Great Value for money and very friendly, helpful staff

The staff especially the male evening receptionist was extremely helpful. The hotel was a bit noisy at night and the sound of the doors banging was quite annoying. Apart from that the hotel was very clean, very well priced and the luas stops outside the door. All in all i would recommend this hotel and it's great value for money.

Good location. Close to LUAS station what takes you to close to most attractions. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff, pretty comfortable beds. Everything was good in our room, but the other room's carpet smelt like urine.

Hotellin sijainti on erinomainen ja hotelli itse siisti ja miellyttävä. Temple Barin alueella riittää nähtävää ja koettavaa. Shoppailumahdollisuuksia todella paljon. Viihdyimme hyvin ja voimme suositella paikkaa kaikille.

Good hotel, great location!

Great location, just slightly west of Temple Bar area, and east of Christ Church. In city center, and walkable to most sights. Airlink bus from the airport stops right out in front of the hotel for 10 euro return.
Our large, twin room was on the second floor alley side, so noise was never an issue, and we were there for New Years Eve! Room was large, clean and comfortable. Free wi-fi, worked great. Bathroom was also large. Only issue was water temperature, first day scalding hot. After a quick call to front desk, someone did come up and adjust it right away. Two other times water was all cold, and had to call to report. One of the times we were in a hurry and had to settle. So no fun there. Other than the water issue it was a great stay! Great price due to the 4 nights for the price of 3! Would stay there again!

The hotel was as expected. Old but still nice and clean enough for my strict standards. It's walking distance from all the main attractions and close to many nice pubs. One thing to note is when booking through the [...]website the hotel recieves only limited info. They booked a standard room for two, but we had three people. The hotel was very accomodating and took care of us.Great trip!

Great Location for the O2

The Gibson Hotel is a very trendy hotel situated at the point in Dublin. The room and bathroom was very modern and very well put together. Complementary Wi-Fi was available and multiple power outlets were present for electronic devices. If you were planning on seeing a show at the O2, the location is excellent. If you want to see temple bar expect a ~7 Euro (each way) taxi ride or ~4 Euro tram ride (round trip). The tram is located just outside the hotel entrance. Reception was very nice and was the bar staff. Food within the hotel is expensive, but this is to be expected. Parking in the public ramp below the hotel is very safe and secure however expensive. I believe it to be ~18 Euro a night, however parking is expensive throughout the city. All together, a very nice hotel with a good wait staff, a unique location, and excellent service.

Clean Hotel, Professional Staff
-
NYC Gal on the Road
- Feb 2, 2012
I stayed in the hotel for five days in the Winter of 2012. I had a very pleasant stay. The staff was very professional and the housekeeping was impeccable. One late night during my stay, the fire alarm went off by mistake. The staff kept me informed immediately the following day about the mistake and apologized for any inconvenience. I really appreciated being informed about the incident. The hotel is right next to Croke Park. There were no scheduled games when I stayed at the hotel. So the area was quiet during my stay. I am not sure if having games at Croke Park will change the quiet surroundings of the hotel.

The good: this is a top notch hotel with great staff, great amenities, great rooms. The bar and restaurant downstairs are great, the concierge is helpful, and the rooms are larger than typical Dublin rooms.
The bad: the significant downside of the hotel is that it's located 15-20 minutes walk from the city center or a five minute walk to the bus stop.

my stay was brilliant the location was good although there are no shops in the immediate area. The hotel staff were very welcoming and accomodating even when we checked in early they made up a room for us very quickly, also the food was lovely. The only downside was the fact that they didnt provide 24hr room service for food and drinks etc... and they charged 4 euros to deliver to the room, after all the money spent i didnt think i should have to pay for that. But overall really enjoyed my stay would definately recommend.

The hotel was overall great! There were a couple of minor issues.
Everything was super except their clerk kept forgetting to put our wake up calls in the computer. It was one particular clerk. The rest did great.
Also their was something funky with their internet. We could not authenticate on our server for email while we were their.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was right across the street from the train station, which making our tours very easy and convenient. The only thing I would change would be the mattress on the bed. It wasn't very comfortable. The room was very nice and well kept. I would certainly stay here again.

Arrived early, and reception found us a great room immediately, and we were overlooking the Liffey. Had read other reviews and expected the hotel to be a shabby has-been, but it was well appointed, clean and contemporary with a good bar and helpful staff.

