Venice Hotels
A deceivingly large city, Venice consists of a group of
boroughs. The most famous is the area comprising the 118 islands in the main
districts that are called "Sestieri." The Most Serene Republic of
Venice dates back to 827, when a Byzantine Duke moved its seat to what is now
known as the Rialto.
Venice is a pedestrian city, and the absence of cars makes
walking a uniquely pleasant experience. The Rialtine islands - the 'main' part
of Venice - are small enough to walk from one end to the other in about an hour.
For a change of pace, ride a vaporetto (water bus) down the Grand Canal right
before sunset. The vaporettos can be expensive, but the sights are priceless:
amazing architecture, soft seaside sunlight, and a fascinating parade of
Venetian watercraft. For a more luxurious Venetian experience, take a Gondola. The Gondoliere may decrease the price if you
ask but make sure you reach an agreement on price and time before you embark.
Spend a day on the islands of Murano, Burano and Torcello.
There are boat services to all these islands at scheduled times, including
between the islands themselves. Be prepared for long lines and long waits for
the boats between islands. While exploring Venice bask in the city’s historic
ambiance. Walk through the alley ways, hop on a water taxi, people watch on a
plaza. In addition to the museums scattered across the islands, many churches
allow tourists to enter free of charge.

Amazing!

The Charming House was a highlight for us in Venice. It's like a mini W Hotel in the best area of Venice. The room (Jr. Suite) was amazing and the neighborhood was perfect for us since we wanted to be far away from the masses in San Marco Square and close to the Peggy Guggenheim museum (another highlight). The staff was very friendly the breakfast options were perfect. If I had one wish I would have a hands free shower (I'm not a bath or hand held shower person). A tad pricey for us, but we knew it was high seaons and we took a chance and I cannot recommend this place enough.

AMAZING HOTEL

This hotel is wonderful. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable and not over decorated. The rest of the hotel property is absolutely beautiful. The gardens are stunning. The staff was amazing and met our every need. I honestly felt like royalty. I was so sad to leave. We didn't use the spa but if it was like everything else I'm sure it's wonderful. The location is perfect as it is not right in the heart of things so after a long day of wondering the streets of Venice with tons of people you can relax in seclusion. They have a private water shuttle which runs back and forth from the hotel to the main island approx every fifteen minutes so it's very easy to get around. Will definitely stay here again.

Did not know anything about Venice or the bauer palladio hotel. The hotel was beautiful and smelled of
lavender. The staff was great and the room wonderful.
Definitely a five star hotel. The restaurant was good and reasonable this included a buffet breakfast that was excellent and well needed for a full day in Venice.
Did not know if I would like the hotel shuttle to the island but i really enjoyed the ride back, away from the crowds in Venice.. Shuttle was on time every half hour. Perfect romantic stay. Highly recommend.
Description
The breakfast buffet is included in the price of the room. The Hotel Style is the closest and convenient to the train station in Mogliano Veneto, where you can reach Venice Island in 15 minutes with trains every 20 minutes. You can buy the ticket directly at the hotel. You can park your car at the hotel for free. At 50 meters there is a large supermarket, excellent restaurants and taverns. The hotel is a 4 star base, medium size, refurbished warm and comfortable style in 2009. The rooms have different sizes and are of various types, all with private bathroom, shower, hairdryer and mini bar for to keep your drinks cold. The air conditioning in all rooms and WIFI service is available 24/24 h. Breakfast is served in a room decorated in Old England style. Are served: ham and cheese, jam, slices of bread, butter, milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, biscuits, cereals, oranges or apples, biscuits, pies, eggs. Upon request we provide special breakfast according to their own particular habits and needs. Toaster and microwave in the buffet. Family rooms have a third and / or fourth bed real, not small beds. The area is very quiet because it is residential and safe, devoid of traffic and noises at night. The hotel Style is 5 minutes from the newest and super-technology Hospital "Dell'Angelo" of Mestre - Venice, 10 minutes from Venice or Treviso airports and is served regularly by buses to all destinations. Value for money is excellent. The Hotel is an example of the classic Venetian tradition of tourism, a structure not great, friendly and family atmosphere. Do not choose this hotel if you want an all inclusive village or a big and modern structure of last generation.

Description
Excellent property ideal for who seeks a homely atmosphere and a cordial professionalism proper of a family run business. (CQ 03/08) The building is a typical venetian palace, originally a wing of the old monastery of the San Salvador church. This new, small, delightful hotel benefits of a privileged position being situated in a quiet side street immediately off the main way to Rialto Bridge or San Mark's square, approximately 200 metres in both directions. The main street is named Mercerie and, all along, there are some of the most exclusive shops in town, with many of the big label names. Most of the major attractions, as much as the bars and restaurants, are just few minutes walking distance. The closest boat stop from the train station is Rialto and from the Venice airport is Vallaresso or San Zaccaria.

All I can say is positive. We stayed in the companion property, La Campagna and so had little direct contact with the owners. The beds were comfortable, air conditioning quite functional. I'm not sure I've ever been any place *that* clean. The included breakfast was more lavish than I would have anticipated. Make sure you try the hot chocolate!

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Canal Grande for 3 nights in February 2012. Our room was very comfortable and attractive. The desk staff is friendly and helpful. The hotel is an easy 20 to 25 minute walk from St. Mark's square, or you can take the vaporetto from a stop which is about 2 blocks away. It is hard to image that you could find a better 4 star hotel.
Description
Nice guest house ideal for those who seek peace and quiet and who are only interested in having a nice room and family-like hospitality. Excellent standard for its category. Reception opening times are between 8am and 7pm. Any arrival outside of these hours must be indicated to the hotel before arrival. Failure to do that might incur in the guests not being able to check in. For all its guests, the hotel can organise free pickup from the nearest boat station. CQ 01/10 Typical Venetian building. Casa Cosmo, a recently refurbished guest house, is located in the centre of Venice, about 300 yards from S. Marco Square, in the quiet Calle di Mezzo that runs parallel to the Mercerie, one of the most exclusive shopping streets of the city. It takes only three minutes to arrive by foot from the public boat stop by the Rialto Bridge. The property staffs are available to meet their guests on arrival by previous arrangement, at the nearest boat stops, which are Rialto, San Zaccaria, or Vallaresso, in order to quickly escort them to the property.

