This hotel met my expectations. I was not expecting a Marriott with down comforters and Aveda products in the bathroom. I think this is a very typical 3 star European hotel, and I thought it was nice. The water pressure in the shower is not great, but it was not bothersome.
As far as convenience, it was very convenient--and that's what I love. Seriously, DIRECTLY across the train station. We woke up, and took a day trip to Venice by train. While exploring Bologna, it is a short walk to the Fountain of Neptune, the Towers, and the Basilica San Petronio.

Staff was wonderful, courteous and very helpful. Location was fantastic, especially after coming off the train late each day. Easy to get to all the places in Bologna. the room was big, very clean, bathroon was excellent as well. The bed was extra firm, but I didn't go there to sleep alot. The morning breakfast was a great value as well. Will stay there agin on my next visit to Bologna.

Clean, efficient, comfortable. ...nice staff.
Location was excellent...close to train station, University and a number of very good (authentic and inexpensive) local restaurants and cafes.
Lack of wi-fi is very limiting but you are welcome to go to the sister property next door and use up to one hour free connection.

I stayed in this hotel for a recommendation from a friend. The hotel location is excellent, at only minutes (walking) from main Bologna attractions. Cleanliness is top, with very good service. Rooms are fantastic and equipped with all necessary to have a good stay. Definitely I would stay here in a next travel and highly recommend to anyone who will go to Bologna, either on business or vacation.

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel prior to a meeting in Parma. I spent one night at at hotel in Fieri that is supposed to be near the airport (BLQ). The Carlton and nearby area is far superior. You pay more, but you'll get some back on the cab fare. The breakfast is great, elsewhere is not so good.
NOTE: If your wife is along, you may pay more due to shopping.

We visited Bologna for a weekend, the location was great as we were within easy walking distance of both the train station (5mins) and the city centre (10mins). Why visit a city if you're not prepared to walk? There are buses, but we decided to take a leisurely stroll. The hotel also has some bikes, which are free for guests.

Two things I found fault with one there was no information pack in the room to tell you about the hotel and it's facilities also what tourist attractions where nearby,the second thing was the breakfast buffet was a bit chaotic there should be a staff member to meet and greet you and show you to your table,apart from these minor things everything else was great.

Perfect location, steps from the Piazza Maggiore. Friendly and helpful staff. The first room we were assigned had a faulty AC, with a loud rasping noise, but they switched us to another room. When I called before our stay to ask if the airport bus stopped near the hotel, I was erroneously informed that the bus goes only to the train station. In fact, it does stop a three-minute walk from the hotel.

The hotel was a short walk from the train station, and convenient to sight seeing areas. I paid less than $100 per night and was surprised at how nice the place was. Although single rooms are often small, hot, etc, mine was spacious, beautifully decorated, and the air conditioner worked! Fantastic buffet breakfast, and courteous, professional staff.

This is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. Fantastic service, with great attention paid to every single detail. Rooms are spotless clean. Location is also terrific, right in the middle of old town, with great shopping and dining within few blocks.

The hotel is in a perfect location for anyone using a rental car. There is ample parking and the walk into the city center is only about 30 minutes.

We were there for a little break, to see the city etc.
Nice hotel, good room, breakfast fine, restaurant also very good.
We liked the bikes which we could use from the hotel, because its about 15 minutes walking to the centre and now we could see everything, going by bike.
