A very nice hotel located in a beautiful upscale residential nieghborhood. A bit of a walk to the DART train into Dublin-about 20 minutes or so-uphill walking back. We enjoyed the location and the small quaint town of Dalkey it is located in which has lovely shops and restaurants.

Everything you would expect from a 4 star hotel. Excellent staff, beautiful hotel, very spacious room, and an excellent restaurant. I would only recommend this hotel if you're going to have/rent a vehicle as it's a short drive into Dublin, but would be a much longer commute by bus or rail. I knocked room comfort rating as the beds were VERY firm, but everthing else was great (especially shower water pressure/temperature). This is a beautiful hotel with an amazing view of the ocean. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel staff were friendly, courteous and very helpful in arranging day trips and entertainment. The bus stop in front of the hotel was very convenient for our Dublin sightseeing adventures before and after President Obama's visit. We'll surely consider staying in the same hotel next time we go to Ireland.

Intimate boutique hotel

The Hampton hotel is far enough from Dublin for peace and quiet, but the Dublin bus stops 3 doors down. If you like to walk, you don't even need to take the bus because the hotel is about one mile from the city center. The Aircoach bus to and from the Dublin airport also stops 3 doors down. Just stand at a bus stop and stick your arm out, and the bus will stop. For those from the U.S. who are thinking this might be related to the middle-tier Hampton in the Hilton chain, this is not that kind of a Hampton. It is a boutique hotel offering a luxury experience at a fair price. We took a few day-trip tours which picked up and dropped off at the Dublin Tourism bureau in the city center. The hotel front desk helped us pick the tours and made reservations for us. The remaining days we took the bus into Dublin early in the morning and did not return until late at night, and still weren't able to do everything we wanted during our stay. The hotel front desk suggested some pubs and restaurants, and we enjoyed those more than the ones that we found on our own. Basically, the hotel front desk people know what they are talking about, know the area, and are very helpful.

We stayed at the Bewleys Hotel in Leopardstown South Dublin March 2011. This hotel is not within walking distance to Dublins' City Centre, but the Luas (Tram) will take you to the centre in approx 15min and it runs right by the hotel. I found this hotel to be clean, the staff was friendly and helpful and the price was reasonable. The best deal on the Luas is to buy the combo, Bus and Luas ticket.

I got a great deal for The Camden Court. The only problem I had was with the cleaners. They knocked on my door at 8am and again at 9.30am. I told reception about this and they appologised. Iv stayed here before and this is the first time its happened so Im putting it down as a mistake. The hotel is lovely and I cant fault it really. The location is perfect and only 10 min walk to Grafton St. You cant ask for closer.

Mom and I were in Dublin for two days site seeing. The hotel was quite nice with a decent gym and pool. The room was a really good size. There is free wireless in the hotel although it did not work in the room we had. The hotel was a good walk to St. Stephen's Green but was quite accessible to public transportation (buses stopped right outside the hotel). I have stayed in other hotels in Dublin and this was a good value for the money we spent.

Second stay : hotel redeems itself !

  • Kdkay
  • Oct 18, 2010
I stayed at this hotel only as a lay-over at the beginning and at the end of a lengthy multi-leg journey and so I deliberately chose a "branded" hotel(to have reliable comforts) within reasonable reach of the airport and the city center. My first stay disappointed me : the room was small and cramped - and despite numerous complaints I couldn't get a working tv - didn't find the room up to "Hilton" standards. I made my complaints heard and on my home-stretch I got a wonderful room with everything in working order; I also had opportunity to try out the spa pool which was wonderful and had a couple of meals in the two restaurants which were pretty average. The location was good - away from the hustle and bustle of the city center and yet with a hop-on-hop-off bus almost at the door. Dublin heusten station within a good 20-30 minute walk from the hotel (not 5 minutes as stated on some other tarvel sites).

Fantastic stay in Dublin

  • Quil
  • May 8, 2011
We came into Dublin very early in the morning, previously sending an email asking if we could at least drop our bags at the hotel. We received a prompt and kind response, offering that we have tea or coffee in the sitting room, while our room was being prepared. Our room was ready almost immediately and were delighted by every part of our stay. The food was great, the service was wonderful, and it is in a beautiful quiet part of Dublin, within a ten to fifteen minute walk to busy shopping areas and historical sites. We would definitely stay at Butler's Townhouse again, and recommend it to friends, family and colleagues.

Surprenant, déroutant mais au calme.

Bizarre. Très m a u v a i s e insonorisation.

The Tethra Spa offers a fabulous 18 metre swimming pool, together with a fully equipped gymnasium, steam room and beauty treatment centre. The Merrion is Dublin's most exclusive address. The aim is to provide understated Georgian luxury and it achieves this in some style. (NN 07/2008) The hotel is comprised of 4 Georgian townhouses. There is no grand entrance, a nameplate and doorman in traditional livery and flags of the nations are the only clues that an exclusive hotel is on the site. Situated in the heart of Georgian Dublin, a short walk from Stephen's Green, the hotel has a prime central location.

Very nice staff but this "hotel" (more like a guest residence) is under construction and looks a long way from having its act together. Ireland isn't often hot, but having no functioning ventilation system left me roasting, even with windows open to the loud street immediately outside. Package this with no fitness room and wi-fi that cut in and out frequently, and I must hope that there are better options available for you.

Lovely hotel. Very clean room. Helpful staff. Very "grand" hotel. We were there just for the weekend and unfortunately did not get to use any of the available amenities. The room was very nice and all the areas we saw were very nice and clean. Beautiful approach to the hotel and beatiful grounds. The only slight negative is the hotel distance to the centre of Dublin but there are regular buses across the road straight to the centre of Dublin and back which takes about 20 minutes each way (Cheaper) or get a cab. Apart from that, we're very glad to have stayed at the hotel and would go there again.

Fantastic surprise for me Mum

  • May 29, 2011
My brother and I took our mom, who is 83yrs old, on her dream trip in her life! We started in London, up to Edinbrough, over to Londonderry where we have genealogy roots, down to Dublin! We were very excited about the stay at the Red Cow Moran. It was luxurious and warming to step in the front desk area! We were so pleased with the lift that is provided for guests, as our mother has problems with stairs. The room was very comfortable except for one thing, my brother is 6ft 4in, he kept bumping his head on the beam that extended in our room! I bumped my head as well when I went to sit at the table to use the WI FI. Everything smelled wonderful, the hallways, the room, and even the dining room where we had our breakfast. Very pleasant sitting in a bright room that is so elegantly decorated for dining! However,I did not see anyone for the 2 days we were there at the desk to help us for day activities out and about. We had questions about maps and places to eat while we were planning while out in the city sightseeing. The staff tried to help with what they could. My favoirte part in staying at the Red Cow Moran were the comfortable beds and the leisure bathtub that is so long and deep for a great soak for my tired body and feet after sightseeing! I would love to come back for another visit!
