perfect location near spanish steps yet surprisingly quiet at nite. not for the faint of heart, as the staff was good with the towels but not keen on keeping the (shared) toilets operating - one of two in hall was plugged for >36h. also floor not swept in 8d, and the breadkfasts were not good. price was low for rome, however, so not a bad tradeoff. might get better once construction finished. (windows obscured by scaffolding at present)

Old hotel rooms, but clean and cute. Near termini, but not a particularly savory area. Plenty of restaurants nearby. Breakfast is served with no-fuss no-frills professionalism, which for us was a couple of croissants and a couple of packaged toasts with jam. One unusual warning- we were on the bottom floor, and left the shutters unlocked, only to have a thief steal my bag with passport in it while I was sleeping. This may not be a problem for you- especially if you are not an American, and if you just lock the doggone window!

Great location right in the centre of Rome. 30 seconds from Trevi fountain! Its also easy to reach the most famous touristic places by walking (Campidoglio, Pantheon, Spanish Steps etc).
The staff is very helpful and friendly. Room was small but it's usual for Europe the rest was pretty comfortable. I will suggest to use Jacuzzi after a long day on feet. Very relaxing.
The breakfasts are the same every day (they don't have real kitchen so no hot dishes) cheese, hamon, tomatoes, pastry and of course Coffee!

Nous avons été acceuillies par un personnel des plus charmant. Nous avons bénéficié d'un surclassement en suite royale. La chambre était parfaite à tout point de vue. Le petit déjeuner varié et délicieux. Nous avons dîner un soir au restaurant de l'hôtel nous nous sommes régalées. Un petit bémol (mais vraiment petit) le bar extérieur devrait s'équiper de parasol chauffant. Dans l'ensemble je recommande cet hôtel qui est idéalement situé

Eine bessere Lage hätten wir uns nicht wünschen können. Vom Bahnhof aus konnten wir gemütlich innerhalb von 15 Minuten zum Hotel gehen. Die Lage war perfekt um tagsüber wie abends Roms Sehenswürdigkeiten zu erkunden. Vor allem die Nähe zur spanischen Treppe und zum Viertel Spagna fanden wir perfekt. Wer nicht so gerne zu Fuß geht, kann bequem mit der Metro fahren, die viele sehenswerte Stadtteile im Zentrum Roms gut erreicht. Die Mertro -Station Barberini ist nur 3-5 Gehminuten entfernt.Mit der Metro sind wir allerdings nur zum Vatikan gefahren, da dieser 4 Metro-Stationen entfernt liegt.

Un bémol cependant en ce qui concerne la literie de notre chambre familiale ou le canapé-lit n'était pas très confortable.

The hotel is conveniently located just a few hundred metres from the Spanish steps. A good value hotel and helpful staff. The hotel bar was only open at breakfast and there was not a restaurant for other meals or drinks when we visited at Easter. Local restaurants were good quality and reasonable and only 50 metres away. Evening alcohol at some were too much ! The Metro is 200 metres away, 2 stops to the main-line station and 4 to the Vatican. All public transport very cheap. All other tourist locations are but a walk away from the hotel too.

Stayed here for four nights over Thanksgiving. The staff is super friendly, speaks excellent english and will take care of your every need. The location is fabulous and centrally located to shopping, food and sights. The food is overpriced and the restaurant is small but why would you just stay in your hotel and eat when you're in Rome?! Get out and experience the city with plenty of other places to eat and enjoy. I joined Intercontinental's priority rewards program before I left for the trip and I got a free room upgrade when I arrived!

We were in Rome for a few days following a cruise and wanted something very nice and convenient to area sites. This place was perfect! Just steps from the Spanish Steps and a 15-minute walk to the Trevi Fountain, it was a great neighborhood and almost everything was top-notch. The only 'complaint' was the cost (but in defense, Rome in general is absurdly expensive), and the price of drinks in the lobby (20 Euros or about $27 U.S. dollars for a mixed after-dinner drink!).

Staff was very unfriendly. They made no effort to make us feel welcome, and we are easy going people. We booked through a well known web travel booking site, the rooms were not the cheapest rooms in Rome, they still charged extra for coffee, breakfast, and internet service. The cleaning staff were the only friendly faces we saw working there. Location was good if all you wanted to do was shop. Tourists we met had much nicer things to say about their hotels and locations.

Hotel location is unmatched. Near Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Plaza Novona. On the othe side, first, if you have a lot of suitcases or carry-ons with you, then you have to consider that the entrance is not at street level (10 steps up) plus a very narrow entrance. Rooms are basic, really basic. If you are big built, you will have a problem fitting in the shower. Overall is OK, just make sure to take into consideration what I just said.

