Food was good, drinks were great and plentiful. Very fun resort. The only thing I didn't like was that our room had a musty smell to it, but we just ignored it. Could smell it on our clothes when we returned home.

My husband and I went on an overdue honeymoon for 5 days and it was SUCH a great place to spend our time. All of the staff was so great. Everyone smiles and says hi to you. We learned that if you tip your maid right away, she really takes care of your room for you. Tip the bartenders too and they love you...and they don't mind wet bills from the swim up bar! The water from the beach is a little seaweedy, but the two pools really make up for it. The bed wasn't very comfortable, but that is really the only complaint! There are planes overhead a lot, but I got used to it VERY quickly and didn't bother me at all. I liked the fact that we were that close to the airport for a quick drive to our resort. I can't say enough how great all of the staff was. The nightly entertainment was fun too. It was definitely worth the $$ that we paid. I wish I was back there now...

Although the quaity of staff service is pretty low, it is worth for staying this hotel. Reasonable price w/ good food & cocktails and nice location. Japanese restaurant was not good at all ( I can't call it " Japanese food" as it's totally different from the one I have in Japan.). However, Cajun restaurant was pretty nice. I didn't try Steak house.
House keeping sometimes came at 9:00a.m., and 16:30 p.m. Mini bar refilled only every second day.
They have beautiful beach and good for swimming (but not good for snorkeling and there's no coral reef.).

This resort has everything you want in an all-inclusive tropical getaway. The lively atmosphere was perfect for the large group of friends and family we were traveling with. There is enough space for those with families and those looking to unwind and let their guard down to co-exist. It is not a place I would recommend, however, if you are looking for a high-class atmosphere with peace and quiet (I would suggest looking outside of Jamaica for this...)
The food is very good (there are sit-down dinner options available as part of your all-inclusive), however the buffets were definitely a bit fresher and better-tasting. Staff is friendly, and the drinks are delicious. Although gratuity is "included," tips seem to be expected. The beach is nice, however we spent most of our time at the pool area.
Bring a watch. There are no clocks anywhere. Although it is nice to not have to worry about time, everything is on a schedule, and the lack of clocks (i.e. alarm clocks in the rooms) is borderline inconvenient if you leave your watch at home.
I am the kind of person who feels safe in most places, however Montego Bay and Ocho Rios were somewhat sketchy. There is nothing around the hotel except for poverty, so look forward to staying on-property unless you want to take a bus to one of the sketchy urban areas. My girlfriend and I did an excursion Dunn's River Falls, which was fun. Our friends did zip-lining in Montego Bay, which was apparently a blast. I would have been fine staying on the property, however.
If you use a bus service to get from the hotel and back, be sure to confirm your departure with the staff person at the hotel a day in advance. Organization is a bit lacking on this end.

After reading review upon review on multiple websitesI had to book this location…and let me say it did not disappoint...in fact it superceded my original expectations! Staff was top notch. Food not only delicious but plentiful! When they say 24 hour room service they mean 24 HOUR ROOM SERVICE! The hotel was clean, the service was quick and helpful....there are no worries mon with this trip. It's approximately 15 mins from the airport so no long treks before hitting paradise. Mini bar in room is continuously stocked, butler there to make your every want come true! Our butler Marlon was a real sweetheart, running bubble baths for me and jumping on every request with courtesy and speed! There’s even a club, the Disco, (runs every night, but check out Friday and Saturday especially) I lost my voice the next morning I was yelling at the top of my lung “ I LOVE THIS PLACE!”. There’s a billiard room, infinity pool, swim up bar and a gorgeous beach with lots of lounges and beds to choose from. There's a a great spa that's extra but worth the money. If I had to say anything go on a off season time, this way you’re guaranteed a spot by the pool and near the water. I can’t say enough I’ve been recommending the place to everyone…wish we didn’t have to leave can’t wait to go back!

