Exremely hospitable staff - to say they are well trained is an under statement as I felt they were genuine in making me feel comfortable and at ease.
Breakfast spread was stupendous, lavish almost sinful.
Rooms may be a wee bit small but well appointed. Very very comfortable beds. Wish i could fold them and bring it home with me. Bathroom was my favorite spot.
Could not check out other guest outlets though as I was out everyday.

Inconsistent service standard taints what is otherwise an excellent stay in the hotel. The hotel is well positioned in the centre of Jakarta, close to the embassies of various countries, and is adjacent to 2 luxurious shopping malls, Plaza Indonesia and Grand Indonesia. As our booking included a Bunderan HI View, we got upgraded to an Executive Deluxe Suite as they said their Executive Deluxe Rooms all does not face the Bunderan HI. The suite comes with 2 twin beds, and a bathroom almost as large as the bedroom. Both bedroom and bathroom have nice windows which provide a view of the Roundabout, and was great to experience the fireworks in New Years Eve. The executive room we had also allows us to have breakfast for 2 at the club lounge or the restaurant. Snacks and evening wine/cocktails are served in theb lounge. This would be one of the hotels I would choose again once in Jakarta, but the staff on the reception desk needs more training on customer service.

Second time to stay in this hotel. Lovely gardens within the hotel compound with a jogging path and a spa. Good restaurants within the hotel too. Home to Jakarta's famous ox-tail soup. Stepping out of the hotel premises can be quite chaotic with vehicular traffic swooshing by. I don't think there were restos within walking distance.

i stayed here on New Year's eve, took the 2-bedroom suite. the suite is very big, also the master bedroom. marble floor makes it very cold because of the air conditioning, would be better if they use wooden floor. the price is very reasonable especially considering the timing is on peak season and the location is very nice. recommended.

Cant fault the staff but one point to mention is that some rooms look cheap on the internet the 3 and 4 bedroom apartments which are cheaper than the 2 and 1 bedroom apartments
reason is that they are directly facing the road from Hell !! its noisy and the somerset has single glazed rooms which on this elevation are impossible to sleep as the noise is all night
building works adjacent again are all night so the only rooms are either facing the pool or the chinese embassy and they are quite OK if you do book a 2 or 1 bed be careful they dont "upgrade you" to a 3 or 4 bed room apartment its tempting as the apartments are superb but if a light sleeper you wont sleep Lucia the customer manager is probably the best customer manager i have ever dealt with and was excellent at taking me from "im leaving" to actually staying and havng an excellent stay Gym is superb and staff are all excellent just require some double glazing and will be excellent

usual Somerset standard excellent a couple of points are that the apartment i was in was obviously not occupied for some time before me and the water in the taps was brown and the drains were smelling due to lack of water being run on a frequent basis the taps should be run every few days else the water in the basins will dry up basic hotel rules, also the apartment and property gym restaurant is full of mosquitos very uncomfortable at night but nothing a can of spray cant fix as the hotel didnt seem to understand oh and its impossible to make an international call due to being blocked and no means of asking could unblock apart from minor points everything else excellent

The location of Grand Hyatt is indeed excellent. eespecially after seeing how remote the other 5-star hotels were afterwards! Grand Hyatt is located in a posh area in Jakarta.The shopping malls are just within door steps.
The hotel concierge did a great job at restaurant recommendation. I was being directed to an excellent Indonesian restaurant, where the food and ambience were totally impressive!Though I wish the staffs at concierge would be as friendly as the doormen!
I enjoyed both the hotel swimming pool and spa. The massage service and price were great!
The slight disappointment for me was the bath. I do not know if it was not in use for a long time or whatever reason. There were some black little pieces came out from the water even I kept running it for more than 5mins. That was a bit scary when I first saw that indeed!
All in all, the best thing about Grand Hyatt Jakarta is still its unbeatable location.

Normally I go to Jakarta on business and stay in one of the 5 star hotels near Plaza Indonesia. I wanted to see/feel a bit more of the city this time, and also see if the cheaper hotels outside the golden triangle are nice places. Well, you get what you pay for with the Santika. The location is closer to the airport, and it was easy to get around the city. The staff are friendly, and basic facilities are fine. It's the little things - the key lock on my door didn't work well, and had to change keys 3 times. The pool had no attendants (couldn't get water, towels, etc. easily). Food service was slow, etc. I would only stay there again to save money.

I like to stay here. Good hotel in the central area of Jakarta. Ideal for first time traveller to this area. Hotel staff are always friendly and have good english skills. Room service is good as is the quality of food. Rooms are always clean and comfortable although basic. Short walking distance (10mins) to 2 shopping malls. Lots of places for eating very close to the hotel. A short taxi ride will get you to many of the sites to see around central Jakarta, or to the train station.

Internet access is very expensive, for the price of 1 hour in a nearby restaurant you get breakfast for 2 and WLAN for free.
Staff are friendly and competent.

All went well except they had cancelled my reservation when i arrived saying that they could not charge [...] due to problem with the credit card they were given by [...]; I had to submit my Credit card to secure a room; which he discovered that they have after claiming it was all booked. Then it took them few days to resolve the issue with [...].

The price is so low for a reason. You're better off paying $10 more and staying somewhere else, like the Fave Hotel. The sheets were damp, the shower curtains were mildewed and the room just smelled like an old shoe.