This hotel is located in between two metro stops and close to the Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps. The room was very small and the bed uncomfortable, but it provides a place to stay in location convenient to all the major tourist attractions. The staff were friendly and helpful and they provided tours for us. There is also a breakfast that is really nice. I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Just don't expect a lavish room, just the essentials. Also make sure you book the hotel for the amount of people staying in the room. I booked a double room but accidentally for one person. They charged me 30 euros per night for an additional person in the room. Nothing changed the room and beds stayed the same so I thought that was a bit ridiculous... so don't make the same mistake.

The hotel was great for the price. More suited to handle single travelers or two people packing light. Short walk from the Trevi Fountain. The shower always had hot water. Beds are small but not too small to sleep on. I would recommend this hotel to those visiting Rome on a budget.

Myself and my three sisters stayed at LaFenice for two nights in the first week in May and we loved it. The location is fantastic and central to so many sites and things to do. No need to waste money on cabs. If you want to go further than walking distance two Metro stops are close by.
The hotel is neat and quaint. Being on a city street there is of course street noise but it's all part of the city charm. It's clean and comfortable. I would stay there again in a heart beat.

Hotel très agréable en plein centre de Rome nous avons fait tous nos déplacement à pied. Le cadre est un bon mélange d'ancien et de moderne. Personnel très agréable. Un peu surpris par le canapé lit en arrivant mais il était très confortable pour dormir et nous profitions d une belle terrasse à usage personnel. Fitness et sauna très agréable. Massage très bien

Séjour sur Rome parfait, dans cet hotel qui est très très bien placé. A 100metres de la fontaine de trévi. L'hotel est situé dans des rues pietonnes, avec des restaurants à volonté, sans pour autant que cela soit bruyant.
Notre chambre était très propre, avec une petite terrasse : bien agréable de prendre un café au soleil !!
Le personnel est très disponible et agréable, parlant français. Il prend toutes les dispositions pour rendre le sejour agréable : renseignements sur les visites aux alentours, plan de Rome, appel à une compagnie de taxis pour notre retour à l'aéroport. Bref que du positif !!!

Very small room, but very clean, If you want to enjoy Rome and get a room just for sleeping. This is a good deal.

La chambre est petite mais fonctionnelle et bien agencée. Grande salle de bain. Lit double large et confortable. Chaleur étouffante à notre arrivée et impossible de laisser la fenêtre ouverte à cause du bruit de la rue. N'essayez pas de régler la température individuelle, le réglage est centralisé contrairement aux instructions dans la chambre. Mais le personnel, serviable et disponible a fait le nécessaire. Ne parlent pas un mot de français, il faut se débrouiller en italien ou en anglais. Nous avons pu profiter agréablement du sauna et du spa (en fait un bassin avec quelques jets) situé en sous-sol pour 15€/jour. Petit déjeuner copieux mais de qualité standard sans plus, dans une véranda située sur la terrasse au 6ième étage avec vue dominante (pas extraordinaire mais sympa quand même sur un bon angle de 90 degrés) sur la ville. L'hôtel (au total plutôt un 3* ou un 3.5* qu'un véritable 4*) est bien situé à 3 minutes de la place Barberini où se trouvent les arrêts de bus et une station de métro. C'est toutefois à pied que l'on se rend en 10-15' dans le centre historique en contrebas (oui, le soir il faut remonter un peu mais ça va). Nombreux musées, pas tous intéressants mais voyez le musée Barberini juste en face de l'hôtel. La plupart des endroits intéressants sont accessibles à pied (fontaine de Trevi à 10 minutes) et même le Colysée pour les bons marcheurs qui veulent aussi profiter de l'ambiance festive dans les rues (notamment la via Del Corso avec beaucoup de monde).

Just returned from a five day trip in Rome where I stayed at the Hotel Barberini. As it was my first time in Rome, the location (close to everything, but relatively quiet neighborhood) was perfect. I had a change of plans after making the reservation which required me to add another guest to the room. I called the desk staff prior to my trip and was happy to find the staff very friendly and helpful. They even immediately sent an email confirming the conversation. Upon arrival, I discovered that the mattress in my room had a small problem. After reporting the problem, the mattress was replaced immediately. As I had read on other reviews, the rooms are quite small, but otherwise comfortable, very clean, and well decorated.

Do not expect to find a sign on the building, as this guest house is a large flat converted into 5 guest rooms, 2 of which are en-suite, the other 3 have their own private bathrooms located in a hallway at the far end of the flat. Make sure you ask for an en-suite if you don't want to travel back and forth between the bedroom and your designated bathroom. However, this is the only inconvenience we experienced. Each room, including bathroom, has its own decor/theme and is tastefully furnished. We loved our Moroccan style bathroom!!! We also upgraded our bedroom from the Chinese room to the Blue room for extra floor space to accommodate our luggage when we checked in. Location is great, 5 minutes from the Spanish Steps, Fountain of Tivoli.

