The hotel itself is allright, not many fancy amenities but comfortable enough. Bathroom was ok, room good, breakfast (not included) fine. But the location was great. Close to all main tourist attractions and shopping area. it was very easy to walk anywhere from the hotel. And the bus to/from airport had a stop near the hotel.

Camden Court

  • Dec 5, 2012
My first impression upon walking in the lobby was very favourable, I was very impressed with the hotel facade as well as the lobby and I found the staff very friendly throughout my stay at Camden Court. Getting off the lift though my expectations diminished a little, the hallway and carpet looked a little dated along with the look of the room as I first opened the door, but I quickly realized the room was fine, the bed comfy and the bathroom was as clean and recently renovated as it could be expected for such a good price for just under $100 USD per night. I'd stay here again but I'd ask for a room that's on the inside of the hotel since my room on the street side got a little noisy late at night with rowdy drunks and hotel neighbors in the hallway as well but I was too tired from walking all over Dublin to stay awake for long. I enjoyed the free hotel parking and the location in Dublin was great but no inclusive breakfast but that's not a big deal for me.

I was highly impressed with the Camden Court Hotel, as it is centrally located, with easy access to the St Stephens Green area, whilst being far enough away to avoid all the hassle. The hotel itself was what you would expect from a 3 star, nothing special, but nothing wrong either. The staff I found very friendly and helpful. Overall, I would stay here again and would recommend it for a short stay in Dublin.

Pas de wifi hors des parties communes ( salle PDJ et Lobby) Nice Hotel , very close from Dublin centre... 200 m from a very expensive car park ( (about 58 € per 24 h ) No WIFI in rooms. HĆ“tel Ć  recommander, somme toute.

sehr gute Zimmer, wir hatten günstigen Preis. Die erste Nacht ein Zimmer auf die Strasse raus, in der Nacht wird es unglaublich laut von den Clubs gegenüber, inklusive zahlreiche dauernd hupende Taxis. Also wenn möglich ein Zimmer hinten raus verlangen. Frühstück war mässig, und überteuert.

Perfect location, great value

This hotel is atmospheric and has lovely rooms. There was good wifi access in mine, as well as a computer to use in the lounge. The staff could not have been friendlier. There are numerous restaurants and pubs nearby--such as the historic Bleeding Horse down the street. I took one star off only because of the noisiness of Harcourt Street when the bars close during the wee hours. (It's nothing the hotel can control.) My room looked over it but was on the third floor. With the ceiling fan going, I could hardly hear the drunken louts fighting and puking when the clubs across the way let out. They did wake me up on occasion, though. (Ireland lost a close match to Russia in a European Cup qualifier on Friday, and the Heineken Cup rugby final was the next night. It might have been a particularly "laddish" weekend. Then again, it was noisy on Sunday night, too....)

Great hotel...if you are deaf

  • Mrs C
  • Jun 8, 2012
First off, no way should this property be classed as a 3 star hotel. Guest house maybe, but not a hotel. Another member of my party also booked a room with Camden Deluxe using another website which classes it as 2 star, which paints a more realistic picture. Of course you get what you pay for, and yes its cheap, but to call it a 3 star hotel is completely misleading and unfair. Secondly, it is above a nightclub which is open on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights and is incredibly noisy. The nightclub is mentioned in the hotel description, but I didn't think it could be THAT bad seeing as the place managed to get accredited (supposedly) as a 3 star hotel. Don't expect to get any sleep at all between 10pm and 4am on any of these nights. When we raised this with the receptionist, she said "We can't be expected to include the decibel level on our website". Actually, I disagree, in a hotel like Camden Deluxe where the noise level is excessive, I think they should be more specific and transparent about it. They certainly shouldn't take bookings for young children on any of these nights (I was travelling with my four year old). The rooms themselves were ok; for what we'd paid I didn't have high expectations. Wasn't too impressed when I found a giant centipede scuttling along the skirting boards though! The redeeming feature of this 'hotel' is its excellent location, only a 3 minute walk from St Stephen's Green so close to restaurants, shops etc.

It's an older hotel, right near the center of town. Location could hardly be better. Most of the staff was friendly. We didn't have any issues or problems. It's as clean and comfortable as you can expect in an older building. Everything seemed to work: plumbing, elevators, etc. We didn't try the bar or restaurant because there were so many other alternatives close.

Perfect base to explore the city

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff, it seemed as if nothing was too much trouble. Hotel is minutes away from all the shopping, eating and drinking you could ever want but also the lovely St Stevens Green is right across the street and offers peace and quiet in the middle of the city. Not cheap but, as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Great short break

I had read some bad reviews about the staff so was a little wary but, we had a great welcome from the door and reception staff. We did have an issue with slow draining water which we reported to reception who acted promtly to reslove the issue. The room was exacly as it looked in the advertsing pictures and the beds are really comfortable! If we went back to Dublin we would stay at the Fitzwilliam again. It's central and welcoming.

The musty smell that greeted us

  • Brendan
  • Aug 5, 2010
The musty smell that greeted us as we walked through the front door sent alarm bells ringing. The lady at the front desk was helpfull and friendly but that was where the good experience ended. (except for the location - which was good) The room needed fresh paint, the carpets needed cleaning, the bathroom needs major overhaul - . leaking taps, mould in the shower, sharp metal brackets need removal, needs an exhaust fans. The room needs an air conditioner OR Fan OR a heater - it has none of the above. The curtains were filthy. The TV remote controls did not work. There is a nite club two doors away that played music till 4am on the two nights we were there.

Great Girls Trip!

Kilronan house was a perfect place to stay on our trip. An easy walk from Trinity College/ Grafton Street/ Temple Bar it is close to the action, but set back so not too loud at night. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Didn't get a chance to eat breakfast while we were there, but it did smell delicious!

Very nice week!

  • MIchaelNH

Wonderful stay. Room ready before check-in (which is a blessing to the jet-lagged) and very comfortable. Great breakfasts. Easy access to public transportation and many things, including St Stephens Green a short walk. The hotel is in a quiet neigborhood. My review is based in part on the value of the hotel. This is not the place to stay if your ideal hotel is one where you spend a lot of time. However, if your goal is a nice place to sleep, a hot shower, and a big breakfast to get you started in the morning it is wonderful.

Description
The Tethra Spa offers a fabulous 18 metre swimming pool, together with a fully equipped gymnasium, steam room and beauty treatment centre. The Merrion is Dublin's most exclusive address. The aim is to provide understated Georgian luxury and it achieves this in some style. (NN 07/2008) The hotel is comprised of 4 Georgian townhouses. There is no grand entrance, a nameplate and doorman in traditional livery and flags of the nations are the only clues that an exclusive hotel is on the site. Situated in the heart of Georgian Dublin, a short walk from Stephen's Green, the hotel has a prime central location.
