This is a nice hotel, no doubt, but it is not like the Grand Hyatts in the Gulf region. The food and beverage outlets were good to very good, and we particularly liked the Lounge which is open all day for coffee, snacks, small meals and drinks. The breakfast was great, too. The rooms let the hotel down - the beds are hard and the airconditioning noisy.

The hotel also has an outdoor swimming pool just off the lobby. This is a good standard hotel in a good location.
ME 08/08 This is a modern, multi-storey, white building with an impressive entrance. There is an extremely large car park in front of the hotel. The hotel is located in the heart of the busy commercial district.

Things were kicked off wrong when I found a half full can of Red Bull stashed behind my TV that one of the hotel staff took from my minibar. The next bad was I exercise regularly so I went to the gym. A larger man did not like the noise from my treadmill because I run so fast. (they were cheap, garbage treadmills).

It was our first visit to Jordan and Amman and we loved it. Nice people and good weather even in December! We stayed at Le Meridien and liked it. Rooms are spacious, hotel is clean and their spa is excellent and free for guests. I have to mention here the friendly staff who were ready to help all the time. One thing I wished to see in the hotel and that is free Wi-Fi at the Reception area which which they have but for a price; not what we see in most hotels around the world nowadays. All in all, I strongly recommend this hotel to visitors of Amman.

I was charged 100,00 JOD which I did not understand and did not get an explanation for and still not know what this charge is for. The desk personnel did not explain this charge and as I was getting tight on time to get to the airpaort in Amman I paid this without an explaination, would stll like what this was for.

[...] the guy at the front desk tried to get me to check in the club which was 500 usd more than the room i wanted. [...] I finally went to the front desk and wrote down the names of all the people who were trying to get money out of me. this was unbelievable. Soon after I did that they said the room was available. I will never stay at this hotel again. the staff is likely underpaid becaseu this was a routine to get cash out of the customers and they would split it amongs themselves. they did not know i spooke arabic. I am shamed by thire actions and will never stay at this hotel again

Good hotel, basic services

The hotel is clean, well kept and very nicely designed. It provides basic services you have to pay for extras but it is not expensive. there is a 24 hour cafe which is a good thing if you arrive late as we did. it appears they had a problem with the system when we arrived the second time as our reservation was logged on for the next day but they sorted it out quite quickly and gave us our room. personally i would stay in it again.

the hotel was decorated beautifully, with modern architecture and bold color palette. the staff was very friendly and efficient. the hotel and room were clean and comfortable. a bit small, but not really an issue when you are by yourself. i was only there one night, but there were authentic restaurants and cafe's all around the hotel. the area looked safe and there were people walking. there was a 24hr cafe in the hotel lobby and free wireless in the room as well as having access to internet in the lobby area. great for business travel!

I believe this hotel is supurb in most ways, an excellent value for the money, however, their İnternet System ıs woefully inadequate. Some rooms have no İnternet access at all, and even the ones that do have a system that is practically unuseable. Each room comes complete with a small kitchen including a refrigerator that is excellent for those on an extended stay. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the dining facility is excellent. Once they correct the İnternet problem, this will truly be a world class business hotel, perfect for anyone wanting a quiet, secure getaway where they can really get down to business.

My stay at the hotel was very short - late arrival at airport followed by early-morning bus trip to Petra. So, I pretty much just had a little dinner, slept, had an early morning breakfast, and headed out. The staff seemed to be quite helpful. I enjoyed my mixed kabob for dinner and the included breakfast was fine. The Jett bus station is a short taxi ride from there. The only surprise I had (which I should have remembered) was that the motel is built on the side of a hill, so the lobby is on the top floor. You go down in the elevator to get to your room. My room faced out towards the old Abdali bus station (I think) and there was some street noise even up on the 4th floor. But I slept quite nicely. I would stop here again if traveling through Amman.

awesome breakfast decent view , pretty clean , the water kept switching hot to cold to hot to cold..etc
breakfast was the best part . no noise from outside , good shawirma restaurant outside and great kabob spot and juice bar all around the hotel . you could walk to the middle of town if you wanted to or you can take a 1 dinar cab ride , ( 1.25 ) . very close to everything .

The hotel was nice, they have finished up grading the rooms to a good standard and upgraded the lobby area. The only thing left that is still being done is the fitness centre and the pool so you wont be able to use these facilities within the next thee months.
Overall, Staff are friendly and food is to a good standard

NOT A MARRIOTT

March 20th, 2010 to March 23rd, 2010. As usual the staff is very welcoming and does their job saluting their gusts since it is an ego driven society.
1- The next morning at 6 am there was no HOT WATER??? Complaining produced no results again!! The manager said they were working on it BUT again, this is the Marriott with $$$ charges per night after taxes and service charges and if I wanted a dive in motel, I would have gone to the 30 JOD motels in Amman and probably had hot shower.
2- Medlow around the shower tub and corners.
3- The executive lounge at all Marriott hotels includes Free internet and Breakfast. BUT at this hotel, Internet was not included and the breakfast was something you would not feed to the dog especially the recycled sausage every morning which was not even heated to allow the dry oil to melt off of it!!!
5- ATM machine; tried to use it and it did not work. The front desk at the hotel explained that it does not work with foreign cards!! Well, this is the Marriott and if I am not mistaken, I noticed that 40% of their clients in Amman were from the USA!! Needless to say, they actually told me to go across the street to the Le Meridian where there is a better ATM machine and they were right. BUT what they didn't realize is that they told me that the Meridian is a better place to stay!
My recent stays at this hotel were not pleasant. The best offer from the hotel manager was "lets have a cup of coffee sometime" in an effort to talk me out of complaining. This is the BS you will experience while doing business in Jordan.

The staff should be more informed and helpful with booking the site seeing tours. The resturants needs more non-smoking/family sections. For a five star hotel there should be shuttle service to and from the hotel free or at a reduced price.

This is a good standard of accommodation at budget prices!
ME 06/09 This is a large block building which is rather uninspiring and a little dated. This is a centrally-located property within easy reach of Amman's cultural points of interest as well as the business district.

For the price this is a very nice hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was nothing spectacular - typical hotel buffet but well stocked and the food was delicious. The location is on a very busy road that is about 4 km from the city center so take your walking shoes if you do not wish to hire a taxi. My only complaint was that they charged for the wifi and internet access. A hotel of this quality should offer it complementary. When I must travel to Amman again in three months (in order to secure another Palestinian visa ("compliments" of israel) I will be returniing to the Grand Palace.

Rooms clean & comfortable, decor dated. Internet cost excessive (1 hr JOD5, 24 hr JOD12, we paid JOD0.75 /hr downtown public). Very safe, baggage scanned on check-in. Hotel is a short cab to downtown.