Une situation idéale dans Rome à 1 minute de la Piazza di Spagna (métro) et 5 minutes à pieds de la Fontaine de Trevi et du Panthéon.
Un parking également à 5 minutes à pieds à la villa Borghese (18€ la journée).
L'hotel est très calme et dispose de 5 chambres environ décorées dans un style baroque (très romantique)
Le petit déjeuner n'est pas compris dans le prix il faut ajouter 10€ mais la chambre dispose d'une bouilloire électrique et du thé et café sont a disposition.
S'il faut chercher le bémol alors la SdB qui n'est pas dans la chambre mais au bout du couloir. Mais ce n'est pas génant car à chaque chambre est attribué une SdB avec une clé personnelle: ne vous arretez donc pas à cela!
Cristia la responsable (qui parle anglais) est très accueillante et à votre entière disposition.
Je vous conseille vivement cet hôtel vous ne le regretterez pas!

The room and staff were good, but impossible to find, and the first floor is an empty dungeon. Should have a better sign (the door bell button to ring was rubbed down, and no notice on the empty dungeon like first floor that you have to go upstairs. No other facilities other than the room, which is okay for the price, but wish I had known that!

The "hotel" was great but almost impossible to find with the wrong address listed on their web site and a fax number listed as their phone number. We asked a retail employee across literally across the street where the "hotel" was located and they had no idea.

un peu déroutée lors de la recherche de cet hotel sur la place barberini car il n'a pas pignon sur rue :
il se situe bien au N°2 mais il s'agit de quelques chambres au 4ème étage d'un immeuble.
Les chambres sont simples et sans chichi, la literie est bonne. Le bruit de la place et de la circulation est atténué par un double vitrage. Par contre les chambres sont mal insonorisées par rapport au couloir où on entend assez fort le personnel de l'accueil préparant le petit déjeuné (servi dans les chambres).

The hotel has a very good location, with a front view of the Trevi Fountain. It is a very good property, with mixture of classic and modern style. It's a high standard 4-star property. There is a WiFi area. The hotel has also an annexe property located in Via del Lavatore 44, 3 minutes walking from them.
FR 0309 This hotel is a traditional building dating from the 1900s. The facade is honey coloured, with the majority of windows having traditional shutters. The hotel is very centrally located in the historical centre, in front of the famous Trevi Fountain and only a few minutes from the Spanish Steps, Navona Square and Vatican City.

The Relais Fontana was a great hotel, the staff were friendly and spoke very good english, the room was huge, the bathroom was well equipped and spacious (and had a jacuzzi jet shower) and the complimentary choccie on our pillow every night was delicious. Breakfast was also very good, continental as well as a selection of hot food including bacon, eggs, sausages and chocolate crepes! the view from the outdoor terrace of the breakfast room was magnificent - directly overlooking the trevi fountain! what a beautiful way to start the day! Great location, about 5 mins to walk to the spanish steps (a free walking tour leaves from here every day at 5.30! well worth it) and 30 seconds to the trevi fountain.
will recommend this hotel to everyone travelling to rome!

The location of this hotel is ideal, a view of the fountain while having breakfast! The room was generous although the bathroom was a bit small. It was a pleasant surprise to find tea and coffee making facilities in the room as well.
The waiter in the restaurant was extremely friendly and have great English skills.
We would definitely recommend this hotel.

We travelled as a family of 7 and had three rooms. We had a great view, clean spacious rooms. The breakfast was good, the roof top deck was awesome. The best part of the hotel was it's great central location. It was in walking distance to many great tourist attractions and restaurants.

Hotelli oli hyvällä sijainnilla Fontana di Trevin tuntumassa, aamiainen hyvä, huone siisti. Otimme premium-huoneen, joka oli meille hyvä valinta. Tullessamme meidät kuitenkin ohjattiin standard-huoneeseen, joka oli pieni, tunkkainen koppi. Hetken ihmeteltyämme menin selvittämään asiaa, ja saimme tämän premium-huoneen. Erinäisistä syistä käsitykseksemme jäi, ettei "virhe" ollut vahinko, vaan tapa rahastaa. Tarkkana on siis syytä tässä hotellissa olla.

While in Rome, it is about location, location and location. We stayed at the =White Hotel which is located ion the center of Rome. Because of where it is situated we wer able to walk to 90% of the attractions that we wanted to see. These included the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, The Coloseum, Roman Forum and the Pantheon We did go to Vatican City and this was the only one we had to get transportation for.
Stepping out of your hotel door we were also surrounded by several levels of restaurants, from the street pizza ristorantes, to the more upscale ristorantes.
The White Hotel is very nice with comfortable rooms for Europe and very helpful and friendly staff. I would not hesitate staying there again.
