Description
Lying on the suggestive promontory steep on the waters of the Gulf of Salerno, the elegant boutique hotel Palazzo Marzoli is an ancient historical home, dating back to the end of 1600, with intimate and cosy atmospheres.A charm resort, an alternative solution to the classic hotels of Positano, representing a perfect synthesis among luxury, technology and elegance. Large bright rooms with sea-view and with bed and breakfast mode: breakfast is served in rooms to all guests. The relais, in the heart of Amalfi Coast, is furnished with taste and care for details: the whiteness of the walls ad the blue of the Vietri ceramics and of the pieces of furniture are dominant.Completely renovated in the full respect of its original architecture, as testified by the capitals of the facade and the time portal, the resort Palazzo Marzoli is the ideal location to spend a dream holiday in Amalfi Coast.Equipped with any comfort, the cosy Positano relais offers, to its guests, a small oasis where to take care of oneself and dedicate to the wellness of body and senses: a solarium with sea-view, sunbeds and hydromassage tub where to enjoy total relaxation. 11 rooms for an unforgettable stay in Amalfi Coast: large bright rooms, snow-white walls, an elegant linen, refined pieces of furniture. From the terraces and balconies of the rooms of the Positano resort, you will be able to enjoy the suggestive view dominated by rocks steep on the sea.To create elegant and restoring atmospheres there is a game of colours between the dominant white and the blue of Vietri Majolicas and Murano ceiling lamps. An original reminiscence of the sea, a vital element for the populations of Amalfi Coast, are the headboards, painted by hand and representing anchors, fish and elements of the sea tradition.A sweet awakening for the guests of the rooms of the resort Palazzo Marzoli: it is possible to taste the rich breakfast offered by the relais, served in the rooms and enjoyable on the sea-view terraces and/or balconies of the rooms, furnished with table, chairs and deck-chairs. The rooms of the resort, among the most exclusive hotels in Positano and in Amalfi Coast, are full of glamour and charm and offer all the most modern comforts: soundproofed walls, air-conditioned rooms, batrooms with tub or shower, 26-inch lcd tv, satellite tv, internet access for payment, telephone and minibar.According to their needs, guests can choose among Superior, Deluxe Rooms, Junior Suites, Suites and flats without having, anyway, to give up enjoying the sea-view.

Great views over Positano

  • Tourist
  • Jul 7, 2011
A welcome retreat for three nights after four nights in Florence. We chose this hotel from a personal recommendation and weren't disappointed. Great room with private terrace and views over the ocean. We had a bit of a walk down to and back from Positano town but it was welcome exercise. We didn't eat in the restaurant as there are so many more attractive options downtown. The staff were generally friendly and helpful - some more than others. The only real negative was the price. From a value for money perspective this was the most expensive of all the luxury hotels we stayed in over two weeks in Italy. It may have been market forces but I don't think it justified such a premium.

Great Hotel, Great View, lots of steps is the truth

  • niccange
  • Aug 26, 2011
First off, I think the hotel itslef was amazing. It was beautiful and elegant in each room, from the lobby, the restaurant, the sun terrace and the room. Our room was lovely with italian tile and furniture. I mean, this is Europe so it wasn't huge, but a nice size with a great little balcony that had a breathtaking view. When I booked this hotel I was a little unsure about the stairs situation that everyone was talking about and it was actually a little confusong. From the street, there are about 105 stairs to get up to the main lobby, so if you cannot walk up stairs, this is not a good hotel for you. We actually arrived in Positano by ferry and so we discovered that if you want to get up to the hotel from the beach area, you either have to walk up about 465 stairs (which we wound up doing twice) or you can walk the windy street that goes up the mountain. This is nice to stroll to look at shops but it will take about 20 minutes. We discovered you can also take a bus but we never did that becasue the bus took a round about route through positano. So yes if you want to get from the hotel to the main winding street there is 105 stairs but to the beach there are a lot more. Even though this was a little bit of a hassle, you could not beat the view. If we had stayed cloer to the beach we may not have made it up there to see all of Positano and how truly beautiful it is. On our last day, we were taking the ferry in the late afternoon and did not want to make the trek down to the beach so we checked out and then we enjoued the beautiful sun terrace. It was great to lay out there, it was like a private balcony becasue there were only two or three other people out there. There is an outdoor shower so when it got too hot you could cool off. There was also a cool jacuzzi to enjoy. The staff was not super friendly but not enough. All in all I really thought it was nice. Positano is gorgeous. Just take into account the stairs to get there.

Great Value in Positano!

  • Sarah
  • Apr 2, 2011
The location is perfect, and the rooms are fabulous! Every room has a balcony/sea view and includes a great breakfast. We were able to walk down to the hotel from the SITA bus stop, (the FIRST bus stop in Positano if you're coming from Sorrento.) We could easily walk down to the more crowded beach area and center of town. Out of the 16 nights we spent on our trip throughout Spain and Italy, this was our favorite hotel.

The views at this hotel were gorgeous! The staff was very friendly. I stayed there with my boyfriend for two days and was not disappointed at all. This hotel is not only at a great ocean front location, but it had a lot of other perks as well. There is a bus that stops right in front of the hotel that takes you all around Positano. It runs until about eleven pm. The hotel also provided us with a free shuttle service to a great restaurant on top of the city. There is also a ferry close by that you can take to Isle of Capri. It was a great place to relax and enjoy the views of the Amalfi coast. I was very satisfied and plan to go back.

Its pastel-shaded houses clinging to the perpendicular cliff, jasmine-scented streets, olive groves and turquoise sea, guests need little persuasion to come to Positano. And if you are planning a visit, there is only one place to stay. The Covo dei Saraceni is a delightful, family-owned hotel and the only one on the beachfront. The restaurant is still exceptional, the view from your private balcony remains exquisitely unchanged, and the rooftop pool is an experience not to be missed. GROUP POLICY - No more than 3 rooms may be booked by the same person / travel agency or group for the same date(s). Set on the dramatic coastline of Italy's Amalfian Coast, the ancient town of Positano is a haven of tranquillity. The resort is within easy reach of Amalfi, which boasts one of Italy's most spectacular cathedrals, Mount Vesuvius, Pompei and the beautiful island of Capri. Naples Capodichino Airport is 65 km away (90 min). Transfers can be arranged.