Al Portico is a typical venetian house that has been turned into a comfortable place, a lovely hotel, suitable for a limited number of people in a quite, serene and sweet place. We have got a limited number of rooms (nine), most of them with air conditioning.. There is a nice room with its private terrace; and also a common terrace at the third floor, with sight on the roofs, where you can relax in the evening or get tan in the day. At the ground floor, there is a little flowery courtyard, with tables and chairs, an excellent place where to appreciate a glass of good italian wine, and rest after your walk around Venice.

Great bed and breakfast. Engagement Vacation

JasonMD
- Mar 14, 2012
I have been to Venice many times but this was a first for my girlfriend and now fiance and I really wanted her to have a great experience. The Palace Bonvecchiati was the best hotel that I have stayed at in Venice to date. If you travel to Europe, don't expect the same kind of hotel that you would in the US. That being said, for a european (and venetian hotel) the room was very clean, modern (sorry if you want the traditional venice flavor), and relatively large. Breakfast was excellent and was a mix of typical meats, cheeses, breads, but also eggs and bacon and of course cappuccinos! Although the actual breakfast spot was in their sister hotel, the Hotel Bonvecchiati, there was no trouble or issues with walking (indoors) to the adjacent building. The hotel staff went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. There was a problem with our water taxi from the airport and the hotel admitted they made a mistake, corrected it (at their cost), and even sent up a complementary bottle of champagne for the error. We used the upstairs jaccuzzi and steam bath which was amazing after long day of touring. Of note, the gym/spa was only open 3pm to 10ish and was first come first serve for time slots. I liked it as made the jacuzzi time private for me and my fiance. We went in March after Carnival so there were not large crowds. They do have (good reliable) internet access and wifi. I ended up paying 12 euro for a 20 hour plan. Location was amazing as right between Rialto bridge and St. Mark's square and was very quite, not able to hear crowds. The city of venice also started a new tax on all tourists of 2 Euros per day per person up to 5 days that is payable on checkout in CASH. (all hotels now do this) Overall I loved this hotel and appreciated their hospitality. I will look to stay at the Palace Bonvecchiati any/everytime I return to Venice.

My wife and I stayed at Palace

- May 25, 2011
My wife and I stayed at Palace Bonvecchiati Venice the nights of May 21-22, 2011. Location is excellent. We booked a Superior room which doesn't seem to be superior to any other room in the hotel. Although small, the rooms are very well outfitted with top quality fixtures, linens and accent pieces. The hotel was extremely quiet and the staff were helpful, though somewhat stuffy. My biggest complaint was the breakfast. They advertise an American breakfast which meant that I could finally get bacon and eggs. The hotel shares its breakfast room with its sister hotel, the Bonvecciati. This means long line-ups every morning. Unfortunately, they have one cook for hot breakfast, and he has to do prep work, cooking and clean-up. Each morning there was wait of 15-20 minutes for eggs. It didn't help when one women in line insisted on five fried egg whites. The hotel needs to provide a prep cook as well if they wish to have happy clients.
Description
Excellent, brand new property ideally located moments from the train station, which is conveniently hidden by the tall trees and taller buildings surrounding the complex. All rooms are soundproof. CQ 07/08 This is a typical Venetian villa, surrounded by beautiful gardens. The hotel is located in the heart of Mogliano, moments from the train station and close to all amenities. The hotel is located only 12km from Venice, 17 minutes by train, and 17km from Treviso, eight minutes by train. Convenient location, since Venice, Treviso, Padua, Verona or Vicenza are within easy reach. Both Treviso and Venice airports are approximately 13km away.

Domina Home Ca'Zusto, rising in the heart of the city in the Santa Croce District just a short distance from Canal Grande, is a unique structure that has preserved the striking features of the ancient, noble and sophisticated Gothic Palace. The hotel furnishings are the creation of designer Gianmarco Cavagnino who has made it a place of excitement and surprises that is strongly bound to the past. It is an alternative for Venice: an exciting and unexpected house with the colours, decorations and atmosphere of the Venetian-Byzantine tradition in a domestic but international context, which recalls Venice in the 14th century.

Terrific Location and Hospitality

If one doesn't actually need to stay in venice island itself then hotel panorama on lido ideal choice. You can be St. Marks in 10/15 min by regular ferry taxi whose stop is just across the hotel! Best feature of hotel besides location is the very friendly and helpful staff. Unpretentious, clean, small air-con'd hotel - maybe no pool/ tea maker etc but what a terrific terrace view!
If possible upgrade to front rooms or suite with two balconies overlooking lagoon for a great view.
Restaurants and nice beach all nearby - ideal base to explore venice in my case twice daily and return for relaxing beer / wind-down after hectic crowded day in venice itself.
If extra day free the hotel can lay on a free visit to glass foundry on murano island but need to make own way back via ferry, can buy small item gift shop at end if don't want to spend £1000's in showroom!
Free continental breakfast though no hot food - selection more than sufficient to sustain you till lunchtime. Get ferry pass for full duration of stay from across the road otherwise costs add up - take extra care with kids as noticed most pier stops hardly any barriers to water edge.
All in all we were happy with our stay and the hotel staff and location much appreciated.