My wife & I have stayed at the Iberostar Grand Rose Hall Suites for 3-years in-a-row now. Each year we stay at the Grand for 1-week. The property is rated as #1 in Montego Bay and truly deserves this spot on the charts. All of the staff are super-friendly and will bend over backwards to accomodate you. There are multiple restaurants to choose from and all of the food is of excellent quality. The Iberostar Grand Rose Hall is one of the smaller properties of the Iberostar Grand family - this is one of the things that makes the property so wonderful. Once you walk out of your room and out-the-door, you're just steps from the pool and the Caribbean Sea. Unlike Cancun, Mexico, the water in Montego Bay, Jamaica is generally calm - The crystal-clear water is ideal for snorkeling and there is a variety of fish and sea-life to admire while doing so. The property is well-kept - the staff is constantly painting, cleaning, vacuuming, wiping, mopping... in other words, it is very, very clean. The rooms are spacious, the rainfall shower is wonderful, the beds are comfy/cozy and the butler and housekeeping are just a call away if you need anything. I could go on and on about this place, but it truly is a five-star/incredible place to go on vacation. By the way, no children allowed as the Grand property is "adults-only." The only regret is that we didn't stay longer than a week. I recommend staying at least 10-days if you go, because you will not want to leave; And, if you go, it won't be the last time you do so.

I took my fiance here for a romantic weekend; this was truly a magical experience and a fine hotel. A few things to note:
1) Service is great. Everyone calls you Mr./Mrs. Last Name and talks to you like you're royalty! And they go out of their way to do special things. For example, since it was an engagement trip for my fiance and me, the concierge overheard this and surprised us with a bottle of champagne in our room when we returned from a couples' massage. Not only is this a nice gesture, but they went out of their way to know our schedule to know when to sneak it in!
2) Fabulous amenities. A fully-appointed gym and sauna/steam room/ cold plunge locker room. Lovely. Rooms are well-appointed and clean. The hotel itself is old (25+ years?) but well renovated.
3) No real beach. if you want miles of white sand beach, go somewhere else. The property is waterfront but rocky and with a very small (thirty yard?) man made beach. This didn't bother me - it was all about relaxation and seeing the sea, etc. - but something to keep in mind. They have sailbots and free watersports to take you out to expereience the sea, though.
3) Good food. Not badly priced considering it's the Ritz. Only three restaurants on property though, so if you want variety you'll need to venture off. Again, for a weekend, this won't bother you and you'll like the quality.
4) The ultimate binary test: I would DEFINITELY go back

Hotel staff was very nice, hotel was lovely and amenities were great. The only con was that the food was really expensive, other than that, I would definitely recommend this hotel.

The hotel was nice as well the staff. The best part was the food as there was a handful of restaurants to choose from. The only part you need to watch out for "all travelers", when or if you decide to go into town, the driver that takes you to the hip strip, make sure you make it clear what price your paying and confirm that with the person your booking it at front desk as its normally $20 a person, where they take you into town for shopping and scotches. The driver usually tries to pull some stunt where you have to pay them more once your on the road so you cant confirm anything with anyone. Especially since you don't have a phone handy. Otherwise, the hotel was great as this was my second trip to Jamaica, but first time to this resort.

Overall my experience here was great! The spa services was lovely. There was a variety of eatery to choose from and the entertainment was fun and energetic. My only complaint was the room was always stuffy no matter how hi the air contioner was on, and it always took a very long time to receive new towels when requested. Other than that, staff always made sure that your needs are met and had a numerous amount of tours and adventures set up. Once we. Saw the rest of Jamaica, we immediately decides that the Grand Palladium was a 5 star resort

Its not a hotel for those looking for top notch amenties. Its great for a season carribean traveler who wants more of a native touch w/ security. There is a full kitchen in every suite. The beach is right across the road which u get a free pass. (Saving of $6 pp). The "bottom road" is where all the tourist stuff and clubs/bars are. You are right there at this hotel. You get a free breakfast which is more of a "typical jamaican" breakfast. (I liked it). They try with the "american" breakast. Lol. Customer Service is on point! If u don't like something just ask for it to be changed.

Upon arrival staff was friendly and offered a welcome drink. Check in was not bad and we were escorted to our room. The elevator is old and did not smell too good.
The room is spacious but very simple. The balcony is a nice size, only thing is that the garden view is not very nice..The place needs some renovations and upkeep to the property.
The best part of the stay was the complimentary breakfast that was offered. The staff was very friendly and the food was great! If you want delicious Jamaican dishes. if you are looking for more american dishes, you will not find that here.
If you are plannig t o stay for more than 2 nights, I would recommend go someplace else.

Secrets- Great value!

