The hotel is really nice, neat and comfortable. Staff are very friendly. Location is great because it is a quite spot near lot of attractions within walking distance. Rooms are big and practical for a beach resort. Pool area and private beach are also very nice. Drinks are a bit expensive, you better stock your minibar (a diet coke was 10 times more expensive than in the supermarket).
I would definitely come back to this hotel if I were to visit Bali again. I think it offers very good value for money.

The Staff are only as good as the Management,the Management at the Sofitel are not to be seen and do not seem to take an active roll in running the place.Biggest complaint no Chefs tasted their food,every breakfast was cold (no one seemed to care) Room service (you guesed it!! cold food again!!) And the Noise from the rooftop bar next door every night drove me nuts!! Would not stay at this Hotel again.

Good location, right beside the Monkey forest and close to major shopping streets, not too far from town centre (Ubud Pasar). New rooms are nice, but many have no view at all, so look before you commit for more than 1 night. Breakfast was good. Limited TV channels available and HBO had only Indo language available, which would have been for the benefit of staff only as all the guests were we saw were european. Late check-out was not made available, which reduces the rating in my book.

Hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. Though Wi Fi is not available here, they do have two computers in the restaurant for guests to use at a nominal charge per half hour. The hotel and grounds were kept in a clean state at all times. The pool is a very social spot with its nearby bar. A 10 minuet walk to the beach and it is centrally located in downtown Kuta only minuets from anyplace you wish to go within the town. The rooms were spacious and clean but a bit damp at times (but I was there during the Monsoon Season too. The tile floors have a hard time drying in the damp atmosphere. The ac worked just great and the cottages are cozy. PLenty of hot water in the showers. Yes there is a tub but no stoppers for it so showering is your only option. Located at the northern end of Kuta in the shopping district if you can call it that. Yes I would stay here again. Breakfast came with the room and you had a choice of American; which consisted of two eggs, three strips of bacon, toast, juice and Balinese coffee that was delicious, and a plate of fruit. The traditional Balinese breakfast consisted of a large portion of fried rice with two eggs fried on top, a bowl of mixed fruit, usualy pineapple, papaya, and mango or banana, and again, the juice and coffee. A bank is situated just around the corner to handle all of your needs and there is a convienance store (circle K) located right next door outside the gate. Transportation is available at reasonable prices on site. You can rent motorbikes or hire a taxi on site. The place is safe and secure. They are in the midst of building a new expansive wing that is high rise so the accomadations will change in the near future. Any one books a room next to the construction site will no get any peace until late at night as they work till around 2200 with hammers banging and general construction noise. Away from the construction site and you are golden. Overall, a really nice gem hidden in the dust of the city, affordable, and comfy. I highly recommend this place.

What a gem. The villas are utterly amazing and apart from a small issue with the hifi system, and a flushing problem with our toilets, well appointed. The infinity pool looking out over the jungle made one feel at one with the surroundings and totally secluded - you could skinny dip if so desired. We met up with our son and his fiancee and we couldn't have chosen a better location. Perhaps more suitable for adult families or couples - it isn't on the beach, but free transport is available if you so desire. A courtesy car transfer would have been much appeciated on arrival after a long haul flight, instead of which my son had to phone on arrival and we paid US$20 for the privilege. A taxi works out at less than half this price. Service was good and the staff friendly - [...] on the desk was particularly helpful. Indonesian service within the restaurant is different to what you expect in the West, at breakfast all courses may arrive at once or not in the order you would expect, but I was happy to go with the flow. Marmalade for us Westerners was not available. The Spa was wonderfully clean and relaxing - a little more expensive than those in downtown Kuta, but good to be able to go back to your room afterwards. The welcoming massage wasn't really worth the effort as it was only a 5 minute head massage. The WIFI connection was consistently good and you could even use video on SKYPE without too much interruption.So apart from some very minor glitches our 2 week stay there was fantastic and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to others. More importantly I would be more than happy to stay there again.

バリの数ある小規模ラグジュアリーホテルの中でも特異なテーストの居心地のいい静かなホテル。敷地際の部屋だったが朝（夜明け）の鳥の周辺の鳴き声のうるさい位の多彩さ、際の大きめのプールの下の谷に近所の放し飼い牛2頭が草を求めて入りこんで来ていたり、タイの昔のチェンマイリゾートをもう少しただの自然化したみたいな、ぼんやり疲れを取る居心地よさ。ホテルレストランは秀逸。

Nice for family gathering,excellent breakfast,snacks coffee drinks just out site of our room,beautiful swimming pool and we enjoy yoga at the villa.

The staff were friendly and their attention to detail was impressive. We chose to stay and enjoy the facilities, especially the stunning pools, during the day. Yoga lessons in an amazing setting were good. While breakfasts were fine the dinners were not so much value for money. Getting back after dinner in Ubud would have been easier with shuttle times extended. However taxis were cheap enough.
Our deluxe room was a good standard, the view brilliant, only negative was the sound of a pump or sprinkler during the night.

