition and you can only rent it for free if you go on an organized trip with the hotel (not a detail included on the web). Also can't waterski unless 6 people go. Drinks (including non-alcoholic) are not included in the all-inclusive package.. not even water. We enjoyed our stay, but were disappointed by several things.

L'endroit est superbe, il y aurait vrsiment de quoi faire un excellent hotel, par contre au niveau restauration c'est la catastrophe manque de choix, et leger probleme de rapidite 45 minutes d 'attente pour une pizza, le systeme de tout ce qui concerne la restauration ainsi que le bar est a revoir...... Fermeture du bar trop tot !!!!!!!!!!! Au cune annimation sauf le soir du 31 un feux d'aritifice mais sur le reste des jours rien............. Tant la journee que le soir.