My husband and I just got back from a great vacation at Secrets-Wild Orchid in Montego Bay. Great location (quick 15 mins from airport) and great property. This hotel puts alot of effort into activities- movies outside (with popcorn), ping pong, pool. small casino, coffee bar, pool volleyball, shuffleboard, sunset and sunrise yoga etc... Alot to do or just hang out at the pool all day. One pool heated, one pool not. Great swim up bars and the food for an all inclusive was pretty good. Could have had more whole wheat options but yogurt, fruit, egg whites etc were available so there are healthy options.

very nice hotel. The food was average. You will.have to pay for a lobster dinner unlike the sandals resorts where the lobster dinner is included. The hotel staff was friendly, but they make it obvious that they expect a tip, although the tips are included in the package.

Great Honeymoon... After the first night
- TXcourtney04
- Jun 2, 2011
We had a wonderful honeymoon at Sandals RC. The staff was friendly, the activities were fun, and the food was better than most AI's that I've stayed at.
The only issue we had was that we had to do a little arguing for our room. We booked through a travel agent and requested that whatever she booked us put us in a BEACHFRONT room. No garden-view, ocean-view (that usually means partial) or anything else that didn't provide us with a 180 degree view of beach and water.
We arrived on a Monday (which I think was part of the issue since most honeymooners arrive on Sunday) to a very friendly front desk. When they gave us some papers to sign and fill out, I noticed that the place on the sheet where the room number was entered had been whited-out and a new number was handwritten in it's place. We were then shown to our room.
My personal theory is that the room we were supposed to have must have been given away the day prior (hence the white out on the sheet) because the room we were shown to was simply terrible. We paid a lot of money for a "beach front luxury" room and this first floor room was in the back corner of the building, furthest from the beach, had a bathroom infested with mosquitoes, no fridge or minibar, a tree directly in front of it, and a few feet beyond that, shrubs that blocked any view of sand or water. When I expressed my disappointment, the bellman told us there were no other rooms available, but that he would inform the Front Desk and get back to us. We waited a few hours and they never did. Now, this is when I appreciate having a travel agent. After no response from the front desk, we contacted the travel agent, and a few distressed overseas phone calls later, we were contacted by the front desk and told that we would be shown some options the next morning! I have never heard of this. So, either GOOD JOB TRAVEL AGENT, or GREAT CUSTOMER SVC. SANDALS or both!
We had a beautiful room right in front of the volleyball courts on the beach, fully stocked minibar, and liquor in the room. After that debacle, we had the most wonderful time. The staff couldn't have been friendlier. By the end, most of them probably knew my name and DEFINITELY knew my husbands name. The resort even offers you the opportunity to scuba dive as a beginner, which we did.
Moral of the story: Amazing place. I would definitely recommend it. Just remember that if you arrive on an off day, make sure to double check your room category. :)

If you're looking to go just as a couple instead of as part of a group, this is the hotel for you. If you want to party in a group, go to Sandals Montego Bay. This hotel is very romantic, and the staff bends over backwards to accommodate any request you have. The beach was raked throughout the day; the water was clean, calm, and clear. Food was excellent with lots of choices each day and night. Separate pools in different areas of the resort allowed for a quieter pool experience. The staff treated everyone like kings and queens.

I think the only ones who didn't know that Sandals is for couples were us and these two other girls. Don't eat at the buffets if possible. The food is reheated day after day. The food at the restaurants is quite good, but you need to make reservations in advance. Staff is friendly.

This hotel is in the city only a short walk away from some shops, bars and a craft market. The public beach across from the hotel is small, but clean and not crowded. The downside of small hotel was that there were fewer eating and activities options. However, there is an hourly shuttle to the larger Sandals, which has more restaurants, activities and other stuff that's included. We liked the smaller cozier feel of our hotel. By the way, it looks nothing like the picture.

If you're looking for a place to simply relax and take in the scenery this is it; they have incredible food, an incredibly amazing spa, a beautiful beach and exceptional customer service! Nothing bad here! Make sure to get the "good life package" since the food is expensive, but gourmet food it is.

The Best!!
- Feb 19, 2011
We have stayed at many hotels in Jamaica. This was by far the best. We went to relax and enjoy the beautiful weather and scenery. Half Moon did not disappoint. We were upgraded to a studio right on the beach. Double doors opened to a patio about 10 feet away from the ocean. The bathroom was large with a beautiful tub and stand up shower. Extremely clean and the staff was polite and courteaous. There was so much to do, from swimming with the dolphins to using bikes to ride around the 400 acre site. There were so many beaches that we felt like we had it all to ourselves.
