Great location!

  • Strand Fan
  • Jul 22, 2012
I read the reviews about this hotel before booking and each one said it was in a good location. They were right! We only needed a cab to and from the airport. We could see and walk to all the points of interest from our room, Saint Mary's Cathedral, King John's Castle, and Hunt's Museum. A bridge across Shannon River to the center of town was only a few steps away. There was a grocery store, shopping and many pubs close by too. We had trouble with our TV and safe, but each problem was fixed within 10 minutes.

Irish Getaway

  • Jul 3, 2012
The room was clean and comfortable - on the small size, but you could move around relatively freely. WiFi included. Very nice city location. Many restaurants in the area to satisfy your epicurean delights. Parking is available 1/2 block away in a public parking, which was included in the rate - need to validate parking ticket at hotel front desk. One night stay on the way to Shannon Airport.

After only an ok experience in Frankturt and Paris, I was looking for a place like this! Great room, great staff, great one man band doing great 70's songs in the sports bar, and a very good free breakfast buffet in the morning (not just "continental")! I REALLY neded this place by then. Really neat experience.

The staff are wonderful. The location on the water is beautiful with views from every room. I suggest a room with the old city view. Minutes walk away from amenities. I was at a conference at the Teacher Education college and it was a mere 10 min. walk. Fitness room and pool are very good and again friendly staff. Good food in the restaurants within the hotel. Free wifi. I'd stay again for sure.

As my trip to Ireland was for my husband's funeral all I wanted was an uneventful stay. My room was on the top floor at the back of the hotel. There were stains on the floor and the chair but it was obvious they were old. The bathroom was clean. The wardrobe was adequate for a single person staying for 3 days but a couple would have had difficulties. The staff were very friendly and breakfast wellcooked with an adequate variety of products.

Hotel room is basic enough but clean. We got a special deal of roughly €53 for the room and it was worth the money. The hotel is centrally located, have an iron in the room and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We asked in the bar if they served dinner and we were told that dinner starts at 6pm (this was 5.30pm) but that they would have a word with the chef if he'd agreed they take our order. We said we'd wait like everyone else but this is the type of service you get there.

This hotel was easy to find, in a great location downtown. We were only there a few hours, but the staff catered to our every need. The only problem was that the main parking garage was full so we had to park across the street. The secondary garage was locked and needed a passcode to get in and out. There was no instructions to get out, we had to search for the release buttons. I will definitely stay here again though, the hotel is certainly worth it, even if you just stay inside!

Excellent views of the City

  • KMattFoley
  • Sep 2, 2012
Our room was on the 5th floor, and had exceptional view of the Shannon and limerick city from Thomond Park to King John's Castle. The beds were comfortable, and the size of the is more than enough for 2 people. The bathroom wasn't anything overwhelming, if I was to be anyway critical. I've stayed on the ground floor level before, the rooms down there were a little bit nicer, but was looking out onto the street, however these rooms were much cheaper, so it depends on what your looking for....a nice view or a cheaper room!

Honestly we picked this place because it was close to the shannon airport ( early flight the next day ) worked out perfectly, first of all there is much more to do in limerick than people suggest. The staff at Jury's were over and above beyond acoomodating, they helped us out with our baby, did a wake up call, personally walked me down to open the breakfast station early, and were so helpful in terms of suggestions where to eat, how to get to the airport, where to get gas. They made our last night cozy and friendly room was a good size, very clean and price was Fantastic for what we got

The Travel Deal of Ireland

  • finnlet
  • Sep 20, 2009
We went to Ireland to vacation and spent quite a bit of money on B&B's. Our flight home was early in the morning so we chose the travel lodge through Orbitz. We prepaid and it was a little under 40 bucks. Great price, great location, clean, not fancy but that was OK. The gal at check in was trying to get an extra $28. from us. Not sure why but I whipped out my Orbitz travel form to show that we had prepaid and that was the end of that. Would stay again because it was such a bargain.

okay for overnight

The Kilmurry Lodge is a great place if you are just needing an overnight stay. It seemed geared for business people. The staff were helpful, but not overly friendly. The room was comfortable, but seemed a little tight on area. The bathroom was clean and well stocked, but the shower door is only half a door, with an inch gap between the bottom and the tub, so we kind of fought with not getting water on the floor. The beds were comfortable, but our double was barely big enough for the both of us. The evening and early morning brought out the best in hotels, with doors slamming and people talking loudly in the hallways with no thought that others might be trying to sleep. The very best part was the breakfast-it was wonderfully served and a huge selection to choose from. We were very satisfied witht the meal. The only other problem was transportation. Yes, there is a bus stop right outside the door, but it does not go to the airport directly. You have to take it to city center, and then out to the airport. If you use the bus, you need to know that traffic does not move quickly in Limerick, so you need to allow at least an hour and 1/2 to get to the airport in addition to the few hours you need before take-off. We took a taxi-but that cost us 38 euro, and it still took 45 minutes to get there. Overall, it was comfortable, but I probably would pick something else closer to the airport.

My visit to The Killmurry Lodge was relaxing and quite comfortable. It felt like home or loke staying with relatives. The staff members were cheerful friendly and very helpful. The pub atmosphere was truly relaxing; I had the best time;I would recommend this facility to my friends.