El hotel bonito y confortable. Las habitaciones estan limpias y la gente que trabaja en él es educada y amable. La localización esta un poco alejado del centro de kuta, a unos 10 min en taxi, pero merece la pena, ya que en kuta hay demasiado ruido, contaminación y suciedad. En general estamos muy contentos de nuestra elección

The resort is actually in Legian

The resort is actually in Legian which is a 10 minute (AUD$3) taxi ride from Kuta. Great location amongst the larger hotels ie Jayakarta and Kumala Pantai with Bali Niksoma next door. The Ramada has a building at the front of the hotel called the Tao beach club which really made this place! If you didn't want to sit around the more enclosed pool in the centre of the hotel you could escape to the front pool with great food and cocktails and very friendly and helpful staff.Excellent view of the beach and surfers from this spot. Try the Pad Thai at Tao.
One recommendation: don't get mani pedis from the girls on the beach - they are awful, you are better going to Melasti Hotel for their very reasonably priced packages and air conditioning!!

Ayant séjourné durant le soft opening du mois de septembre, mon avis et que dans le futur, quand le pesonnel sera formé et que les infrastrucutures seront terminées se sera un bon hôtel, malgré ma déception durant ce soft opening.
Le prix de base et somme tout trop élevé.
Un conseil pour la qualité du service, un bon service est un sevice discret.
Les chambres sont bien disposées, propres et confortables, l'hôtel est bien disposé.

I was vacationing in Bali for the third time, and although the location was not ideal (ie. not close to the beach) the hotel staff was friendly and the room was comfortable. The only thing missing that would have made the experience better was the smell in the bathroom. Sometimes the sink and bathtub did not drain the water quickly and left a smell. Just ok.

Nice environment very clean, small hotel, all rooms look over pool area. Bathrooms a little small but met all needs. Limited sunny space & beds around the pool so if you like to spend a lot of time sunning probably not the place for you. Being a small hotel you soon meet all staff & they enjoy interacting with the guests. Will definately stay here again.

Generally very pleased with the hotel and all the staff - normal 'asian scruffiness' around the edges but overall a fine place to stay. Many decent restaurants on the same street and good recommendations and cheap transport to many more all over Seminyak. Great pool - and hardly anyone (there's always going to be one) 'saving' loungers at the pool with their kit.

Everyone else is raving about the bumpy track to the hotel, it's still there but I guess most people will be in a taxi or a hire car so it isn't the end of the world. Accommodation is very comfortable and clean. It is possible to hear other guests due to the close nature of the garden in the apartments, only 4m between balconies.
And enjoyable stay all round.

A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE !!!

We just returned from a one week stay in Bali, stayed at the W resort, it was the hype this
year as its the new resort there..
We took the second most expensive villa in the resort, the 2 bed room villa (Villa no 15) which cost us 2100/= usd
per night only to realize we were sleeping with RATS in the room
one would think a BRAND LIKE W would be able to control rodents in their resort, APPARENTLY NOT !!
on our second night at the resort while we were asleep i heard some noise in the room and i turned out the lights
to see a rat running around in our room, we got out of the room and went to sleep in the other room and next
morning complained to the manager, they said they will get the villa fumigated and gave us complimentary spa
treatments and free soft toy for our son... we were not very happy but we came in a group and thought it would
not be nice to just leave the resort, and they assured us that the problem was taken care of, so we decided the stay..
BIG MISTAKE !!
then, our 1 and a half year old son broke out into allergies all over his face, his eyes and ears swollen up, which
was very upsetting and dampened the whole holiday spirit... we couldn't understand what was going on..
on the last day when we were packing our clothes we saw the rats had eaten through our clothes and we
have holes in our clothes
so we take one top and show the manager and all she says is sorry and she will comp one night... that seems to
be their solution for everything.. either spa treatment free or one night free... we then realized that rats we
all over our clothes, including our son and thats the reason he's got this allergy on his face and had to rush
him to the doctor as soon as we got back home
when we spoke to the lady and told her that you assured us the problem was taken care of but apparently not,
then she's saying what guarantee we have that the problem wasn't solved and that the rat/rats didn't eat ur
clothes before they fumigated our villa, what took us aback was that she actually thought she's in a position
to be cheeky and answer this way and not take the problem seriously, but to shut us up she can offer one night
free stay at the expense of hygiene and our sons health
despite this terrible ordeal, we complained so much about the service, which was so slow and horrible, our
in room dining plates wouldn't get cleared for 2 days till we would keep calling them to clear, they wouldn't do
turn down service in our villa half the time..
most of the time simple items like yoghurt would be out of stock in room service...
our friends would have certain items in their villa and it would be missing in ours and vice versa, when we all were
paying the same price..
ALL IN ALL, IT WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE AND NEVER WOULD BE STAY IN ANY W RESORT IN THE WORLD

Everything is good except that the hotel is located away from town. Good thing is that there are plenty of Taxi available.

The water shower pressure need to be upgraded. All in all, I am very satisfied with everything, the buffet choices were good..the facilities are great..Thumbs up to the staff for maintaining the hotel so well!