This hotel is really great. It's like a W Hotel in Dublin. The location is very convenient. (But, with that said, Dublin is a walkable city, so a location a bit farther from Temple Bar would have been fine.) I did have the feeling that the furnishings in the home were a bit old. It would be good if they touched up the place. Besides that, I really enjoyed my stay there. I would recommend it to my friends.

I loved the location of the hotel, it is in the center of everything. Close to shops, main shopping streets, DOES THAT ROCKER PERSON KNOW THAT THERE WAS TWO ROCK BARS METER'S FROM THE HOTEL. And they are extremely popular and very good, a chili peppers tribute played there and after seeing the chili peppers live 4 times these lads seriously gave them a great compliment.
Hotel was fab, staff were sweet and polite, pub was great, the quiz was funny, the club is cool, mixed crowd, some students, 30 plus people, hen crowd and stag nite in also... drinks where expensive though on friday but thurs nite is 3.50 beer drinks and two for 1 cocktails....

Wasnt in the best location but overall not bad. If you dont have a car probably not the best Idea to stay here. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean overall. Great place to bring your family. Its a good value for what you pay though. A lot of other hotels in town will cost you a fortune. Breakfast was good as well but a bit pricey. Id recommend bringing your own breakfast if you needed to or wanted to save on money. Also everyone at the hotel was very knowledgeable on things to do in town and were quite helpful. We went to go see the dublin castle. Compared to previous trips I have taken, this one was pretty good.

Trouble at check-in. Took them forever to find our reservation. Rooms were adequate. My mother and her friends room was on the top floor and was extremely stuffy and hot compared to ours, on the ground floor. Very noisy at night for us. Hotel's bar serves great drinks, but horrible food.

This hotel is definitely no frills but the rooms were clean, had all the basic necessities, and the bed was comfortable. Front desk staff were very friendly and knowledgeable (i.e. helped us figure out how to get to the airport, dining recommendations, etc). We arrived at 10AM and they had our room ready by 11AM! This was really great, as we were tired and jet-lagged and needed to rest before going out to explore the city. Location was in walking distance to everything and there were some great pubs and restaurants in the neighborhood. Also, the stop for the AirLink bus to and from the airport was located less than 2 minutes from the hotel. Overall, a very good value for the money. If you don't plan on staying in the room the whole time (and why would you!) this hotel is perfect for anyone on a budget! We would stay here again of traveling back to Dublin.

I have stayed in the townhouse on a few occasions now and the standard has slipped each time. The rooms are badly in need of updating eg. paint peeling and broken tiles in the bathroom. While the front of house staff are always exceptionally helpful and friendly I was dismayed to see a member of the breakfast staff who was extremely rude to guests esp those with poor English who she seemed to have no patience with - saying to a Japanese woman to smile and ordering another guest to use please and thank you when it was obvious that he was struggling with his order for breakfast. I'm sorry to say that this will be the last time i stay in the Townhouse - though the location is good as it is so central - standards have slipped so much at this stage that i'd prefer to pay more to stay in another hotel.

Good location for sight seeing. Close to Christchurch, St. Patricks Cathedral, Guiness, on the tour bus lines, Temple Square, etc. Nice to have a kitchen and washer/dryer, BUT the lobby, hallways, stairways, elevator, all not in good condition. Building in need of a fresh paint job and new carpeting. The room, too, in desperate need of some TLC. Things are broken, carpet worn, smell of mildew, not well cleaned, along with being a noisy building on a noisy street. Windows didn't quite work. Stove door missing from one room. Washer door broken in another. Yes I was crazy enough to book it twice with a break in between for a trip to Western Ireland, where I was reminded how nice a hotel could be. I've stayed in apartments in other European Cities, but this was the worst. By the last night there was a leak and the carpet was soaked. There was a promise of a partial refund for the problems, but I haven't seen it yet. I visited the office (in another building a few blocks away) several times to complain about various issues. Run the other way...

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, and it started feeling like it was my own home - the hotel room was that comfy! It had all necessities such as safe, ironing board & iron, tea/coffee, amenities, writing desk, sofa, closet, TV, etc. The price includes breakfast as well. All the staff were really friendly and helpful (knew where the nearest internet cafe was, informed me of a party that was planned for the evening if any and its finishing time, kept my suitcase for me even after my check-out until I had to leave for the airport). It really felt like I was living in a big old charming house with those staff! I would definitely go back! I miss the comfort already!
